PocketUp – Terrier Patrol Pack

Thursday, October 15th, 2020

PocketUp is a small veteran owned business founded by my longtime friend Mel Terkla and his wife Rena. They’ve been making small items over the past few years, but anyone that knows Mel, knows that he loves packs and is the guy behind Kifaru getting into the military pack business about 20 years ago.

They’ve just unveiled their new Terrier Patrol Pack.

Designed as a small patrol/field pack, it is ALICE Pack simple, with no zippers. As Mel says, “just stuff and go!”

It is built with 1000d Cordura and 1050d Ballistic Nylon for extreme durability.

The Terrier has fully adjustable suspension featuring 19” aluminum stays, a contoured waistbelt that wraps the iliac crest, wide/padded shoulder straps with lifter straps and adjustable torso length, with a dual density foam back panel. A waistbelt is also included with the Terrier.

There is a fixed top lid with 5 rows and 6 channels of PALS webbing , and a full field of Velcro under the top lid to attach Velcro back pouches for small items that you need to access quickly.

The front of the pack has 9 rows and 6 channels of PALS webbing allowing plenty of real estate to mount PALs compatible pockets.

There are tab loops on the top lid and the bottom of the pack to attach their PocketUp Pods, or lash gear to.

The flat/bellowed side pockets lay flat when not being used, but can bellow out to expand the capacity of the pack, and hold lots of extra gear. The main bag and the side pockets have roll top closures.

The Terrier is bladder friendly with a bladder compartment in the main bag, and the ability to carry bladders in the side pockets, with all 3 having hose ports.

They supply elastic strap keepers for all the compression straps and the 2” shoulder strap webbing.

Like all of their packs, these are built on order, but Rena had to build one in Coyote and one in Ranger Green for photos.

The Terrier is now live on the website and ready to order. The price is $450.00 for Coyote or Ranger green and $475.00 in Multicam, that includes the waistbelt offered in 3 sizes.

They do not use sewing contractors like most of the big companies do now. Every PocketUp product is built by Rena…Made in the USA!

MATBOCK Monday – GRAVEROBBER Sustainment and Gram

Monday, August 24th, 2020

Happy MATBOCK Monday!

The Graverobber™ Assault Medic (GRAM) bag is the result of years of needed improvement in bags specifically designed for the team medic. CRO brings a multi-mission approach to the design with their well-thought-out adaptability, including a panel insert that converts to a skeleton med panel which can be clipped or slung using the thin padded shoulder straps. Remove to design a custom panel that is interchangeable for different packing requirements, or easily change bags with the versatility of a panel insert.

Lighter Faster Warriors, The MATBOCK ethos, is realized by the GRAM. MATBOCK Ghost® material is used throughout with Tegris reinforcements, giving the inside contents protection to allow for narcotics to be set up using a soft case.

The GRAM is designed to be mounted to an ALICE frame, giving the medic a slim assault bag that can be configured in many ways to enhance medical load carriage. This jumpable, water resistant bag bridges the gap between assault bags and en-route care, due to its expandable design and ability to hang.

This versatile, meticulously designed med bag was created with everyday medic load carriage in mind.

Made from MATBOCK’s Ghost and Ghost Light materials for superior water resistance, durability, strength and weight savings.

New MYSTERY RANCH Medic Pack: MOLE

Tuesday, July 28th, 2020

Designed for requirements around their winning bid in the Norwegian TCCC program, the MYSTERY RANCH MOLE fills the demand for a scaled-down, feature-rich medical pack. Every square inch of this pack was designed with function in mind.

At 22L, the MOLE is similar in size, but has a slimmer profile than its popular predecessor, the RATS pack. It is built with custom spec’d 500D CORDURA® with Teflon® and PU coatings for maximum durability, UV and weather protection and finished off with IR-compliant YKK® zippers. The MOLE is highly configurable with its carrying options and internal organization, adapting to changing mission profiles.

It features removable shoulder straps and waist belt, along with a system for attaching directly to body armor, and a top handle for multiple carrying options. Also noticeable is the incorporation of the removable Stick-it pouch for stowing a helmet, jacket or other bulky object on the outside. Underneath that are a sheath for trauma shears and dual tourniquet holders. The clamshell top lid opens widely for full-viewing access to contents.

Interior removable panel for single-access items.

External shear pocket with elastic on either side for quick access items (tourniquets).

The main compartment splays open via one-handed access from its two-zip design, allowing full access to the removable internal pouches inside the pack. An additional, internal handle keeps from fighting the top lid when hanging the pack to work out of.

The internal main compartment is lined with loop fuzz which allows you to customize its five removable medical pockets. Each pocket has clear vinyl windows and internal elastic bands to keep items tidy. An extra removable panel is included for even faster access to certain materials such as tourniquets, gauze and/or gloves. Two inner sleeves along the sides provide secure slots for splints or other long items.

Here’s a quick video detailing the MOLE:

MYSTERY RANCH really stayed focused on versatility and quick access on this pack. The MOLE has already been very popular in Europe as it launches here, looks to be a consideration for your combat trauma essentials. Check out the full line of medical military packs and accessories at MYSTERY RANCH.

We are pleased to collaborate with our friends at North American Rescue for kitting out our medical packs for these photos and videos. Please contact NARescue customer service to order medical contents as shown.
