KET Introduces a New Brass Catcher Alternative at TRIGGRCON

Friday, July 26th, 2019

San Jose, CA – July 26, 2019, KET, LLC is introducing a brand new patent-pending device – the Brass-Clip and Brass-Deflector, a traditional brass catcher alternative, at TriggrCon 2019, 4th floor booth. These products form the ideal training aid for military, law enforcement and performance-focused shooters alike, with a lightweight, non-intrusive design that is easy to attach, no capacity maximum, heat resistance, and high quality construction. Additionally, the products are 100% made in the USA  – an exceptional value to consumers, retailing at $32.99 for the complete kit.

TangoDown owner, Jeff Cahill, said “Nice simple design, and a quick inexpensive solution. More time shooting, less time collecting empty brass. Well done”. Founder of KET, Mike Weiss, says “We are excited to debut our new product line at TriggrCon, as we’ve designed a product that solves for limitations that brass catchers have not been able to address.”

BRASS-CLIP

The Brass-Clip firearm accessory comes in two formats, designed to attach to scopes or Picatinny rails. Attachment is simple – just slip a hat or the Brass-Deflector onto this durable clip, and snap the clip onto your firearm – no mounts necessary. In addition to blocking spent ammo from fellow shooters, this solution drops brass casings nearby for quick collection.

Works with: All Scopes and Picatinny rails

Material: 900-series Acetal

Weight: ¼ oz. or less

Colors: Black, Coyote, Wolf Grey, Ranger Green, and Safety Orange

Origin: 100% made in the USA

BRASS DEFLECTOR

The Brass-Deflector works with the Brass-Clip to complete your solution to stop spent ammunition. This unique design has been tested on some of the toughest firearms, and has even proven to stop shotgun shells with ease (check out the video if you haven’t yet). One of the most unique qualities of this light-weight firearm accessory is that it has no capacity maximum, since it is not actually catching the brass, but dropping it directly beneath or next to your firearm for easy cleanup. This innovative design blocks ejected brass without jamming or weighing down your firearm, or overheating – allowing for increased accuracy and safe shooting.

For use with: Brass-Clip

Material: 1000D Cordura

Weight: less than 1 oz.

Colors: Black, Coyote, Wolf Grey, Ranger Green, and Safety Orange

Origin: 100% made in the USA

Sneak Peek Savvy Sniper x Maxim Defense Cobranded QUAD dual QD MS Sling

Thursday, July 25th, 2019

I recently got a sneak peek of a Maxim Defense cobranded version of the Savvy Sniper QUAD dual QD MS Sling. The guys at Maxim tell me this is the preferred sling of those who have been shooting their PDX Carbine. It can be quickly reconfigured from 1 to 2 point use and incorporates bungee material to facilitate shooter range of motion. Additionally, the thumb loop facilitates rapid length adjustment.

Coming soon.

Tenicor ARX LUX OWB Holster

Monday, July 22nd, 2019

Coming to TRIGGRCON, one holster to rule them all!

The ARX LUX from Tenicor is an outside the waistband holster, compatible with a variety of compact weapon lights (the Streamlight TLR7, Surefire XC1-B, XC2, and the Inforce APLc). Retention is not dependent on the light, so the holster still works, even without a light.

Available for the Glock 19 with more models to follow.

Grey Ghost Precision Releases a SIGnificant new offering: GGP320 Slides

Friday, July 19th, 2019

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Precision is excited to announce the release of their newest product line: aftermarket slides for the SIG P320 platform.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

These new slides share the same precision engineering as the GLOCK aftermarket slides that GGP has been manufacturing for the past two years: the GGP17, GGP19 and SPG43. These new slides, dubbed the ‘GGP320’, are an aftermarket upgrade for your SIG P320 series pistol and will available in both compact and full-size lengths.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

Why branch out to support the P320 platform, as opposed to any one of the other striker-fire handgun platforms that have flooded the industry to date? As an end-user focused company, GGP consistently chooses to adapt when equipment requirements shift in the military and law enforcement realms. As the winning handgun of the United States Military Modular Handgun System trials, the M17 and M18 (P320 MHS variants) brought a new level of modularity to the U.S. professional lead farmer, and many Law Enforcement agencies are following suit by adopting it as well. The P320’s ability to be custom tailored to the individual user’s preferences in grip length, grip size, as well as slide length and sight radius are highly desirable options. By offering GGP320 aftermarket slides with a special twist, GGP is giving P320 users another level of customization with measurable results.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

“We are getting more requests from LE officers, DOD agents and professional door kickers that have been issued the newly adopted P320 platform. Some were already using our slides on their issued Glocks, but are now being issued the P320. So, they came back to us and asked for an aftermarket solution that fills their individual needs and requirements for their new sidearm” says Jason Curns, VP of Firearms at Grey Ghost Precision. “Just like our GGP17/19 and SPG43 slides, these GGP320 slides will offer an affordable and attainable option for online shoppers as well as dealers. Forget sending your P320 OEM slide in for costly modification at lengthy lead times, not to mention possibly scrapping your slide if the job isn’t done right. We were able to lighten the slide with aesthetic features, increase grip serrations and improve the coating without compromising function…. its a drop-in install and comes with all the enhancements that professional handgun shooters have come to expect from us.”

