OR – Arc’teryx Atom SL

The Atom jacket has long been one of Arc’s most popular designs but it just too warm for late spring through early fall. Arc’teryx has answered this with the new Atom SL, coming Spring 16.

The Atom SL retains all of the styling of the heavier variants but uses less Coreloft insulation in order to work for those chilly summer nights in the desert or on a mountain. Additionally, it features a low profile uninsulated stormhood, low profile Torrent fleece side panels and the new No-Slip Zip which incorporates a “speed bump” every 14th tooth so that the zipper won’t open all the way to your chest with a simple tug.

The Atom SL will be offered in several colors but remeber, this isn’t a LEAF piece. The Grey seen here will work pretty well for most folks who want to use this on the job.

Guerrilla Approach – Charity Shirts: S.O.F. “Ivy League” Alumni

Guerrilla Approach has produced two new S.O.F. “Ivy League” Alumni shirts. Both shirts are athletic cut, 60/40 cotton/poly blend. Available in sizes M – XL, Charcoal color. 100% of the proceeds from these shirts are donated to the Green Beret Foundation; 50% will be donated directly, and the other 50% will be used to host charity range workshops that also benefit GBF.

Kitanica – Cargoid Shorts

Kitanica’s Cargoid Shorts are constructed of 50/50 NyCo ripstop fabric, cut just above the knee for range of motion and to keep the wearer cool. The shorts feature 5 pockets, 7 belt loops, dual waist cinches, and a double layer reinforced seat. The hip pocket corners are reinforced to prevent knife clip wear, and the two large rear pockets have Velcro closure.

Due to popular demand, Inglorious Amateurs is releasing a revised release of their very first offering, the COG t-shirt, with the COG V2. Screened on a 60/40 cotton/poly black shirt, the COG V2 design features the iconic unit insignia used by allied combined operations command forces and OSS officers in the 3rd Contingent Operational Group; the insignia includes an eagle for airborne forces, a Thompson machine gun for ground forces, and an anchor for maritime forces.

SPECOPS.PL – MCS-1 SPECOPS Training Uniform v.1

SPECOPS.PL has announced the MCS-1 Mundur Cwiczebny SPECOPS or SPECOPS Training Uniform v.1. Manufactured of 50/50 NyCo IRR, the MCS-1 consists of pant, combat shirt, jacket, and lightweight belt. The intent of the uniform is to provide a training garment suitable for close combat training, or for use in short duration, high intensity operations. It is lighter than a full combat uniform, and is designed to be form-fitting, featuring elastic inserts. The knees and elbows of the uniform are reinforced with matching 770dtx Cordura.

The MCS-1 is available in the the standard range of camouflage patterns SPECOPS offers, including MultiCam and A-TACS.

In addition to the MCS-1, SPECOPS.PL is gearing up to release the MBS-3 combat uniform and ULPC-3 ultralight tactical vest. The official release of both proudcts has been delayed due to a delivery to a European client, so for now all we can offer is a couple of teaser images of the uniform.

Stuff I Like – Kuhl Strand Cap

Generally, if you see me wearing a hat, it’s a Kuhl Strand Cap modified with a Velcro pile patch embroidered with the SSD logo. I really like the fit of this runner-style cap which accommodates earpro quite nicely. Additionally, it’s easy to tighten the fit of the cap during high winds thanks to the cam buckle.

I’ve been wearing Kuhl caps for many years and they come in several models including the Strand, Uberkuhl, softshell Renegade and new Renegade. Kuhl alos offers Women’s models. They are available in a variety of colors which change through the seasons so you’ll need to check their site for availability.
