The new Model 2 wipe-style suppressor from the Hush Puppy Project weighs 3.7 ozs and is only 3” long yet delivers superb sound reduction thanks to a patent-pending arrangement of sound-dampening “wipes”. The Model 2 will be shown at the upcoming 2020 SHOT Show next week in Las Vegas along with a new slide-locked Glock G19 Gen 5 pistol with a Glock factory threaded barrel and factory suppressor height sights.
The Model 2 is the smallest and lightest silencer ever produced by the Hush Puppy Project. Designed to be shot “wet” for maximum sound reduction, the Model 2 features six wipes held by a patent-pending module that clips the wipes into place. The fully functional Auxiliary Module allows for added length and wipes for additional suppression or the wipes in the Auxiliary Module allow reloading of the primary module.
Additionally, a new Hush Puppy slide-locked Glock G19 Gen 5 pistol with a Glock factory threaded barrel will be shown for the first time at the SHOT Show. New for 2020, Glock is introducing a threaded-barrel model of their popular G19 Gen 5 and the Hush Puppy Project is offering this pistol with our patented Slide Lock Device to render the pistol a locked breech, manually operated single-shot, eliminating the sound of the slide cycling for the quietest shot possible.
Hush Puppy Project’s sister company, Super Vel Ammunition, will be introducing a recreation of the U.S. Navy SEALs’ Mk 144 Mod 0 9mm subsonic ammunition at the SHOT Show. Super Vel and Hush Puppy can be found at booth 1720 and with their distributor Lipsey’s at booth 11329.

Big news from SIG. For the first time in over a century, the US military has safety certified bot a new weapon as well as ammunition at the same time.
They also certified a suppressor at the same time, a first.
These weapons are undergoing a combat evaluation by MARSOC on behalf of USSOCOM and the US Marine Corps.
I recently had an opportunity to fire the SIG SAUER MG 338 machine gun. It is extremely controllable and weighs less than an M240.
Here is their press release.
NEWINGTON, N.H., (January 13, 2020) – SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce the United States Special Operation Command (USSOCOM), working closely with SIG SAUER, has completed a safety certification of the new SIG SAUER MG 338 Machine Gun, SIG SAUER 338 Norma Mag Ammunition, and Next Generation Suppressors. Following this historic official safety certification, SIG SAUER has completed deliveries of multiple systems, comprised of the MG 338 Machine Guns, 338 Norma Mag Ammunition, and Next Generation Suppressors – all researched, designed, engineered, and manufactured by SIG SAUER in the U.S.A.
“The safety certification of the complete SIG SAUER MG 338 system, and delivery of the system to USSOCOM is historically very significant. For the first time in decades the U.S. Military certified a new machine gun, ammunition, and suppressor at the same time, bringing new innovation, portability, and increased lethality to our ground forces, with all components coming from one company,” began Ron Cohen, President and CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “This certification was achieved following the outstanding performance of the complete MG 338 system through the rigors of the extensive function, durability, and safety tests set forth by USSOCOM.”
The SIG MG 338 bridges the gap between the current machine guns currently in use with the U.S. Military. In comparison to the current M240 (7.62x51cal) machine gun, which has been in service with the U.S. Military for 60 years, the SIG MG 338, is noticeably lighter, weighing only 20 pounds, and provides significantly more range and lethality. In comparison to the M2 (.50cal), which has been in service with the U.S. Military for 110 years, the MG 338 is approximately one-quarter the weight, and in a historic first, offers a man-portable solution with similar effective-range. Making this system even more desirable are the new SIG SAUER Next Generation Suppressors which drastically reduces the impact of harmful toxic fumes and signature, making the operator less vulnerable.
The SIG SAUER MG 338 machine gun is a belt-fed, lightweight medium machine gun weighing under 20lbs., chambered in 338 Norma Mag. The MG 338 features a short-stroke gas piston system and a proprietary recoil mitigation system, with a free-floating, quick-change barrel, ambidextrous controls, switchable feed tray, charging handle that can be alternated to either side depending on operator preference, and as a modern, multi-caliber, modular system the new SIG MG 338 is easily convertible to 7.62x51cal.
“We are incredibly proud of this historical accomplishment and honored to have received this safety certification by USSOCOM for the performance of the complete MG 338 system,” concluded Cohen.
Watertown, WI, January 14, 2020 — After fourteen years of dedicated professional work and development in the sound suppressor market, Griffin Armament is proud to introduce the Bushwhacker® 46, a universal sound suppressor designed to maximize feature functionality, performance, and value with a vast selection of caliber compatibility.
