OTIS Defense – Individual Deployment Kit
Thursday, June 8th, 2023Once offered by Gerber, the Individual Deployment Kit is now an OTIS Defense product.
It’s a great kit, especially for mounted personnel, combing a MOLLE compatible sheath with individual compartments for a Gerber Safety Strap Cutter, Streamlight Sidewinder flashlight, Gerber MP 600 multi-tool, and eFECT weapon cleaning tool. Although originally a Gerber item, the eFECT tool is currently in transition to being manufactured by OTIS Defense.

Rampart Range Day 23 – BCB Illumination Markers

These illumination markers are meant as an alternative to disposable Chemlights. Available in Green, Red, Blue, White and IR, they can be turned on and off as needed and run for 36 hours. They’ve been tested down to -25 Deg C and the rep says you can get them wet.

Created by two special operations Veterans (one Army and one Navy) the 0BS-1 (referred to as the Dash One) was designed to do precisely what the company name promises, eliminate weapon light blind spots caused by shadows from barrels and enablers.
They invested three years of R&D effort into the project. The light offers 400 lumens on the high setting and 300 lumens on low, which testers found optimal during development for target illumination and threat identification. The Dash One also runs for four hours on the high setting (eight hours on low) on a single charge of its integral USB-C rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries, offering a great balance of performance and power.
