With its increased brightness and sleek design, the TL-Racker® is ideal for door breaching, close quarter maneuvers and other tactical operations. “We’ve increased the brightness, reach, and run time of this lightweight, integrated shotgun forend light, while also offering a new model to fit popular Shockwave shotguns, as well as a Less Lethal Orange model for easy identification,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah.  “Each features our innovative, ergonomic design that maximises grip and switch access, while providing extremely bright 1,000 lumen light, all at an affordable price point.  It’s the ideal choice for use with Mossberg and Remington shotguns.”

TLR-1 HL, TLR-2 HL, TLR-2 HL G, and TLR-1 HPL Now Offer 1,000 Lumens

Streamlight Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting devices, announced it has improved the output of four of its TLR® high lumen (HL) gun-mounted lights, including the TLR-1 HL®; the TLR-2 HL®; the TLR-2 HL® G, and the TLR-1 HPL®.  Each model now delivers 1,000 lumens of blinding white light.

“Tactical users and outdoor enthusiasts alike will appreciate the increased brightness of these rugged, yet compact and lightweight TLR models,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “The TLR-1 HL®, TLR-2 HL® and TLR-2 HL® G are designed to provide full situational awareness, offering a wide beam pattern that is similar to a floodlight for a variety of tactical maneuvers such as clearing a dark room, searching alleys, or other outdoor uses.  The high performance TLR-1 HPL® also functions as a high lumen light, while delivering a brighter hotspot which puts more light on a target at a distance.”

In addition to their enhanced lumen capability, the TLR-1 HL®, TLR-2 HL®, and TLR-2 HL® G also now offer 20,000 candela and a 283-metre beam distance, while the TLR-1 HPL® provides 60,000 candela and a 490-metre beam distance. The TLR-2 HL® also is equipped with a 640-660 nanometre integrated red aiming laser for long-range targeting, while the TLR-2 HL® G features a 510-530 nanometre green aiming laser to improve focusing on targets, particularly in daylight.

The upgraded lights feature the latest in LED technology, including a shock-proof high-power LED. All four models also feature strobing capability, offering the added benefit of being able to signal in the field or disorient targets. The enhanced TLR models can be quickly and safely attached to most weapons, without the need for users to put their hands in front of the muzzle. They mount directly to all MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails and handguns with Glock-style rails, and offer highly accurate sight repeatability when remounting.  A key kit with six interchangeable keys is included to securely fit each light to the broadest array of rails. All of the models are fabricated from 6000 series machined aluminum, feature impact-resistant construction and have been extensively live-fired tested. They each use two included 3-volt, CR123A lithium batteries.

The TLR-1 HL® weighs 122.5 grams with batteries, while the TLR-2 HL® and the TLR-2 HL® G both weigh 138.3 grams with batteries; all three lights measure 8.6cm in length. The TLR-1 HPL® weighs 158.8 – 167.3 grams and measures 12.2 – 13.3cm with batteries, using a standard or remote switch, respectively.

The TLR-1 HL® and TLR-1 HPL® are IPX7 rated for waterproof operation to 1 metre for 30 minutes, while the TLR-2 HL® and TLR-2 HL® G offer an IPX4 rated design for water-resistant operation.

The SureFire SF3P-50BMG

Thursday, May 14th, 2020

Fountain Valley, CA—SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce the release of the SF3P-50BMG-M2HB and SF3P-50BMG-M2A1 flash hiders, designed specifically for use with M2 .50-caliber machine guns.

Muzzle flash is the bane of any infantryman. It provides a clear target indicator for the enemy to know your position and return fire. SureFire SF3P-50BMG flash hiders are engineered to reduce flash signature by an astounding 99.7 percent, concealing the shooter’s position and increasing warfighter survivability. In addition, they help preserve night-adapted vision and prevent the disruption of Night Vision Devices. Their robust design easily withstands the violence of .50 BMG, requires no modification to the weapon system and has no detrimental effect on weapon reliability. With models for standard non-threaded barrels (SF3P-50BMG-M2HB) and threaded barrels (SF3P-50BMG-M2A1), these flash hiders are tools no Ma Deuce should be without.

