The Director of Business Development is expected to meet and exceed all directives, objectives, and corporate goals established by TSSi’s executive team. The Director is also expected to continually drive new business and continue company growth within and outside of typical markets. This position will report directly to the TSSI Vice President of Business Development. Duties include developing a business strategy, management functions, budgeting, and continual growth of Business Development team. The Director of Business Development must have the ability to handle multiple projects and possess the time management skills to complete all tasks on or before schedule. Most importantly this position is directly accountable for continuous positive revenue production, personnel development, as well as, the future success of the organization.

• Supervise, mentor and develop all departmental personnel assigned.
• Develop new methodologies to capture potential customers regarding equipment and purchasing needs.
• Provide various reports on agreed frequency that reflect the activities and sales of the departmental staff.
• Confer with Vice President of Business Development to develop strategies and procedures to increase sales, expand markets and promote business within all Business channels.
• Assist with the budget planning process as requested by the Vice President of Business Development.
• Provide input on products, market surveys, and strategy within sales procedures as requested.
• Guide and assist Business Development Managers with pricing strategy for Bill of Materials from their client base.
• Assign and oversee contractual, investigatory and task orders assigned to selected staff.
• Act as Capture Manager for large opportunities outside of the current workload.
• Assist when requested with proposal phases, writings, reviewing and editing as directed by the Business Services Section.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships for select manufacturers and representatives.
• Assist peer Directors (Outside/Inside Sales) as needed to keep fluidity and connectivity of the business units.
• Ability to manage departmental monthly pipeline reports and accurately back brief the Executive staff of pending requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have an understanding of Business Development principles and methods of proposal
development and review.
• Must have an established understanding of Government Sales and Federal Contracting.
• Must have experience working with Department of Defense, Military, Federal Agencies, and Law
• Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill
• Ability to complete work within given deadlines.
• Ability to carry out skillful negotiations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance
of a product, service, or idea.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Management with a specialization in sales preferred.
• 8 years of related Sales and Marketing Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of Sales and Marketing experience.
• Management Experience a plus.

• MS Office Suite or comparable software, internet search capability and database entry
• Understanding and experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.
• Experience and effective use of CRM (Customer Relationship Software) software and how it
applies to growing an effective sales tracking system.

TSSi’s TACOPS® Multi-Platform Medical Pouch was developed at the request of a federal agency for issue to over 2,000 of its operational staff. It is called multi-platform because of the numerous ways it can be transported – it is designed to be carried both vertically (high or low) and horizontally on a regular or duty belt; attached to a vest or other item having PALS webbing; or even clipped to the magazine pocket behind the front seat in most vehicles. TSSI Selects Cary A. Hevener as CFO

Harrisonburg, Virginia, July 7, 2014 – Bill Strang, President and CEO of Tactical & Survival Specialties, Inc. (TSSi) announced the selection of Ms. Cary Hevener as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. This announcement was the culmination of a careful selection process.

Hevener comes to TSSi from Dynamic Aviation where she was the Controller since 2006. Dynamic Aviation is the leading provider of innovative aviation solutions for government and commercial organizations worldwide. Cary attended West Virginia University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in West Virginia and Virginia. Before working for Dynamic Aviation, Cary was the Controller for Hartman Motor Sales in Harrisonburg, VA for six years. Hevener says, “I am so excited to join the team at TSSI, a company with a proven track record in success. TSSI Selects Phil Scheible As Vice President Of Business Development

Scheible comes to TSSi from Galls, LLC where he was the Director of Sales since 1997. Galls, LLC is a premier distribution company that provides public safety equipment and apparel to law enforcement agencies all over the United States. Before working for Galls, Scheible was Vice President of the Contract Sales Division for 10 years at another well known military and law enforcement outfitter, US Cavalry. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, establishing and maintaining sales opportunities to include account management and end user (conventional military, SOF, Law Enforcement or Commercial Business) relationships on a daily basis. BDM’s provide solutions to a customer’s needs primarily through education and awareness of products and services offered by TSSI. The BDM must possess the ability to multi-task and utilize professional time management skills to complete all tasks on or before schedule. BDM’s must present a professional appearance, demeanor and positive can do attitude.
