AUSTIN, TX — A Girl & A Gun is pleased to announce that Tatiana Whitlock has accepted the position of Director of Training. Tatiana is an NRA Mom, certified NRA instructor, nationally recognized independent firearms instructor, speaker, and public figure, who has worked with AG & AG for the past five years. Her predecessor Kathy Jackson announced her retirement in 2017, and Tatiana will continue the work in this role to develop a formal education program to cultivate women firearms educators nationwide.
“Tatiana Whitlock understands the mission of our organization to bring women into shooting and encourage them with caring and qualified instructors,” says Julianna Crowder, Founder of AG & AG. “She is the right woman to take the reins of our instructor program and ensure that AG & AG Facilitators are armed with the knowledge they need to be successful in their communities.” Tatiana will lead the two-day Facilitator Development program at the organization’s National Conference. The Facilitators will learn new curriculum, techniques, and strategies that will strengthen their teaching skills.
“I couldn’t be more excited to officially join the A Girl & A Gun leadership team!” says Tatiana Whitlock. “Together we are poised to set a new national standard for safe, competent, and impressive women shooters and instructors nationwide. A women’s educational program designed for women by women, and taught by women in the A Girl & A Gun method. This is going to be a blast!”
Planned developments within the formal education program include:
• Official instructor training credentials, authorized by AG & AG.
• AG & AG standardized training courses for accredited AG & AG instructors to offer nationwide.
• Regular instructional training webinars for Facilitator and instructor leadership.
• Regional Facilitator and instructor training retreats.
• Business consulting services for AG & AG accredited instructors.
• New skill builders and drills for AG & AG members.
Tatiana plans to tap into the talented instructors that currently comprise the AG & AG network. This collaborative effort will draw from their voices and expertise to enrich the national training program. Tatiana brings a new outlook to the AG & AG leadership team that will result in additional training opportunities for Facilitators and members throughout the country.
