Maker Monday – S&S Precision PlateFrame Release System

S&S Precision developed a retrofit cutaway system that can be fitted to any existing PlateFrame. It’s a single pull release that can be configured right or left and pull to accommodate the wearer’s dominant or non-dominant hand. It can be pulled in any direction and detaches the shoulder strap and cummerbund.

AWS, Inc. – Light Assaulter Belt System

The Light Assaulter Belt System (LAB) is a basic shooters belt designed to be totally customizable to user specifications. The LAB is made of 1-3/4″ Type 13 MIL-W-4088 webbing, with a parachute grade MilSpec V-ring with optional 550 cord wrap, heat sealed ends to prevent fraying, and an abrasion liner to prevent wear at the hardware point. The LAB is fully adjustable for a comfortable fit, and is available in sizes SM – XL.

The basic LAB system consists of an individual belt with COBRA buckle (multiple COBRA styles available), complete with inner belt. Users can then select from a number of available components to customize their LAB they way they want:

– MOLLE conversion panel for MOLLE pouches
– Uni-Mag rifle and pistol magazine pouches
– GP/Utility pouch
– Retention lanyard
– Quick release glove carabiner
– Dump pouch with IFAK pocket
– IFAK medical insert
– IFAK Red Cross patch

Additionally, any future components will be designed to fit the base model belt, insuring that users can upgrade their belt at their discretion.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Modular Fight Strap

The subject of this week’s Friday Focus is the Modular Fight Strap. If you’re a fan of the Fight Strap line you’re going to love the Modular Fight Strap because unlike the various fixed pocket models, you get to set yours up anyway you like.

It’s quite versatile. Either side accepts FS 6/9 pockets and standard MOLLE Pockets as well as FS Ultralight 6/12 pockets on the nylon side and even Ragnar pockets on the body side.

Think of it as a preconfigured resupply, whether ammo, med supplies or other items. Basically, it’s a bandoleer. You can work directly from it on the range, toss it over your shoulder or, toss it to a buddy. It can even be used as an expedient chest rig.

Additionally, it can be staged for use within various packs and loadout bags.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Overlap Cummerbund

For this week’s FirstSpear Friday, we take a look at a brand new product: the Overlap Cummerbund.

Developed at the request of a FS Professional User, the Overlap Cummerbund is designed to provide additional overlapping soft armor at the front side of the plate carrier where the Tubes closure system meets. The additional soft armor tucks in behind the Tubes allowing full opening and closing of the vest.

The Overlap Cummerbund has been modified so that the body side allows for the attachment of Ragnar Pockets. This means that magazines and other items can be held in close to the body, providing a more streamlined silhouette, a benefit to users who are working in or from a vehicle, conducting tubular assaults, or who simply wish to carry more magazines than a traditional front loading carrier would allow.

Main Features:

Soft armor inserts extend behind the tube and overlap the body of the plate carrier, while still allowing full functionality of the Tube system.

Body side of cummerbund now has loop allowing you to attach pockets from the Ragnar Pocket Suite (our full Velcro backed pockets)

The back bungee cord has been replaced with Velcro and stretch material.

The Overlap Cummerbund is going to be offered immediately as an upgrade to existing FirstSpear carriers, such as the Strandhögg, and will offered in limited colors and quantities.

The Cummerbund Adapter is a modular attachment platform for use with S&S Precision’s minimalist PlateFrame. Designed for reinforced strength and modularity, it attaches via simple buckles for reliability.

The cummerbund’s inner webbing provides additional space for PALS/Webbing accessories. Finally, it’s made from a water resistant material for use in maritime or other high moisture environments.

Available in Toadvine, Black or Tan.

Made in the 757.
