In addition to a new website with improved navigation, Bad Company Tactical has introduced two new 18 series holsters; the Chapman and Curreri. We have some info on the Curreri.

Curreri

curreri

The Curreri holster is named in remembrance of SSG J. Curreri of 1st Special Forces Group. It is a standard concealment holster that can be placed inside or outside the waistband and is based on the “less is more” approach with its’ simple design and level 1 retention.

During a recent trip to San Antonio we met with Toby Melville and he showed us a few other items.

Fitted Universal Guard

BCT Fitted Universal Cover

Made from Kydex, the Universal Fitted Trigger Guard accepts a pistols fitted with the R2S Pistol Adapter. It is make and model specific for pistol and light as well as specific for either right or left handed users.

Rifle Rail Adapters

These Picatinny compatible R2S Rifle Rail Adapters come in two sizes, Regular and Long. Designed to support up to 200 lbs, these can be reversed Left or Right and the dovetail design slips right into the baseplate which can be attached to a load carriage platform or vehicle for transport, or a wall for storage.

Utility Adapters

Bad Company Tactical (12)

Offered in both Vertical and Horizontal (seen above) models, BCT’s R2S Utility Adapters bring the dovetail attachment to other equipment than just small arms. You can use heavy duty zip ties to attach the Utility Adapter to your gear and mount the baseplate virtually anywhere. In the case below, it’s bolt cutters and Halligan Tool attached to a Jedburgh assault pack but, the applications are limited solely by your imagination.

U.S. Ordnance M60E6 Wins Royal Danish Army GPMG Replacement Program

Tuesday, March 11th, 2014

The Royal Danish Army recently announced it has selected the U.S. Ordnance M60E6 as its new General Purpose Machine Gun through its GPMG Replacement Program, the trials for which have been held since last year.

m60e6

The M60E6 was one of two finalists in the program, along the HK121. The M60E6 was chosen for the benefits it holds over the current M/62 MG3 which has been in use with the Danish Army since 1962:

– Weighs 9.35 kg, approx. 3 kg lighter than the M/62, with better weight distribution
– Better control of alternative shot positions, such as kneeling and standing
– Lower ROF of 550 RPM when compared with the M/62’s 1200 RPM, which improves shooter accuracy, reduces ammunition consumption, and significantly minimizes the risk of collateral damage
– Single shot capability
– Reduced recoil
– Picatinny rails allows for the addition of accessories such as tactical lights, lasers, etc.
– Stable adjustable stand
– Fast barrel change is possible without the use of gloves

Approximately 700 LMGs have been purchased, which are scheduled for delivery starting late 2014. Additionally, the Danish Army is also in the process of obtaining an optics and sensor package for the new LMG, including unspecified daylight optics, thermal optics, red dot optics, tactical lights, tactical lasers, and laser range finders. This package is expected to be delivered starting 2015.

CAA Tactical Is Providing Bipod Grips For The IDF

Tuesday, March 11th, 2014

BPP GRIP HD item4

Reportedly, CAA Tactical has supplied thousands of bipod grips for the regular and reserve Infantry Corps of the IDF. The model or models provided aren’t specified, although the grips attach via Picatinny rail and are intended for the Tavor and M16 rifles currently in service with the IDF. The image above is of the BPP GRIP HD, one of CAA’s bipod grips of an aluminum and polymer construction.

According to Moshe Oz, the owner of CAA Tactical: “The use of the bipod grips will improve the level of marksmanship in the IDF significantly and at a low cost relatively to the expected improvement. The bipod grip is especially suited for infantry fighter and less for a designated marksman or a sniper due to the speed at which the bipods open, that allows faster shooting than with an ordinary bipod. We are currently participating in the tender for the sale of tens of thousands of bipod grips for a Western country.”
