Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions we’ve had regarding the magazine.

Is it reliable?

Yes! It should be noted that from the handmade prototypes we made in February and March, through the rounds of pre-production samples, to the final geometry we have today, we have never had a single failure to feed or eject. If the mag fit, it functioned, flawlessly.

What took so long?

While it always takes time to create tooling, what slowed us down is that to our knowledge, this magazine geometry has never been done before, so it took a little extra time for our magazine manufacturer to dial everything in.

Even small adjustments to a magazine design take time to change in tooling and test, and we were unwilling to compromise and release the magazine before it was ready. This is not just a range toy.

When will pre-orders ship?

We expect to begin shipping pre-orders in October; pre-orders will ship in the order they are received.

Do I need a metal mag catch since the magazine is made out of steel?

That depends on the shooter. We are offering an anodized aluminum mag catch for higher volume shooters who are concerned that the steel magazine will wear down the OEM polymer catch. It should be noted that our test guns have OEM mag catches, and we haven’t noticed any reliability issues yet. However, if you shoot enough, there is a possibility of accelerated wear on the catch, so if this is a concern, swap it out.

DSEI 19 – Wilcox Industries Stubby Para Grip

Friday, September 13th, 2019

Apparently, Wilcox is seeing a lot of demand for their weapon grips, between the limited real estate on many carbines causing shooters to modify their grip and the desire to maintain control for barrel thumps and other maneuvers. The Para model is hinged to stow out of the way, it is made of aluminum, so it won’t break off. Attached to Picatinny rails.

The Stubby Para Grip is 4.0″ L x 1.5″ W and weighs 6.56 oz.

CMC Triggers Releases Its Long-Awaited Remington 700 Ultra Precision Trigger “Quality Knows No Boundaries”

Thursday, September 12th, 2019

Fort Worth, Texas: CMC Triggers, the original manufacturer of the AR Drop-in Trigger Group since 2003, today announced the official launch of the CMC Remington 700 Ultra Precision Trigger. Known for creating the best aftermarket match grade triggers for the AR-15, AR-10, AK and more recently the Glock trigger, CMC has expanded their collection to include the new Remington 700 bolt action rifle trigger.

CMC is not the first company to offer an aftermarket Remington 700 trigger, nonetheless, following extensive research and testing, CMC’s Engineers saw a need to improve upon the trigger’s design where others missed the mark.

Obsessed with safety and compelled to apply it, CMC developed their patent pending Over Center Dynamic Locking System (O.C.D. ™ Locking System).  Analysis of existing OEM and aftermarket Fire Control Systems for the Remington 700 platform exposed multiple opportunities to significantly increase the margin of safety provided by the Fire Control Systems safety mechanism, such as:
• Interdependency of trigger pull weight, pre/over travel adjustments, and safety margin
• Unnecessary complexity of the Fire Control System’s safety mechanism design
• Safety mechanism components manufactured using inferior materials and methods
• Safety mechanism acts only on sear

CMC Triggers developed their O. C. D. ™ Locking System to overcome all these safety issues.
• Safety mechanism independent of pull weight adjustment, pre/over travel adjustment
• Safety comprised of a single internal precision S7 Tool steel investment cast component
• Manufactured to a .001″ total tolerance using state of the art manufacturing processes
• Renders all Fire Control System components immobile

Arguably the safest R700 trigger on the market, the CMC Remington Ultra Precision Trigger is an integrated, self-contained trigger assembly with no loose components, and is easily installed requiring no special tools. The CMC Remington Trigger has an adjustable pull weight for long-range precision, tactical use, and hunting. No removal or disassembly of the trigger is required to adjust the weight from 8oz to 3.5lbs. The trigger will come factory set at 2.5lbs.

For ease of trigger installation, the integrated bolt release catch is pre-installed. The trigger and internal components are manufactured from superior S7 tool steel, coated with a proprietary blend of advanced PVD and Hexagonal boron nitride coating giving ultimate corrosion wear-resistance and an ultra-low friction coefficient.

CMC manufactures their Remington Ultra Precision Trigger at its Texas-based state of the art manufacturing facility from CNC-machined aerospace alloy components and CNC-precision tool steel investment castings. Components are finished with cutting edge surface treatments and coating to ensure the highest level of functionality, longevity, and appearance. Like all CMC Trigger’s products, this trigger is exceptionally well made, much more durable than the standard stock Remington trigger, and includes CMC’s Satisfaction Guarantee and Lifetime Warranty.

CMC Triggers Remington 700 Ultra Precision Features:
• Integrated self-contained design
• Easy to Install
• Zero Over Travel & Zero Creep
• Available in CMC patented Flat Trigger Bow or Curved Profile
• O. C. D. ™ Locking System
• Adjustable trigger weight by user whilst installed in rifle
• Adjustability Range is 8oz – 3.5lbs – comes factory at 2.5lbs
• Made from 7070 T6 Aluminum and S7 Tool Steel
• CMC Triggers Lifetime Warranty
• Made in the USA in the Great State of Texas
• Patent Pending O.C.D. ™ Locking System

CMC Triggers modernizes America’s oldest gun manufacture’s bolt action rifle and creates the safest Remington 700 trigger available. Gunsmiths, rifle builders and OEM customers can take advantage of this easy to install rifle upgrade.

CMC Remington 700 Ultra Precision Triggers are shipping now to dealers and distributors across the country and are expected to move quickly. Anyone interested in acquiring their own CMC Remington 700 Ultra Precision Trigger should act now and contact their local dealer.

Lancer Systems Doubles Down On Soldier Safety

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Lancer’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazine provides multiple life-saving features for non-lethal training.

Quakertown, PA – The job of a military service member or law enforcement officer is difficult enough without having to worry about being injured during a routine training exercise. That concern, however, is well-founded based upon the frequency and severity of incidents that occur during simulated combat training. The majority of these injuries – and even deaths – are the result of live ammunition being accidentally introduced into the training environment.

Until recently, training exercises involving blank ammunition or non-lethal marking ammunition still required the use of standard rifle magazines. These magazines can be easily mixed up with magazines containing live ammunition; the results of which can, and do, prove deadly.

Lancer Systems takes soldier safety very seriously and is proud to announce the official launch of their L5AWM® Safety Magazine. These new Safety Magazines are specifically designed with a number of safety features not currently available in any other training magazine, including an updated internal geometry that inhibits even a single round of standard live ammunition from being loading into a rifle. Additionally, the translucent magazine body provides instant visual confirmation of ammunition type and round count, allowing instructors and trainees alike to have complete confidence during training exercises.

Lancer’s L5AWM Safety Magazines are compatible with most M4-pattern weapon platforms chambered in 5.56mm NATO and have been extensively tested and proven to be reliable with non-lethal cartridges from Simunition®, Force on ForceTM, and standard 5.56mm blanks.

For more information and purchasing details, please contact Chuck Vlasek at cvlasek@lancer-systems.com.

Lancer System’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazines inhibit the loading of even a single round of live-fire ammunition and have a translucent body for visual identification of ammunition type and round count.
