Sophisticated hygiene concept facilitates re-opening

Good registration numbers seven months before the event

All eyes are on the future and so far, more than 900 companies have already signed up to participate. The sector will gather in Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 12 to 15 March 2021. A detailed hygiene concept offers exhibitors and visitors a safe and successful trade fair attendance.

“From 1 September 2020, it will be admissible for trade fairs and congresses to be held in Bavaria. The basis for this development is the Bavarian government’s hygiene concept. The implementation of this concept will provide the underlying conditions to host a safe IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 here in Nuremberg,” says Petra Wolf from the NürnbergMesse management board. She continues: “NürnbergMesse is well prepared. Stricter hygiene standards are, as the name says, standards. Thanks to the ample space available at the exhibition centre we are planning to make the aisles wider to allow social distancing in the aisles as well. We are offering our exhibitors and visitors a separate catering hall, separate meeting facilities for exhibitors to allow them to conduct meetings away from their own stand in the event of bottlenecks at their own stand area. In addition, our ventilation concept ensures that the air in all halls is always fresh. We completely replace the entire volume of air several times an hour and do not use treated recirculated air.”

The Bavarian government’s hygiene concept stipulates that exhibitors are obliged to record the contact details of their interlocutors separately (in the case of discussions where face masks are not worn). NürnbergMesse is providing technical support to exhibitors in this context by making the lead tracking system “LeadSuccess” available. Contactless payment, which we have become used to meanwhile in our everyday lives, will be available in all areas (catering, kiosks, parking zones) and is another component of the hygiene concept.

NürnbergMesse has produced a separate hygiene concept for exhibitors and their stand design:

The IWA Event Team is on hand with expert advice in the event of any questions regarding implementation.

Exhibitor registration numbers inspire confidence

The excellent registration numbers seven months ahead of the event are testimony to the huge commitment the sector is making to its very own IWA OutdoorClassics: “The cancellation of IWA 2020 caught us all off guard. As a result, we are all even more delighted that more than 900 exhibitors have already committed to attending IWA 2021. This sends us a strong message about how much the sector wants to meet up and interact again and how important and valuable the annual gathering is for it. And we intend to do our utmost to bring this about! The event team is working extremely hard with passion and enthusiasm on the preparations for March 2021. Even if the coronavirus crisis is still not over by the beginning of next year, as things stand today the IWA will take place! Thanks to our hygiene concept we are ideally equipped to carry out an IWA trade fair even under the conditions imposed by the coronavirus. We are confident that we can offer all our customers a safe and successful event of the kind you know and love from your previous IWA industry gatherings! And if infection rates continue to decline, we also envisage the possibility of relaxing the obligatory mask wearing,” says Rebecca Schönfelder, Exhibition Director, IWA OutdoorClassics.

Trade visitors can therefore already look forward again to the numerous exhibits from traditional gunsmiths and cutlers with their centuries of history, as well as cutting-edge production technology for high-precision sporting firearms and sights. “The IWA will once again become the exciting experience and networking hub that we have all missed this year! We are looking forward to bringing the sector together again at IWA 2021,” says Schönfelder.

Trade visitors only

The IWA OutdoorClassics is organised by NürnbergMesse and sponsored by VDB (Association of German Gunsmiths and Gun Traders) and JSM (German Firearms and Ammunition Manufacturers Association). This event is exclusively for trade visitors. Children and young people under 18 years of age are not allowed to attend. Tickets for the IWA OutdoorClassics will be issued only to visitors from appropriate specialist suppliers, official agencies and security companies on presentation of relevant credentials.

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from 12 to 15 March 2021.

Dual Leadership Model for IWA OutdoorClassics as Luisa Seibt Becomes New Marketing Director

Monday, June 15th, 2020

Luisa Seibt (30) was appointed marketing director of the IWA
OutdoorClassics trade fair on 1 March 2020. She will work in tandem with Rebecca Schönfelder, the event’s exhibition director, to provide the leading international trade fair for the sector with an experienced pair of leaders at the helm.

