Introducing Deckers X LAB Tactical

Monday, November 15th, 2021

Deckers Outdoor Corp of Goleta CA, the parent of such brands as Hoka running shoes, Ugg Boot, Teva Sandals, and Sanuk, is introducing Deckers X LAB Tactical. Engineered in the Deckers Innovation Lab, the range of Deckers Tactical product takes over 30 years of developing cutting-edge footwear technology, now introduced in a high end range of military footwear.

The first introductions focus on 2 key areas; both land and sea.

The G8 model is an AR 670-1 compliant boot developed and tested with key SF units over the past 2 years. The G8 was worn by this year’s winner of the Best Ranger Competition.

The M4 model is a maritime assault boot that combines multiple technologies; a stretch knit water repellant upper with a climbing shoe rand for traction when climbing multiple surfaces, as well we key drainage ports for water evacuation. The M4 is fin friendly, fitting well into a fin pocket without squeezing your foot.

Both models use Vibram’s Litebase technology, a lighter rubber manufacturing method as well as using MegaGrip compound for the ultimate traction on multiple surfaces.

The G8 and M4 will be launched January 15, 2022 just before SHOT Show.

They can be previewed at www.dxltac.com

SHOP Show Raeford – Deckers X Lab

Wednesday, October 6th, 2021

As we’ve mentioned in the past, Deckers X LAB is the “skunk works” or Innovation Lab of the Deckers Corp; the parent behind such brands as UGG, Hoka, and Sanuk.

They’ve also developed a new line of tactical footwear and prototypes of their upcoming DX-G8 (AR 670-1 boot seen above to the left) which were worn by the winning team at this year’s Best Ranger Competition. To the right is the Deckers X LAB DX-M4, a maritime assault boot.

At SHOP Show, we got a look at what’s under development. The A6-MP (Max Profile) is intended for wear while bearing heavier loads.

Another model, the A6-LP (Low Profile) features a Fast Rope Guard and was created as an assault boot.

As you can see, the A6-LP incorporates the same sole as the water shoe.

DSEi 21 – Brigantes “On The Man”

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021

This wedge at the front of the Brigantes booth demonstrated a breadth of soldier systems capabilities offers by Brigantes and was used extensively to walk DSEi visitors through a variety of options.

Manikins were set up for Mountain & Arctic Warfare as well as Jungle and Temeprate zones.

The fabrics are from Milliken and include Milliken TactX Stretch fabric in Multicam which is a durable base fabric for performance finishes and Milliken’s best-in-class printing and shade matching.

It is a lightweight 98% plain weave nylon with 2% spandex with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The elasticity of the fabric allows the wearer freedom of movement and gives more allowance in the action areas of the garment. The nylon face fabric offers great durability to the wearer who would be very often carrying and equipped with a heavy back pack and/or body armor plus the wearer will probably be carrying a weapon utilizing a harness/strap.

Additionally, it is highly breathable whilst at the same time providing a degree of weather protection. The garment can be used as part of a layering system or can be used as a stand-alone depending on the weather conditions. It’s a very tactile fabric and extremely pleasing and comfortable to wear.
