If you want to write for Soldier Systems Daily its pretty simple. Just contact the Editor with your article idea. Seriously, that’s all you have to do. Generally, we want an article that is a couple of paragraphs long and answers the basic who, what, where, when, why, and how. Pictures are also helpful but make sure you have the permission of the owners. We are happy to give you a by-line but since thus far, this is a non-wealth generating pursuit, there will be no payment. However, so far everyone has wanted to keep it anonymous. One caveat for vendors, we will happily post press releases but the impact is much greater if someone checks out your product and writes an article on it.

On 12 January 2009, the Defense Logistics Agency’s Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) awarded four companies a $487,799,322 firm fixed price contract. The contract is for two years with three yearly options. The date of performance completion is Jan. 08, 2011. The using agencies for this contract are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and other Federal civilian agencies.
Proposals were originally Web solicited with 14 responses. The winners selected are Tactical & Survival Specialties, Inc., Harrisonburg, VA, W.S. Darley & Co., Itasca, IL, Atlantic Diving Supply, Virginia Beach, VA, and Source One Distributors, Inc., Wellington, FL. Readers will likely recognize TSSI, ADS, and SOD but may not be familiar with W.S. Darley which brings extensive experience in the Public Safety realm.
The Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support Program is a follow on to the Special Operations Equipment Prime Vendor program. The new TLS program will work differently as each of the four companies will compete with each other for Task Order solicitations tendered by DSCP. This differs from the previous program which allowed for a Government organization to place an order directly with the Prime Vendor of their choice.
