Troya To Reveal Its New Aviator’s NVG, The STRIX, At The Paris Air Show 2015

Thursday, June 11th, 2015

Troya Tech Defense has announced they will reveal their new Aviator’s NVG, The Strix, at the upcoming Paris Air Show 2015. The full release can be read below:

Troya Tech Defense Ltd., an Israeli manufacturer of Electro-Optical devices and Defense related equipment, will expose in the upcoming Air Show in Paris, the STRIX, its new advanced Night Vision Imaging System for Aviators (ANVIS).

Troya was established by veterans of the Israeli Defense industry, with vast experience in the Electro-Optics world. The company has recently developed the STRIX (the name of an owl genus), a Night Vision Goggles for Aviators, or ANVIS (Aviator Night Vision Imaging System), which complements the company’s abilities in the field of aviation. The STRIX allows the pilot for scenery familiarization at nighttime, or in cases when there is no sufficient light source available in the surrounding area. A rotary or fixed wing aircraft can be landed, ground forces acquisition and ranging can be done at ease, all using the STRIX, which is fully compatible to the illuminated panels of the cockpit. The STRIX is very lightweight, can be mounted on the majority of existing pilot helmets in use, and is compatible with various visors.

“In such case where a certain country does not have modern aircrafts, we can also provide upgrade services and transform the existing cockpit to a fully NVG compatible platform, so that is a non-issue.” Says Troya’s CEO and one of its founders, Mr. Yacov Galam. “It is true that there are already a few ANVIS models available in the market, but you could say the same thing in regards to cellular phones, for instance. And as you know, every year dozens of new models come out to the market, each taking the existing components and their output a few levels above what we knew to be possible before. This is exactly how we see the STRIX- an idea already known to all, but at the same time, with specifications and performance that were never seen before! And on a side note, it also looks amazing. We very much believe in correct design and ergonomics, and we have invested a great deal of time, resources and efforts in order to bring the user interface to the maximum comfort and functionality levels possible. The STRIX is going to be the chosen ANVIS for military and civilian pilots, for all kinds of missions; SAR (Search &Rescue), EMS (Emergency Medical Services), nighttime landing and many more.”

Troya, a new player in the Night Vision production business, develops a broad spectrum of Image Intensifying devices, where the user is exposed to levels of sight and observation that the human eye simply cannot detect. Galam- “A lot of people have already wrote obituaries for the Image Intensifying Tube, and said that the future is going to be all thermal. This has been heard for over a decade, and we still see today , that there is a growing demand for IIT based devices. There is no way around it, you simply shouldn’t change horses in midstream. Having said that, we do acknowledge the special capabilities of the thermal imaging based devices, and we are obviously working at this front as well, with new capabilities to be revealed”.

Troya’s laboratory is at Kibbutz Negba, Israel. Its headquarters are at Ra’anana, Israel. The company has another office at Milan, Italy that deals with the European market.

Alamo Four Star Announces The Cowl Induction Brake

Thursday, June 11th, 2015

P5199683b

June 9th, 2015 – Lubbock Texas – Alamo Four Star is pleased to announce the release of the Cowl Induction Brake (CIB). The CIB CNC cross milled port design reduces recoil by over 50% while minimizing the sound directed back at the shooter.

The CIB was developed as better way to mitigate the recoil of large caliber rifles. Founder Mark Deros realized a need to revisit the industry standard muzzle brake design when he was shooting his .338 Lapua and experiencing substantial recoil with a standard factory brake. This led Mark to find the most effective way to redirect the escaping gas pressure and put that energy to work in order to more effectively reduce recoil and manage muzzle rise. This reduction was made possible by redesigning the internal and external geometry of the traditional brake to increase the efficiency of the flow of gasses.

“I realized after shooting my .338 Lapua for a while I realized that there had to be a better solution than receiving an ‘ass whipping’ with the factory muzzle brake.” said Mark Deros CEO of Alamo Four Star. “With 18,000 lbs of pressure being released from that muzzle, that’s a lot of energy available to be exploited. The CIB uses that energy to the shooters advantage creating a more enjoyable shooting experience and faster follow up shots.”

The CIB is available in 223/5.56, 6mm, 6.5mm, .30cal, and .338 Lapua in both black and stainless steel. MSRP on the CIB is $169

Inglorious Amateurs is now offering a limited edition Operation Jedburgh t-shirt. Screenprinted on a 60/40 blend cotton/poly Light Olive t-shirt, the design pays homage to the WWII Jedburgh teams; two-to-four man teams composed of an Officer, a native French speaker, and an enlisted radioman who assisted French Resistance groups against the Nazi occupiers. It features the “Oh So Social” moniker which poked fun at the “PhDs who can win a bar fight.” The three parachutists on the back of the shirt represent the 3 main groups who comprised a Jedburgh team: OSS, SOE and the BCRA. These Jeds are departing one of the OSS’ Special Mission “Carpetbagger” B-24s.

Recover Tactical – HC11 Tactical Holster For 1911

Wednesday, June 10th, 2015

Recover Tactical, the company behind the BC2 Grip and Rail System for Beretta 92/96 pistols, has just released a new holster designed specifically to accommodate any standard size 1911 pistol which features their CC3H Grip and Rail System. The full release is as follows:

black-hc11-holster_1

Recover Tactical is proud to announce the release of the new Recover HC11 Tactical Holster for 1911.

The new holster is designed to fit any standard size 1911 pistol that uses Recover’s CC3H grip and rail system. The HC11 holster allows for a natural draw, comes with either a Passive or Active retention, and is compatible with most pistol rail mounted accessories (lights and lasers) on the market.

Patented Frame Locking System:

Recover’s patent pending Frame Locking System provides the option of either active or passive retention. Active retention requires the pressing of the button on the side of the holster to “unlock” and release the gun from the holster. Passive retention holds the gun in place so it will not dislodge during regular use, and will allow you to draw the firearm simply by pulling with a little extra force.

Universal Accessory Fit:

Just like Recover’s popular grip and rail systems for 1911 and Beretta, the new 1911 holster was design by world renowned Israeli weapons designer Tamir Porat (Porat also designed the IWI Tavor assault rifle).

The HC11 Holster is manufactured in Israel from the same high-grade, glass-reinforced polymer used by many polymer gun manufacturers. The holster comes with a paddle mount or can be attached to aftermarket fittings such as standard size belt loops or leg rigs.

Grip Exchange Program:

Due to design enhancements such as the Frame Locking System, the Recover HC11 holster is designed to work with Recover’s updated CC3H grip and rail system. It will not fit with Recover’s original CC3 model of grips. Therefore Recover is offering a free exchange program which allows all previous owners of the original CC3 grips to trade them in for a new set of the CC3H grips when they order the holster from www.RecoverTactical.com or any of our other retailers.

The Recover holster for the 1911 is currently available in black with more colors to be released in the coming months, and comes with a limited 3 year warranty. Retailing for only $59.99, the HC11 is one of the most beautiful and functional holsters on the market.

According to Ron Rosenberg, President of Recover Tactical, “Of all the 1911 owners that I speak with, one of their biggest requests is for a sturdy holster that enables them to switch lights or lasers on their gun without needing to have multiple holsters. With the HC11 holster’s universal accessory fit, we think we are going to make a lot of 1911 owners very happy by offering a true 24 hour holster.”

In fact, nearly all of Recover’s first holster customers have been very happy with the design and function of the new holster. Initial reviews, as well as many photos, from actual customers on Recover’s Instagram page and on popular gun forums have also proven that the HC11 holster lives up to its hype.
