OR Summer Market – Krieg Climbing

Thursday, August 7th, 2014

Climber and Outdoor rep Kurt Smith has always had a nickname of “The General”. While walking the halls of OR Summer Market yesterday he saw me and asked me to come and check something out. What I saw was Sam Krieg of Krieg Climbing hard at work at his sewing machine making a custom chalk bag for Kurt.

Remember I told you that Kurt’s nickname is “The General”? Turns out, Kurt’s favorite General is George Patton. Sam Krieg made up some fabric specifically for Kurt. How awesome is it that a guy named Krieg is making up a chalk bag featuring Gen Patton?

OR Summer Market – Petzl

Thursday, August 7th, 2014

The Tactikka + and Tactikka +RGB we mentioned at SHOT Show are in inventory and now shipping. They offer up to 140 lumens and the Tactikka + now includes an integral Red LED rather than the old flip up filter. These run off of constant light technology meaning the light will stay constant for the prescribed rating over the life of the battery. They use 3 AAA batteries with easy access to the compartment.

Petzl also introduced a new buckle on the headband that is crush tested to 80 kg so you won’t accidentally break the buckle. Another mounting option beside the headband is the Kit Adapt which uses adhesive to mount the lights directly to a variety of surfaces including helmets, walls, etc.

The lights are available in Black, Tan and Camo. Additionally, these are available in Berry compliant models (Tan and Black). These are the first Berry options from Petzl and a great end of year purchase.

MODESTO, Calif. Aug. 6, 2014 — 5.11 Tactical® — global innovator of tactical apparel — announced 10 new additions to its product line. Unveiled in the company’s Fall/Winter 2014 catalog, the new products offer a head-to-toe outerwear solution for enhanced performance during a variety of duty- and adventure-driven activities. Consistent with 5.11 Tactical’s approach to innovation and product development, operator input and feedback was incorporated into the design and testing process behind each new piece.

“We engineered the Fall/Winter 2014 collection with every mission in mind,” said David Hagler, vice president of merchandising at 5.11 Tactical. “Innovation, tactical features, quality materials and long-lasting durability have always been at the foundation of our product lines and a necessity to the world’s duty-driven professionals. Our newest line stays true to this foundation, while also addressing the growing trend and increased demand for tactical products that meet the day-to-day needs of those in- and out of uniform.”

Throughout the design process, incorporating durability and flexibility features were paramount for 5.11 Tactical. Crafted with precision and purpose, each piece features functional details for enhanced performance. The newest additions to the 5.11 Tactical apparel collection include:

Taclite® M-65 Jacket — evolved from the M-65 Field Jacket, which was originally released in 1965 and worn on battlefields around the world, the Taclite M-65 Jacket is a lightweight option built from 5.11 Tactical’s own Taclite ripstop fabric for maximum durability. Its contemporary cut has a number of functional features, including: RapiDraw™ pass through pockets for quick and complete interior access, a Loop Patch ID Strip, functional shoulder lapels with prym snaps, dual hidden document pockets at the chest for secure storage and articulated elbows.