The Bushwhacker’s durable 1.375×24 threaded 17-4 stainless steel tube chassis, is supplied with a Griffin Plan-A Taper Mount adapter, Taper Mount muzzle device, and a booster piston housing. These factory inclusions allow the Bushwhacker to quickly and easily be configured for centerfire rifle or handgun use. Its .46 caliber diameter provides end users with the most caliber flexibility possible, while retaining quality sound suppression. .450 Bushmaster, .458 socom, .45-70 Govt, and other large bore calibers are at home with the Bushwhacker 46. Additionally, .30 caliber Paladin blast shield front cap can be interfaced with the Bushwhacker 46 further improving sound performance on the Paladin with 30 caliber and lesser rounds like .308 Win, .300 BLK, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
Sound suppressors can increase in weight and reduce in internal volume, losing performance over time from carbon and copper accumulation. The Bushwhacker features Griffin Armament’s unique, patented Ratchet-lok end cap which provides the user with a robust mechanism to disassemble their suppressor easily for periodic cleaning and maintenance. This consumer demanded technology and the included tools ensure that your investment can be reset to factory weight and sound performance specifications with minor preventative maintenance.
The Bushwhacker 46 also features Griffin’s patented High Efficiency, Dual Purpose baffle technology. HEDP baffles are engineered to provide balanced sound performance on a host of popular calibers and firearms. The bushwhacker’s 6AL4V Titanium HEDP baffles provide impressive sound performance measuring 141dB with full power .450 Bushmaster, 126dB with .300 blackout subsonic, and 130dB with .45 ACP. The 17-4 Stainless tube, front cap and Titanium baffle stack give put the Bushwhacker at 16.3 ounces in its Rifle configuration and 18.1 ounces in a pistol configuration.
Additional accessory support allows the Bushwhacker to be mounted to a myriad of hosts via the 3-lug QD kit, Plan-A XL, or the 1.375×24 A2 adapter. A specialty mount was also designed and manufactured for mounting the Bushwhacker to an unmodified 1928a1 Thompson via the Cutts Compensator.
Performance, Durability, and Versatility are hallmarks of the Griffin Armament brand. These qualities are embodied in the Bushwhacker® 46 and will ensure this universal sound suppressor remains a highly demanded product for years to come.

The American Suppressor Association is spearheading the fight to legalize and deregulate suppressors, and are the front line defense against the anti-suppressor factions that want them banned! Over the past eight years, ASA has actively lobbied in 30 states, fought to ease the archaic restrictions on suppressors in D.C., testified in front of dozens of legislative bodies, hosted countless suppressor demonstrations for legislators, media, and the public, and funded research proving the efficacy of suppressors. As a result of our work, Iowa, Minnesota, and Vermont legalized suppressor ownership, and 18 new states have legalized the use of suppressors while hunting, proposed ATF regulations on suppressor manufacturers were stopped, CLEO sign-offs were removed from all transfers, and transfer times are again beginning to drop.
On Tuesday, November 5th, Democrats took control of both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly. Following Governor Northam’s anti-gun special session in July, one thing is now abundantly clear:
With anti-gunners in control of all three branches of government, the right to own suppressors in Virginia is in jeopardy.
On July 8th, Delegate Mark Levine (D-45) introduced House Bill 4021, which seeks to ban and confiscate all 60,000+ lawfully obtained suppressors in Virginia. The American Suppressor Association was on hand in Richmond to oppose the bill during the special session and testified in opposition to the Virginia State Crime Commission on August 20th. Unfortunately, when the legislature reconvenes in January, we anticipate Delegate Levine’s misguided attempt to ban and confiscate these hearing safety devices to be among the anti-gun priorities that are quickly ushered through the legislature and signed into law.
“In my eight years fighting for suppressors, I’ve never faced a threat this serious,” said Knox Williams, President and Executive Director of the American Suppressor Association. “The American Suppressor Association believes owning a suppressor is a right, not a privilege, and we will fight tooth and nail for that right. Plain and simple, suppressors are a tool that help protect hearing. They are not the nefarious devices that anti-gunners want you to believe they are. Banning them won’t make Virginia safer; in fact, it will make shooting more dangerous for the tens of thousands of law-abiding Virginians who use suppressors to protect themselves from preventable hearing damage.”
The American Suppressor Association is spearheading the fight to defend your right to own suppressors in Virginia. However, we will not win this attack on your Second Amendment rights alone. Our opposition is well organized and incredibly well funded. To counter their campaign, we need your help now more than ever.
We are calling on suppressor owners everywhere to make your voice heard by joining or making a donation to ASA today! Do so now through December 2nd, and you’ll be automatically entered to win one of 12 prizes worth more than $15,000. Your membership makes our voice stronger and provides the funding that allows us to stay active and engaged in this essential fight! Visit CansNotBans.com for details and to enter.
