Safariland 7TS Series Holsters for Red Dot Optics Now Available for SIG SAUER Handguns

Thursday, October 8th, 2020

ONTARIO, California – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group, today announced its popular 7TS™ RDS models, specifically designed to fit and protect handguns with red dot optics and rail-mounted lights, are now available for SIG SAUER handguns. These new fits are offered in duty, tactical and concealment models and are available for the SIG SAUER P320RX, X-Five/Full Size/V-TAC/M17, M18/X-Carry and X-Compact.

“Red dot optics have become a reliable way to speed up target acquisition,” said James Dawson, duty gear category director for Safariland. “We’ve seen a surge in demand for our current 7TS RDS holsters and are pleased to add the SIG options to the line-up. These new models will open up options for SIG owners.”

Safariland builds its 7TS RDS holsters from SafariSeven™, a proprietary DuPont nylon blend. SafariSeven allows for precision manufacturing and retains exceptional durability, even in temperature extremes. These holsters perform reliably and are practically impervious to the elements. 7TS holsters require little maintenance and are easy to keep looking good. Best of all, SafariSeven is completely non-abrasive and won’t add wear to firearm finishes.

Unlike most red dot holsters, 7TS RDS models are equipped with ALS® locking retention and protection for the optic. The protective hood that shields the red dot optic pivots automatically when the user releases the ALS retention lever via the thumb as they draw. When the user reholsters, the handgun is automatically secured in the holster and the user can then rotate the protective hood back into place, covering the red dot.

These new 7TS RDS model variations are currently available:
– Duty: 7360RDS, 7362RDS, 7365RDS, 7390RDS, 7392RDS, 7395RDS
– Tactical: 7304RDS, 7305RDS, 7354RDS, 7355RDS, 7384RDS, 7385RDS
– Concealment: 7367RDS, 7376RDS, 7377RDS, 7378RDS, 7379RDS

Each of the new holsters are equipped for the SIG SAUER Romeo1 and Romeo1Pro, Vortex Viper or Venom, Trijicon RMR, Trijicon SRO, Dr. Optic, Leupold Deltapoint Pro, or Burris Fastfire. In addition, holster fits are available to accommodate the Streamlight TLR-7, Surefire XC-1, XC-2, Nightstick TCM 550, or Inforce APLc.

PHLster Announces Summit OWB Holster

Wednesday, October 7th, 2020

After a decade of making inside-the-waistband holsters, PHLster has incorporated the range of adjustment and the concealment principles present in their AIWB holsters into a brand new outside-the-waistband concealment holster.

The new Summit OWB holster, using a unique belt attachment system, allows the end-user to fine-tune their holster to reduce printing and accommodate the specifics of their body type or mission.

Each holster comes with a pair of trimmable wedges. The wedges control the relationship between the holster and the belt, allowing you to angle the gun inward, for maximum concealment, or outward, to accommodate your body shape or to clear concealable body armor.

Grip rotation, to mitigate printing, is accomplished by setting up an offset between the leading and trailing edges of the holster. Using the thick part of the wedge on the slide side, and the thin part of the wedge on the trigger guard side, tightening the belt will pull the grip inward. If you have experience with one of the many IWB holsters that have a wing or a claw, you’ll already be familiar with this principle. For maximum concealment, you can set up the Summit with the trigger-side belt loop and wedge on the face of the holster, for more aggressive grip rotation, just like your AIWB wing-equipped holster.

We’ve also improved OWB holster belt loops. Many pancake-style OWB holsters fall short in terms of concealment because they can’t accommodate a wide range of waist shapes. Our new high-strength, slim, composite polymer wings are strong enough to survive any violent physical encounter or hard use. And they’re rigid enough to transfer the necessary belt forces to accomplish concealment, while also being forgiving enough to fit your body shape like a custom holster. Like a quality leather holster, they’ll break in to fit you perfectly, but they won’t get weaker or softer.

The base of the Summit holster is an ambidextrous, compression formed, pancake holster shell, meticulously designed to give you firm, crisp, and deliberate non-adjustable retention. With an unobtrusive mid-ride body shield on both sides, the holster accommodates optics, suppressor sights, and muzzle devices.

At launch the Summit is available in two models. One for G19/17/34 and the other for G43/43x/48 (MOS compatible). Light bearing models and additional fits are forthcoming.

Ronin Leg Straps

Monday, October 5th, 2020

Ronin Leg Straps are designed to quickly feed in between the Saferiland ALS holster and the Saferiland Mid-Ride. The leg strap comfortably secures the pistol holster high on thigh which stops lower movement on the holster while drawing the weapon and while moving and shooting. They are adjustable and comes will a retainer to secure extra material. The back of the leg straps provides extra grip.

Bungee cord is used as a second retention during Military Free Fall or Amphibious Operations.

“In my experience in combat, leg straps were a must for me. I used the leg strap to reduce flip on the lower portion of the holster during draw. During climbing and aggressive movement, the leg strap comfortably secured the holster to my thigh. I have used my leg strap to retain expanded mags during tactical reloads.”