In recent years Luisa Seibt worked for one of the event’s major exhibitors in the field of digital marketing for hunting and sports. Through her involvement in joint projects relating to the IWA OutdoorClassics, she gained experience of working with the exhibition team and her expertise in social media and blogger relations was much sought after. This means that Seibt is not just familiar with the thematic areas of the IWA OutdoorClassics as a former exhibitor but already knows a good bit about the developments and work flows of the trade fair as such.

“Due to the corona situation I am starting the job at a time of unprecedented challenges, not just for us as an exhibition company but also for the entire sector. However, it is a situation that also offers opportunities,” says Seibt with conviction. “As the marketing team, we will have the support of a strong and well networked partner in the shape of the IWA OutdoorClassics exhibition team. The two teams will work together to identify potentials, above all in the area of digital transformation, and ensure that the IWA OutdoorClassics continues to be the leading fair for the industry,” Seibt adds.

Schönfelder is also looking to the future. “We have high hopes of the 2021 event. Our optimism is reinforced by the number of exhibitor registrations received for the IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 in just a short time. Luisa Seibt is a stroke of luck for us: She’s a marketing expert with insider knowledge of the sector and a passion for hunting, and a young person with an agile mindset who embraces challenges, so I am very much looking forward to working closely with her,” says Schönfelder.

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from 12 to 15 March
2021.

IWA Is Cancelled For 2020

Thursday, April 16th, 2020

IWA OutdoorClassics will not take place in 2020

Due to the impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the global economy, NürnbergMesse has decided not to hold the IWA OutdoorClassics in September 2020. The uncertain situation is imposing as yet unknown challenges on the industry and is causing a reduced willingness to invest, which is in turn associated with declining sales and production stoppages. At the same time, trade fair participants in many places are finding it difficult to plan and prepare their trade fair appearances due to business activity being limited by official order as well as international travel restrictions.

“We would specifically like to thank representatives of the sector for the many candid and constructive discussions we have had with them in recent days that have helped us make our decision. Our objective with the IWA OutdoorClassics is to create a special experience at international level for exhibitors and visitors and to facilitate the establishment and development of business relations. Unfortunately, the impact of the coronavirus crisis means that we cannot do this to our usual high quality standard,” explains Petra Wolf from the NürnbergMesse management board. Originally, some 1,550 exhibitors from 60 countries were expected to attend the IWA OutdoorClassics 2020; in 2019, the event welcomed more than 45,500 trade visitors from 120 countries.

Save the date: IWA OutdoorClassics in March 2021

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from 12 to 15 March 2021. This means that the event is returning to its usual springtime schedule. “After this crisis the need for information and knowledge-sharing will be greater than ever. This is why we are now looking forward and setting the course for next year,” says Rebecca Schönfelder, Exhibition Director IWA OutdoorClassics. “The IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 will serve the industry as a platform for its global relaunch. “Due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus, the already announced IWA Customer Circle will probably not be able to meet for the first time to discuss the ongoing development of the IWA OutdoorClassics until early summer 2020. To ensure that exhibitors can reliably plan ahead in good time, the IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 will therefore be a trade-only fair closed to consumers.”

New September Dates For Enforce Tac & IWA

Monday, March 2nd, 2020

We just received this message from the hosts of Enforce Tac and IWA:

In view of the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and taking into account the principles for risk assessment of major events adopted by the crisis management group of the German government and the current recommendation of the Bavarian State Government for international exhibitions, NürnbergMesse has decided to postpone.

Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC 2020 to Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

For the planning reliability of all exhibitors, visitors, partners and media: Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC will continue to take place in the period at the beginning of September in the following years, and no longer in the previous period at the beginning / middle of March.

IWA OutdoorClassics 2020 will take place from Thursday, 3 September until Sunday, 6 September 2020.

The protection of the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and employees is a top priority for NürnbergMesse. In awareness of this responsibility and after careful consideration and evaluation of the current situation, the Management Board of NürnbergMesse has decided on this necessary protective measure.

Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse: “We expressly thank all customers, partners and media representatives for the understanding they have shown regarding our decision to postpone Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC 2020. We are pleased about the high level of commitment in the industry – after intensive deliberations and numerous positive discussions with national and international customers, we have chosen the new date at the beginning of September also for the following years“.

IWA Is Postponed

Thursday, February 27th, 2020

No further information. We will update you as we learn more.