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

The first request that GGP received pertained to optics. Some users specifically wanted to use their preferred brand of MRDS optic on their P320, and not be limited to the SIG ROMEO1. Fortunately, GGP had already been down this road. You may recall that GGP engineered a hybrid MRDS optic footprint that simultaneously worked with both the Trijicon RMR or the slightly larger Leupold DeltaPoint Pro; two MRDS platforms that have a proven track record with firearms instructors and red dot users on the streets and on the sand. This dual compatibility optic cut is still featured in the GGP Combat Pistol line as well as the Version 3 and 4 of their GGP19/17 slides, all without the need for bulky adapter plates that raise the optic above the bore axis. GGP brought this same solution to the GGP320 design with the addition of a third box to check: the SIG ROMEO1. You read that right, the GGP320 slide works with the RMR, DPP, and ROMEO1 right out of the box.

As for the aesthetic of GGP320 Version 1, the serrations have been cut with a gradual taper that gets deeper as it progresses up the slide. This machining technique was featured on the GGP17/19 Version 3 slide, and according to GGP, was a crowd pleaser as soon as it launched earlier this year at SHOT Show 2019. It provides the shooter with a more aggressive grip near the top of the slide for press checks and malfunction clearing drills, without interfering or compromising the material thickness of the slide’s rails. The top of the GGP320 features a window cut for weight balance, without allowing the ingress of large foreign debris to enter the slide. The Version 1 will be available in both compact and full length, as well as in either DLC or Cerakote finish.

When asked about the differing finish options, Jason Curns said, “We’ve found that Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) is an ideal finish for pistol slides due to its inherent lubricity and resistance to wear over time. However, with the M17 and M18 issued pistols having a coyote tan grip module, we opted to offer a Cerakote option as well to better match the color and appearance of those frames.”

As for availability, GGP320 slides are available now for preorder on GGP’s website. GGP320 Compact Slides have an MSRP of $418.95 while the Full-Size slides have a $429.99 MSRP. According to GGP, these slides will be shipping by the end of August. “It was vital that we hit the market with serious momentum” said Grey Ghost Precision CEO, Casey Ingels. “We knew the demand for P320 aftermarket slides was going to be high, so we took steps to be first on the block with plenty of stock.” Be sure to subscribe to the Grey Ghost Precision email list to be alerted as more intel becomes available. Velocity Arms Makes Some Unique Glock Barrels

Tuesday, August 28th, 2018

At TRIGGRCON I was introduced to Velocity Arms. After learning about their Glock barrels, I’d have to say that their website (killer innovations) is aptly named.

Using Single Process Technology where the bore, rifling and chamber are cut on one machine.

Tru-Axis machining uses a single-point rifling system in which one machine comprehensively crafts every part of the barrel from start to finish. The rifling alone is accomplished with over eighty miniscule cuts, offering a deviation of less than one ten thousandth of an inch from groove depth to groove depth because they are cut with the same tool.

During this Tru-Axis machining process, the Glock barrels are machined with an 11° target crown, then magnetic particle tested, and finally, coated with a MDC or TiN plating.

Additionally, each barrel comes with a black nitride coated thread protector which extends just past the tip of the barrel to protect the 11° target crown from damage.

Triggrcon 18 – Gen 2 AR15 Spade Grip from KNS Precision

Monday, July 30th, 2018

I love seeing innovative work around for foolish gun laws. Although the Gen 2 AR15 Spade Grip from KNS Precision has been around for awhile, it fits the bill for those who live in areas with firearm feature-focused restrictions. Plus, it looks like a lot of fun.

This newer version of the Spade Grip will fit both semi-auto and full-auto platforms and allows the use of after market enhanced trigger guards and billet receivers which have the trigger guard built in.

Triggrcon 18 – S1-Wright-12 Breaching Shotgun from R&R Targets

Monday, July 30th, 2018

CMC Triggers displayed the S1-Wright-12 from R&R Targets. Although it’s a custom built design which has been used for 3-Gun competitions, this magazine fed, semi-auto, 12 ga shotgun is being evaluated by several SOF and LE organizations for breaching use.

70CB72D1-7EB2-4080-90B9-DF8A002B62E1

I had the opportunity to fire it during Triggrcon Range day and it was quite controllable. If you’re familiar with an AR, you can shoot the S1-Wright-12. It offers the advantage of rapid magazine reloads (12 rounds) and ammunition changes. However, the bolt does not lock to the rear on the last shot like an AR. It was also fitted with a SilencerCo Salvo suppressor and I’m told that those currently evaluating the weapon use suppressed rifles and appreciate its utility.

The charging handle is mounted to the left side of the receiver and the top of the receiver features Mil STD 1913 rail.

The reason CMC Triggers was displaying the gun is that it is equipped with one of their triggers. During development, R&R Targets evaluated triggers from several different triggers, but the CMC AR10 trigger they selected was the only one which could stand up to the repeated hammering of the semi-auto 12 ga.
