Originally designed as a medical pack for a US Special Operations unit, the Multi-Purpose Pack has become a popular range bag or day pack. It is a non-stocking non-standard item which means it was designed at the request of a FS professional user to meet a unique mission set and is not part of the catalog or stocking list. Occasionally there are overruns and today we are in for real treat with the announcement of a Woodland Camo version. Supplies are limited grab one while you can.

The Hoodlum Hoodie utilizes ACM-MID 400 which is a bicomponent knit with 100% polyester interior and 100% merino wool exterior. Features a comfortable fit that still has quite a bit of stretch to it.
Full length front zipper and a form fitting hood with two front hand warmer pockets which incorporate zip closures as well as thumb holes built into the wrist over style cuffs. The Hoodlum Hoodie can be worn stand-alone or as a component of a clothing system.

ACM-WARM 600 is the heaviest layer from FirstSpear’s Advanced Clothing Materials line featuring performance Merino Wool. ACM-WARM 600 is a heavy weight knit Merino Wool blend with a super soft brushed fleece interior designed to help keep you warm in the coldest temperatures.
The Woobie is a flagship garment from the wool line demonstrating the premium materials and construction allowing for an exceptional fit and sharp look that can be worn all on its own but still work great under a smock or wind cheater.
Surprisingly light weight and incredibly warm with a thick stand up collar, low profile neck zipper, and wrist overs with thumb holes constructed from ACM-BASE 100. The tail is slightly longer in the back for added comfort. Made in the USA.

ACM Mid 400 is the next layer of performance merino from FirstSpear amd the focus of this week’s installment.
ACM Mid 400 is a dual layer material using super fine polyester on the interior and their 100% USA Merino Wool exterior.
The poly wicks away moisture from the body and transfers it to the absorbent wool exterior providing an exceptionally high performance garment that can be worn all on its own or as another base layer which works great under the Wind Cheater or your Squadron Smock.
The Mid Shirt is super tough and ultra soft with a comfortable fit that still has quite a bit of stretch to it. The 2/3rd length front zipper allows extra ventilation and a high comfortable collar to keep your neck covered. The dual layer material is light weight and wicks away moisture when its hot and traps warmth when its cold. Made in the USA with USA materials.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Self Aid Medical Pocket

Designed for a FS end-user, the Self Aid Medical Pocket is lightweight and compact, featuring a Velcro backed insert with daisy chain for organizing medical supplies. The pocket is constructed from 520E and provides a pass through so the user can access the insert from either side. With 6/9 or 6/12 attachment options it can be mounted to a plate carrier or belt. An adjustable snap secures the insert. Now available in the Non-Stocking Non-Standard section in limited colors and attachment options while supplies last.
FirstSpear Friday Focus – Frog AAC Kit
Friday, March 3rd, 2017This week, we’re going to check out the Frog AAC Kit, which I had the chance to check out during this week’s Enforce Tac at the Messe, in Nürnburg, Germany. The Frog kit adapts the Assaulter Armor Carrier for use in a maritime environment.
Standard in the kit are FS Bouyancy Compensators, Adaptive Cummerbund Flotation Elements and a 2″ belly band to secure the front and back panels to the user without having to wear a full cummerbund.
The adaptive cummerbund uses the AAC instant adjust back panel. 6/12 modular sections on the left and right of the front carrier panel allow the user to install the modular pockets of their choice and at the height they need for increased comfort and mobility.
There is also a rebreather harness kit which allows the rebreather to be attached directly to the AAC and easily ditched once free of the surf zone.