Update: Enforce Tac is postponed as well. Awaiting official announcement.

Update 2: Here is the official press release.

Postponement of IWA OutdoorClassics 2020 and Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC 2020

By virtue of the new situation regarding the spread of the corona virus, NürnbergMesse has decided to postpone IWA OutdoorClassics 2020 and Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC 2020: from the planned dates of 4-5 and 6-9 March 2020 to a date in 2020, which yet has to be specified.

IWA OutdoorClassics is the leading international exhibition for hunting and shooting, equipment for outdoor and for civilian and official security applications. Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse: “We hope that the industry will understand the decision to postpone. The aim of every exhibition has to be to create a special experience for exhibitors and visitors likewise and to enable networking and expansion of existing business relations. Unfortunately, this goal cannot be achieved under the current circumstances”.

The IWA OutdoorClassics, which was planned to take place from 6 to 9 March 2020, has been postponed to a date this year that has yet to be determined in detail: “We are aware of the great importance of the IWA for our exhibitors and visitors. All the more reason for us to put high pressure on the task to find the best possible alternative date for such an important event for our customers,” says Petra Wolf.

The Enforce Tac / U.T.SEC trade show, which runs before will also be postponed in line with IWA OutdoorClassics.

Tuesday, February 25th, 2020

Helikon-Tex® is making its way to yet another IWA OutdoorClassics exhibition, proving its ground as producers of highly-anticipated and well-designed tactical gear. Just like the last time, they’re going to show their brand-new products in Hall 9, booth 9-220, inviting you all to their tactical world. What is going to be shown?

Helikon-Tex® Competition MultiGun Rig®

Competition MultiGun Rig® was a concept gear at the 2019 IWA OutDoorClassic and this year it’s coming as a fully developed product to be sold starting in late March. It’s a versatile, need-adjustable chest rig for dynamic range shooting. Various available pouches for carbine and pistol mags, IFAK set and EDC gear are making it a great choice for shooters at all levels of experience.

Helikon-Tex® MCDU® Combat Shirt

Helikon-Tex® MCDU® Combat Shirt is the latest addition to the whole set of Patrol Line uniforms. Made of highly-breathable TopCool fabric it was tested in 2019 by a SWAT brigade. Both biceps pockets will easily store a folded map and a GPS transmitter. This combat shirt will work well with all types of plate carriers and backpacks.

Helikon-Tex® Covert M-65 Jacket®

Helikon-Tex® Covert M-65 Jacket® is a modern approach to the all-time classic M-65 Field Jacket. Made of DuraCanvas® fabric it’ll protect its user against light rain and wind, and keep warmth when needed. In addition to a variety of buttoned and zippered pockets, there’s a fully-detachable pocket inside which can be used as a separate waist-pack.

Helikon-Tex® Swagman Roll Basic®

Helikon-Tex® Swagman Roll Basic® is a simpler version of well-known Swagman Roll®. Made of the battle-tested lining of M-65 Jacket it’s a universal layer to be used solo or as an addition to a hammock. It has an improved hood and may be used as a sleeping bag when needed.

Helikon-Tex® Bergen Backpack®

Helikon-Tex® Bergen Backpack® is a renewed, modern version of “Bergen” backpack which has been used by the British Army in the post WW2 era. With its 18-liter storage capacity, it’ll be just enough for a 2-3 day trip for an advanced trekker and a single day trek for novices. 3 outer pockets and a couple of gear-slots makes it easy to spread one’s gear properly.

Helikon-Tex® Bushcraft Belt Kit

Helikon-Tex® Bushcraft Belt Kit will be shown as a concept model this year at IWA OutDoorClassics. It’s a cleverly-designed bushcraft belt to carry your survival essentials by attaching additional pouches. The latter will include the Vagabond Seat Pad, the Bushcraft Pouch, the Dump Pouch, the Water Canteen Pouch and the Compass Pouch.

Helikon-Tex® is a polish-based tactical gear company founded in 1983. Its origins are mostly related to surplus military equipment, but since 1999 it’s producing its own tactical, military and outdoor gear. In 2019, they started to work with well-known experts who become Helikon-Tex Ambassadors. Their main motto is #JourneyToPerfection.
