GiantMouse Announces the New ACE Bleecker

Sunday, August 11th, 2024

East Lansing, Michigan, August 8, 2024 – GiantMouse is proud to announce the latest edition to our ACE Line of unlimited knives. The Bleecker is GiantMouse’s refined take on the slim “gentleman’s” folder. This modern, sleek framelock captures the distinctive design ethos that our customers have come to expect from the Danish design team at GiantMouse. Its compact profile allows it to effortlessly slip into your pocket and remain discreet until needed – ready to handle any cutting task your day demands, whether you are at home, in the office or out in the field.

Continuing our tradition of drawing inspiration from historic and diverse neighborhoods, hotels and dive bars during our travels, the Bleecker is named after Bleecker Street in Manhattan.

Just as Bleecker Street is a vibrant and eclectic artery of Greenwich Village, known for its historic charm and bohemian spirit, the Bleecker knife embodies these qualities with its stylish and modern design. It’s low profile and practical, making this knife ideal for any situation.

Bleecker Street runs through the heart of Greenwich Village, a neighborhood renowned for its lively night scene and artistic legacy. This street has been a major artery of American bohemia and a hub for cultural movements, making it a fitting namesake for our newest knife design. Bleecker Street is synonymous with creativity and counterculture. It was a main stomping ground for the Beatniks and the ’60s Folk music revival. Legendary music venues such as Terra Blues, The Red Lion, and The Bitter End continue the creative legacy represented
by Bleecker Street.

AKTI & Willey Knives Applaud Introduction of Knife Legislation

Delaware Initiative to Remove Restrictions on Individuals and Benefit Retailers
Cody, Wyoming, June 19, 2024 – The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) and Willey Knives, a Delaware-based retailer, applaud the recent introduction of legislation by state Senator David Wilson to provide positive changes for knife owners and retailers in Delaware by removing dated prohibitions on automatic knives.  If passed, SB23 will bring Delaware laws in line with nearly half of the United States and remove barriers that put Delaware-based retailers at a competitive disadvantage.

“As a second-generation family-owned small business, we are always looking to respond to our customers’ needs,” said Geri L. Elliot, Co-owner of Willey Knives in Greenwood, Delaware. “In this case, we can’t because of where we are located.  Meanwhile, less than 20 miles away, our competitors across the border can sell these tools to their customers.  Delaware residents also deserve the opportunity to carry these knives, as citizens from many other states have done for decades.  We thank AKTI for their hard work advocating for this initiative and our Senator Wilson for carrying this legislation forward and supporting his district.”

Delaware law currently prohibits the ownership, possession, and sale of automatic knives, commonly used in agriculture, the trades, and by outdoor enthusiasts such as anglers and hunters.  The legislation removes these restrictions and allows knife retailers to sell the knives, as is common in other states.

“Delaware knife law changes have been a priority for the American Knife & Tool Institute since 2013,” said CJ Buck, AKTI Presidentand CEO of Buck Knives. “We sincerely thank Senator Wilson for his effort to bring relief to both individuals and knife businesses. This legislation has had broad bipartisan support in other states and has been signed into law by Republican and Democratic Governors.  We look forward to working with the Legislature to make this bill a law.”

“My bill will repeal an archaic provision in our law and bring it in line with nearly every other state in the nation,” Senator Wilson said.  “This commonsense solution will be good for local businesses like Willey Knives, who should not be disadvantaged only because they are based in Delaware.  It’s also good for knife owners who use these knives as tools of their trade or recreationally.”

“We thank the knife community for helping spread the news about our initiative in Delaware,” added Buck.  Updates on the progress will be available on our website, and individuals can sign up for our monthly emails that include legislative updates.”

Knife laws of all 50 states can be reviewed on the AKTI website, www.AKTI.org, as well as detailed articles about understanding knife laws and court decisions.

GiantMouse GMF1-XL Wins Best Imported Fixed Blade

Thursday, June 13th, 2024

East Lansing, Michigan, June 12, 2024 – GiantMouse is proud to announce that the new GMF1-XL, which launched last Thursday, has been awarded the prestigious “Imported Fixed Blade of the Year” at the 2024 Atlanta Blade Show. This accolade marks yet another significant achievement for GiantMouse, following our GMF4 taking “Best Factory Fixed Blade” at Blade Show West last October, and the GMX taking “Overall Knife of the Year” last June in Atlanta.

Building on the legacy of our beloved GMF1, the GMF1-XL is the much-anticipated larger version that you have eagerly awaited. The GMF1-XL offers the same exceptional ergonomics and utility as its predecessor but steps things up with increased size and enhanced features, making it a formidable companion for all your everyday carry needs. This model maintains the sleek, compact nature of the original GMF1, but boasts a larger blade and handle, as well as handle scales in either brass or green canvas Micarta for improved functionality and grip. The lanyard hole at the back and a strategically placed front hole not only provide a better grip but also add to the knife’s artistic appeal that GiantMouse is known for. For those who prefer a skeletonized handle, the scales can be easily removed, allowing paracord to be wrapped through the holes for a custom, tactical look.

The entire GiantMouse team extends a heartfelt thanks to our supporters and Italian manufacturers for their unwavering commitment to excellence. “This award is a testament to the passion and craftsmanship that goes into every GiantMouse knife,” said GiantMouse CEO Jim Wirth. ”We are deeply honored to be recognized once again and remain committed to delivering top-quality products that our customers can rely on.”

The recognition of the GMF1-XL as the Imported Fixed Blade of the Year at the 2024 Blade Show is a proud moment for GiantMouse and an affirmation of our pursuit of innovation and quality. We are grateful for the continued support from our community and look forward to bringing more exceptional knives to your pockets.
