SORD – Nav Platform

SORD’s Nav Platform is a Don/Doff aid for the attachment of navigation devices. Made from Kydex, the Nav Platform features functionally spaced holes for threading elastic cord. It comes with 600mm of elastic shock cord, along with a single toggle for the end user to cut, thread, tie, and/or weave the cord to their own requirements. MOLLE spaced slots on the platform allow for speed threading of batons. The platform is designed to be flexible enough so that it will bend rather than splinter in the event of a face-first landing.

MOLLE column-sized tangs allow the end user to weave the Nav Platform into a carrier or vest. Fefatures a quick attach / single handed release.

The UW GEN III Chest Rig is a low-profile mission focused vest built to be ambidextrous and designed to carry the following: 4 ea 5.56mm magazines, 2 pistol magazines, up to 2 small radios (PRC-152/MBITR) as well as two GP pockets. The H style harness features loops to route antennas, comms wires and hydration bladder tubing. Elastic is provided for cable management and antenna relocation. The UW Gen III Chest Rig is made in the USA.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Contractor Bag and Rolling Frame

I saw the new FirstSpear Contractor Bag and Rolling Frame at SHOT Show. Generally, companies are want to take this project on due to cost but enough of their customers asked for one that they decided to work out the frame side of things. Building a good bag isn’t the issue for a company like FirstSpear, it’s putting together a frame that balances weight and durability that can be the challenge.

FirstSpear did it by engineering a lighter, more durable rolling frame by taking advantage of advanced design in both tubing and material structure to drop some weight and maintain or increase strength in key areas.

This system features top loading through a generous zipper closed portal and has reinforced secured handles that can be used to offset the pull of the bag behind you so as not to clip your heels or for those times when you find yourself pulling two. If needed, the bag can be removed from the frame for cleaning and repair.

Available in Black, Rust and Manatee Grey so you won’t stick out like the proverbial sore thumb during travel.

The Atlas 46 Tool Roll

John Carver started the legendary Eagle Industries during the 1980s. A few years back he sold it and went into “retirement”. No sooner than he started odd jobs around his ranch did he realize that he could build a better tool belt. That’s when Atlas 46 was born and since then he has created quite a few items. Just the other day he sent these photos of a new Tool Roll.

Four zippered pockets to keep everything organized and a newly added carrying handle on the latest prototype.

This is teh load of tools in the roll.
