In terms of impact protection, I’d recommend that this guy size up his NG-IHPS. Does not seem to be adequate space between the helmet shell and his coconut.

There’s absolutely zero way that’s comfortable like that too, especially with issued pads.

Woah Sir! You are well aware that looking cool is much, much more important than protecting your noggin. No one wants the bobble head look.*

        jbgleason,

Roger the sarcasm. Unfortunately, there is much truth in what you say. At least some people think so. That is why I commented in the first place. I wouldn’t recommend “bobble head” big either since oversized suspension leads to poor/loose fit and less effective protection as well. However, if it takes a shoehorn and copious amounts of lube to stuff your noggin inside your helmet, the damn thing is too small! Everyone should be able to agree on that.

For sure, that visibly doesn’t look like much room for padding at all. If I’m getting shot at wearing this I wouldn’t be comfortable with so little “crumple zone.”

Also in my opinion a helmet fit this snug looks worse that one with proper proportions. Guess they’re going for that beanie style fake-DOT motorcycle helmet look.

SSD, is there any word on if Big Army has any intent to field electronic ear pro/headsets as part of its soldier protection portfolio?