Constructed of U.S. mill-certified bar stock and machined to the most precise tolerances, the SF3P-M2HB utilizes a sleeve that mounts to the weapon system. A heat-treated chromoly coupler provides maximum attachment strength for secure attachment to the non-threaded barrel of the M2HB. DLC and nitride coatings ensure corrosion resistance and long service life. The SF3P-M2A1 is the ideal flash hider for the M2A1 weapon platform. Its high-precision single-point cut threads quickly and easily thread to the weapon’s barrel, and its DLC coating provides maximum protection against harsh environmental conditions and facilitates cleaning after extreme use.

XS Sights Introduces Second Generation XTI DXS Ember Standard Dot Offset Iron Sights for AR-15 Rifles

Wednesday, May 13th, 2020

Fort Worth, TX (May 13, 2020) – XS® Sights is pleased to introduce the XTI®2 DXS® Ember Standard Dot® 45-Degree Offset Iron Sights for AR-15 rifles. The second generation XTI2 sights are a close-quarters, secondary sighting solution for rapid transition from a magnified primary optic. Eliminating the need to adjust magnification reduces target engagement time when every fraction of a second counts.

The XTI2 features taller bases than its predecessor for easier sight alignment without having to break a standard cheek weld, and the base angle has been increased to accommodate wider lens optics. The front sight measures 0.140” wide and now features an Orange Ember Glow Dot for increased visibility.

“Our new XTI2 express sights are engineered for rapid sight acquisition in close quarters,” said Zack Kinsley, Product Marketing Manager for XS Sights.  “These advanced offset iron sights are also ideal for 3-gun competitions when targets are close – within pistol range and where magnified optics make target identification more difficult.  XS’s proprietary Orange Ember Glow technology provides a high contrast front sight in bright light and is instantly charged by the sun’s UV rays, causing it to glow in shadows and low light settings such as vehicles.”

XTI2 sight sets are mounted in front of the primary optic to reduce snagging on chest rings.   The sights ship with thread locker and a front sight adjustment tool.

MSRP: $180.00

First Colorado Agency Implements Viridian Gun Cameras

Monday, May 11th, 2020

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – May 11, 2020 – The Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Office has deployed the FACT Duty™ Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC™). Sheriff Tom Ridnour has been working to equip his force for modern policing over the last year. Every sworn deputy of the Eastern Colorado county now has a Weapon-Mounted Camera in the field to compliment body cameras.

The rural force is responsible for patrolling over 2,000 square miles that includes the border with Kansas. Sheriff Ridnour has been working to implement Viridian gun cameras, and was able to get them deployed on March 1 of this year. That timing coincided with the first time footage from Viridian’s gun camera was used in an officer-involved shooting (OIS) trial in Texas. A jury quickly convicted the defendant of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public official. The WMC provided the critical evidence in the case by showing the defendant pointing a sawed-off shotgun at Vernon, Texas Police Corporal T.J. Session.

“The Weapon-Mounted Cameras provide a new layer of visibility and perspective for our deputies,” said Sheriff Ridnour. “As a rural force, we cover a huge area with a limited number of personnel. The range of responsibilities our deputies have is equally as great—and knowing we now have the FACT Duty gun cameras in the field gives us even more coverage and awareness.”

Viridian has created an important category for law enforcement with the introduction of the Weapon-Mounted Camera. This distinctive camera provides an unobstructed view of critical use-of-force events from the end of the firearm, addressing limitations officers can face with body cameras.

“Sheriff Ridnour has been dedicated to bringing the latest technologies to his department, and we’re thrilled he added the FACT Duty,” Viridian President and CEO, Brian Hedeen, said.  “Our technology can be a supplement or alternative to body cameras as a mandatory evidentiary tool to provide the critical evidence in an officer involved shooting. We commend Sheriff Ridnour for being the first to deploy in Colorado and wish him and his deputies the best during these unprecedented and challenging times for all first responders.”

The highly advanced WMC employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster. Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, but it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment.

More information on the FACT Duty can be found here or by contacting Viridian directly at sales@ViridianWeaponTech.com.
