SHOT Show – Crye Precision

Once you see what Crye has on hand as well as their Six12 project, some will just throw their hands up in defeat and wonder why they even bothered to show up. But most will accept the challenge and up their game.

Crye Precision has delved into new areas and continues to remain out on the cutting edge.

First off are the new patterns. On the left you have Arid pattern and on the right Tropical.

Next up, three new jackets for Spring.

FieldShell 2

They’ve redesigned the fit lock on the fieldshell.

Loft Jacket

The loft jacket is an insulated softshell with stretchy side panels and thumb hole cuffs. It also features a stowable, low-profile hood.

LWF Jacket

The lightweight fleece jacket is the first use of this new printed softshells with fleece interior.

LEO1 Pants

The LEO1 Pant was created to offer a low-cost alternative to the combat pant for law enforcement. While the stretch panels are not on this pant, the fit block is said to be well suited to mobility. The LEO offers the Crye knee pad and the front and side cargo pockets are integrated into a single piece to lower cost.

Hitcoat

Hitcoat is a two component system designed for LE that incorporates a vest and a sleeves. You may note that the vest offers an offset zippered, front closure.

The sleeve component is a single, integrated unit that offers armor and shoulder and elbow protection.

Sizing will be similar to the combat shirt.

SmartPouch Suite

This is a real gem. Crye Precision looked at the Operator’s load and designed a suite of pouches that can be used for several different purposes.

For attachments, each pouch has a sleeve for use with AVS that will also accommodate a 2″ belt as well as PALS compatibility.

More on these soon.

AVS

They updated the yoke for the Adaptive Vest System.

Fieldsuit and Combatsuit

The Fieldsuit and Combat suit were designed for airborne operations,

They found that by offsetting the front zipper, they could keep the suit from riding up.

Airframe ATX

The Airframe ATX is an aramid option for the helmet.

And now what you’ve all been waiting for…Six12

20140114-081747.jpg

Six12 is a modular, compact shotgun system that utilizes a rotary magazine ala a revolver.

20140114-082023.jpg

Designed as an answer for the breacher, the patent pending system can be used standalone or attached to a carbine. As it is, the bull pup design a perfectly legal length. However, there is a short barreled NFA variant available for use with SBRs.

20140114-085415.jpg
The compact design gives the breacher additional breaching rounds in a package that is integrated into his carbine, increasing both lethality and survivability.

Here, you can see the removable magazine.

Look for it by Christmas.

  1. TCBA_Joe says:

So Crye is making firearms now?

    • Alex says:

I believe Crye has been designing firearms since the beginning. I think they have a design for a modular, caseless rifle as well! Who knows what we’ll see from them next.

  2. bob says:

I love SHOT show, but the Crye booth is always one of the most interesting. The Six12 looks HOT!

  3. Everyone Else says:

    *yawn*

  4. Pro Patria says:

    Eric,

Looks like I am going to have to start pulling strings to get a intro to the good folks at Crye to talk about that shotgun.

    Very interested in it.

    Robert

  5. Andy says:

Nothing related to the Airlite plate carrier at Shot?

  6. B31A says:

still waiting on the smock from shot show 2012, does this mean we might see these items by 2016?

    • SSD says:

Smock is on indefinite hiatus due to cost.

    • Mike says:

There are MANY high quality smocks on the market if you need your fix. I realize they don’t say “Crye Precision” on the tags, but they will do nicely.

  7. Laz says:

Its all great stuff but when you order from Crye their product takes 9 + month to arrive. Tired to order a large shipment of helmets and after 6 months of waiting we received an email that not only was it going to be late but that it would be another 6-8 months before arriving. We changed company and got another helmet with 60 days.

I love their stuff and they are on the leading edge of high end tactical products…but their supply to demand is just not keeping up..

  8. CAVstrong says:

I don’t know if this is even possible I imagine that booth is pack. But is there anyway you can post more detailed pictures of the new patterns. Very interested in getting a better look at them.

    Thanks.

    • SSD says:

I will try to get back over there. I showed up an hour early to the booth and you see how much they released. The patterns almost became an afterthought.

    • Chuck says:

New pattern fabrics are now available the Duro Textiles. Got an email today.

  9. Aaron says:

    Needs better lighting.

  10. Jon says:

Any chance you could get detailed pictures of each pouch in the SmartPouch system?

  11. Ella says:

Excellent flight suit. We’ll be ordering ten thousand for our airborne.

  12. Patrick says:

Any idea on the softshell release time frame?

  13. wokka says:

Loving your work as always eric!!!

looks like another good year for crye.. i can’t see how the new AVS bits interface on the one I have, nice yoke design though, smart pouches look awesome hoe they have learnt the mistakes from the 330D pouch they ran!

  14. Chuck says:

Release date on the combat suits?

  15. Blehtastic says:

If that shotgun is ~$1000 or less this is the coolest thing ever, so it’ll probably be 3 grand. That would be amazing on all the new .308 AR’s coming out from PSA and Windham and everybody. Can’t wait to see if they got it in at a good weight.

  16. GMK says:

That shotgun 12 o’clock rail looks like the EF88

  17. Derek Emerson says:

In the picture where the six12 is attached to the rifle, what is the rail system there? It is on the tip of my tongue and for life of me, I cant remember who manufactures it. Thanks for any help.

  18. Reseremb says:

The Six12 looks very interesting, a breacher’s dream, but the one mounted under the handguard and without grip seems a little akward to use.

Crye didn’t bring their motorcycle? Damn

  19. Bill says:

    ETA on the new patterns?

    • SSD says:

Fabric is available now. At this point, it’s a mad dash to covert raw goods into finished goods.

  20. Tibor says:

Any word on the 2014 product catalog? I understand they usually have them by SHOT each year.

  21. Charles says:

Did Crye give any information about the release of the LV- MBAV?

  22. WoodyTX says:

Any details on how the shotgun advances the cylinder?

  23. James says:

Sweet I always wanted a Pancor Jackhammer!

  24. Luke says:

anyone else dig that loft jacket? looks like an Arcteryx atom with thumbies! dream com true for me.

also, those are the most bad-ass onesies I’ve seen. definitely look better then the usual suits.

  25. Miller says:

I heard that they are coming out publicly with all of their pouches? Is that true?

    • SSD says:

Not exactly. What is coming out is the smart pouch suite which I show a photo of on the story.

  26. Darkstar says:

Did they give any word on when the LEO1 Pant is being shipped? Or at least a price point? I’m definitely interested in a couple pairs of those if they are a lot cheaper.
