TacJobs  – Remington Regional Sales Rep – Defense

This is a fulltime position with Remington Defense in Huntsville, Alabama.

Overview:

This person assists the Director, Defense in handling Remington Defense product development, marketing, sales, promotion, forecasting, and competitive analysis. It is also this person’s responsibility to contact, call on, demo products at and support domestic and international customers/end-users. Attendance, set up and assistance at national/International trade shows and events are also part of this job. All of this is accomplished by traveling as needed and within a designated budget.

Responsibilities:

-Promote the sales of all Remington products, determining the best solution/product to meet the customer’s need.
-Initiate and manage all sales within/for assigned region or customers.
-Determine customer needs or gaps within the marketplace for development of both new products and modifications to existing Remington offerings for maximum profitability and sustainability.
-Build and maintain competitive analysis and sales pipeline for assigned region or customers.
-Obtains product market share by working with Business Development to determine product sales strategies.
-Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses.
-Responsive to customer questions and requests regarding company product offerings.
-Act as a process guide to help Remington navigate domestic and international procurement channels.
-Develop appropriate customer contacts, both at the operator and the procurement chain levels, and build good-working relationships with in-country agents.
-Monitor customer orders through the production and delivery process.
-Conduct live fire firearms and ammunition demonstrations, product seminars and training, including but not limited to, product use and employment, product maintenance and care, and target engagements.
-Knowledgeable in safe gun and ammunition handling and instruction skills using a variety of teaching aids to include computer/multimedia hardware and software.
-Attend, set up or manage regional and national trade shows as assigned by the Director, Defense
-Travel, as directed, in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
-Maintain flexibility to respond to any and all assignments called for by the Division Director or the SVP of Firearms.

Qualifications:

-Substantial military experience at NCO level or higher.
-Must have a high level of technical military competence, credibility and personal integrity.
-Helpful if the person has had some exposure to law enforcement, be it on the job training, desired LE employment or family history.
-Essential that the person be familiar with gun / ammunition handling in general and preferred that they be experienced in one or more specialty areas of handguns, rifle or shotguns.
-This person has to be capable to travel away from home no less than 100 nights a year and possible as many as 160.

This Regional Account Manager position is in Durham, North Carolina.

DESCRIPTION: The TAG Regional Account Manager’s responsibility is to develop relationships with military units, customers, supply officers and contracting officers (end users at all levels) within their defined sales territory to grow LCI tactical business by accessing current and future requirements, by being a solutions provider on behalf of the customer. Working knowledge of ballistic eyewear systems, high level of understanding of military language, rank structure & acronyms. Must have basic understanding of US ground combat weapons platforms to include but not limited to pistols, combat rifles, sniper rifles, rockets and mortar systems. Job Objective

Qualifications
1. BS in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in firearms/firearms component product development preferred. Other equivalent education and relevant experience in a product development environment will be considered.
2. Firearms industry experience required, including a fundamental understanding of the engineering principles associated with internal and external ballistics. Other relevant experience in a research environment will be considered.
3. Strong understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics in the firearms industry.
4. Understands military standard requirements and test protocols.
5. Working knowledge of computer aided design and metal working preferred.
6. Three years’ experience as a project manager with a proven ability to creatively drive projects to completion within time and budget constraints.
7. Proven ability to lead a small team as a subject matter contributor and discussion facilitator, not as a task scheduler.
8. Ability to analyze and present technical information and respond to questions from groups of managers and/or clients.

Job Duties
1. Leads key projects, processes and product development activities.
2. Develops and executes test plans for developmental and/or production firearms, and provides final reports.
3. Identifies process gaps and drives creation of new processes.
4. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures, research findings, and progress reporting.
5. Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
6. Works with Sales and Marketing team to identify and pursue market opportunities and provide technical information for creation of sales and marketing materials.
7. Works with the Operations team to review and monitor quality of new product development.
8. Works with the Quality team to define problem areas and implement product improvements based on customer repair/rejection concerns
9. Coordinates as required with internal groups including manufacturing engineering, purchasing, quality control, sales, production, and accounting personnel.
10. Keeps supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
11. Drives product development/improvement of both core products and accessories (technical advisor during product roadmap strategy and manages the management).
12. Performs hands-on work on barrels, firearms, and accessories, including assembly/disassembly, inspection, measurement, and repair/modification
13. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
14. Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
15. Directs and exercises control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
16. Confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.
17. Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.
18. Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on products and systems.
19. Coordinates with the VP of Engineering to evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.

The SOCOM/LE Sales Manager is an integral part to the future success of the Tactical Tailor Sales Team.
