The Creedmoor Spotting Scope Mount Saver, Cost Effective Insurance Against Wear and Tear

Thursday, February 1st, 2018

No more stripping out or wearing out the threaded holes in a spotting scope each time you mount it. Plus, it works with more than spotting scopes!

Anniston, Ala. (January 2018)Creedmoor Sports, the precision shooting products manufacturer and supplier, offers shooters a common sense solution to a common problem: the stripping or wearing out of the threaded holes in a spotting scope mount when constantly attaching and unattaching to a tripod. The new Creedmoor Sports Scope Mount Saver resolves this frustrating and often expensive problem. This cost effective “saver” ensures the scope mount and head remain in like-new condition and never leaves the user in a bind while on the range. The Scope Mount Saver, although originally designed with spotting scopes in mind, makes a great tool for photographers and anyone who uses equipment that attaches to tripods.

Measuring just 2.178″ x1.5″ and made from 3/8-inch thick 6061 black anodized aluminum, the Scope Mount Saver comes with a standard ¼-20 socket cap screw that recesses and mounts flush. Attach it once and leave it.

There are three screw holes available to choose from rather than the normal one found on a typical mount. Depending upon how the mount is oriented, the user can make minor vertical or horizontal adjustments to the scope’s position on the mount. Another plus to the additional holes is that if the user ever mistakenly strips out one of the holes, there are still two others to choose from!

“Shooters typically remove their spotting scopes once they leave the range. Repeatedly inserting steel mounting screws into an aluminum threaded hole can quickly wear out the threads. Once those threads are destroyed there is very little you can do, other than to replace the scope or send it back to the factory for repair,” Brent Books, sales and marketing manager for Creedmoor Sports, commented. “Some of the higher end scopes have a steel helicoil lining the hole. The problem with the helicoil is that they have very sharp leading edges that tend to cut into the steel mounting screw, ruining the threads over time. The Scope Mount Saver is really a no-brainer when it comes to saving your equipment and time spent in repair. It’s effective and very economical when you consider the cost of scope repairs or replacements.”

The Creedmoor Sports Scope Mount Saver is available online for an MSRP of $24.95. Check out a video on the Scope Mount Saver.

2EC98B56-01B5-4073-8A46-AD43229291DB

The MATBOCK ARD (Aquire Read Deploy) is a new 40mm weapon sight designed and manufactured in the USA.  Made from anodized aluminum and mountable on either side or top rails, the sight has a digital LCD screen that outputs the range of 40mm projectiles given the angle of the weapon, the weapon system and the round used.  Currently, the sight is configured for m203, 320, PGL6 weapon platforms as well as multiple rounds to include HE and non-lethal rounds.  More weapons and rounds are to be brought online and each weapon sight can be updated with the new software.  The simplicity of the sight is what makes it so adaptable in a firefight.  Simply estimate the range of the enemy and raise the weapon to achieve that desired distance.  After the first round impact is visualized, the operator can adjust fire to bring him/her on target very quickly.