Comp-Tac Releases New Holster in Blue Duty Series

Thursday, October 1st, 2020

HOUSTON – Sept. 30, 2020 – Comp-Tac® released a new version of its Blue Duty Holster for guns without light attachments, the Blue Duty – No Light.

This new addition to the Blue Duty Holster Series™ includes many of the same key features as the rest of the series, such as adjustable tension via a retention screw, up to 16 different mounting configurations with the three-piece International Mount Kit, and level-two retention with the spring-loaded, thumb activated bale. This holster is intended for officers or other users who want a level-two retention holster in a smaller footprint than the original two Blue Duty variants.

Comp-Tac® developed this series with direct input from the law enforcement community such as the LAPD. The Blue Duty Holster Series features two additional variants for guns with light attachments, an optic covered version for extra protection and an optic uncovered version for smaller footprint.

“The Blue Duty Holster Series, complete with level-two retention, has had major growth since its release in January,” noted Gordon Carrell, Comp-Tac general manager. “As more customers come across it, we have gotten a significant number of requests for additional make and model fits, additional lights, as well as a fit that did not need a light attached to the firearm. The Blue Duty – No Light is a great option for customers who are looking for the level-two retention with a red-dot optic and not the added cost of a light/laser that does not fit their purpose. The smaller footprint and modular mounting system give this holster added flexibility for law enforcement, military or the general public.”

Sneak Peek – Blackhawk T-Series L2C Overt

Friday, September 25th, 2020

Coming soon from Blackhawk is the T-series L2C Overt. Based on the L2C (Level 2 Compact) OWB holster, it’s a T-series holster which uses Blackhawk’s Master Grip Principle. As you grip the pistol in your draw stroke, your thumb depresses the holster release mechanism.

It’s also inherently optic friendly, thanks to the speed cut at the front of the holster. However, as you can see, there’s no shroud to protect the optic.

The L2C Overt is a great option if you don’t need level 3 retention and are looking for a low profile holster for training or daily use.

Naturally, just like there is a light bearing (TLR-7 and 8) version of the L2C, there will be a light bearing version of the overt.

Although the L2C Overt hasn’t been released yet, you can roll your own. You’ll just need to pick up the T-Series Jacket Slot Belt Loop and T-Series Jacket Slot Leg Strap Adapter. It’s a simple install.

Comp-Tac Releases Holster Fits for Glock .40 Gen 5s

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020

HOUSTON, Sept. 21, 2020 – Comp-Tac® added new Glock® .40 Gen 5 fits for the Infidel Max™, Infidel Ultra Max™, Warrior™, International™ and Blue Duty Holster Series™ approximately two weeks prior to the launch of these new firearms.

In addition to the fits already available, Comp-Tac plans to eventually expand every holster offering to accommodate the wider bodies of the .40 Gen 5s.

New holster fits include:
• G27- International, Infidel Ultra Max, Infidel Max, eV2
• G23- International, Infidel Ultra Max, Infidel Max
• G22- International, Warrior, Blue Duty – No Light

“Being able to work with firearms manufacturers during the release of new weapons is a real honor for Comp-Tac,” said Gordon Carrell, Comp-Tac general manager. “The new Glock Gen 5 .40 caliber guns have a slightly wider frame than the previous generations and Comp-Tac has been able to design holsters to fit these new guns in a short period of time. Because of that, these new holsters will be ready for purchase before these new Glocks are even available, allowing customers to carry those firearms right away.”

The International Holster is an OWB, all-Kydex® holster with a modular mounting system that includes a belt mount, paddle mount and drop offset piece. The International has been the top holster used at the IDPA nationals for eight years in a row and is an excellent choice for those who want to participate in competitive shooting events or head to the range for some training time.

The Infidel Ultra Max Holster is an IWB, Kydex-and-leather hybrid holster designed for concealed carry. The Infidel Ultra Max is designed with cant adjustment holes to allow the user to change from a reverse cant, straight drop speed cant and FBI forward cant. The Infidel Ultra Max’s top-grain, cowhide leather backing is the most comfortable material to wear against your skin. It provides a soft, flexible material that does not rub or pinch.

The Infidel Max Holster is an all-Kydex inside-the-waistband holster designed to be worn behind the hip at the 4 o’clock or 5 o’clock positions. With an easy-on, easy-off single clip, this holster is a favorite for users who want the ability to put on their gun or take it off as their environment changes.

The eV2 Holster is an appendix IWB holster designed for concealed carry. The eV2 includes the Comp-Tac Kick, a piece designed to help press the grip of the gun into the body for better concealment.

The Warrior Holster is an outside-the-waistband holster that was recently tested and recommended by the National Training Officers Association (NTOA). The all-Kydex, pancake design is excellent for concealed carry or general range use.

The Blue Duty Holster Series no light version is a level two outside the waistband holster. The Blue Duty Optic no light will accommodate a firearm with a red-dot optic attached. With a belt mount, paddle mount and drop offset, this holster provides a high level of diversity and compatibility with level two retention.
