Neo-Retro: The 21st Century AR-180

Neo-Retro, via Brownells, Inc., Geissele Automatics, LLC, NoDak Spud, Law Tactical LLC, and Magpul Industries Corp.

Thanks to Brownells introducing an AR-180 upper receiver and Nodak offering the Spud NDS-1815 lower receiver, you can build your own AR-180 clone. This one was built by Frank Woods.

Tried to get it as close to the AR-180 I could in looks while also taking the newer architecture into account. I already had the stock and it looks damn near close enough to the original AR-180 stock while also being aesthetically in line with the M-LOK rail. The BUIS were chosen because they closest resembled the AR-180 iron sights in both height and appearance (yes, I know they’re backwards.)

I didn’t give it the Tiger Stripe layout treatment because I’m convinced Brownells has an AR-180 style AR15 grip (along the same lines as their AR10 and Retro A1 grips) in the works that they’re staying tight lipped about until SHOT. That’ll be the finishing touch on this otherwise quick turnaround of a Black Friday project.

ZEV Technologies Launches Glock Trade-In Program

Earlier today, ZEV Technologies launched a trade-in program on Instagram.

They didn’t offer a lot of details, but they did give those interested a link and this image depicting OZ-9 models.

While all of the details are at the link, the short of it is that ZEV will give you up to $500 toward the purchase of one of their OZ-9 pistols for your used GLOCK. It’s a pretty cool deal, if you’re in the market for an OZ-9.

Naroh Arms N1 Pro 9mm Compact Pistol Released at NASGW 2019

Following the success of their debut at NRAAM earlier this year, Naroh immediately began working on the newest iteration of their N1 product lineup, based in part due to market demand for a striker style trigger as well as a factory night sight option.

The entirely US designed and manufactured N1 Pro features tritium night sights and a short reset trigger, colorfully coated in “High Tide Blue” – a departure from the “Chili Pepper Red” trigger featured in the N1 debut model.

More than just an aesthetic change, the Pro trigger features a short take up and crisp break at just six pounds, with a single audible-and-tactile-click rearward reset which will feel familiar to competition shooters and striker gun enthusiasts alike. While offering a fresh interface for shooters, the N1 Pro trigger system maintains the robust and reliable DAO hammer fired system the N1 line is known for.
