Cadex is introducing the new Strike Lite Chassis. Featuring a smaller tube than its predecessor it is both more compact and lighter yet retains all of the features of the standard Strike Chassis. In fact, it weighs in at 6.1 lbs with Mil Std 1913 rails or 5.8 lbs without. Additionally, Cadex offers a butt pad extender as well as a sandbag rest that can replace the rear monopod. One additional feature is the incorporation of back up screws in the chassis in case you lose one on a mission.
Finally, Cadex has changed the sling attachment point. It is no longer incorporated directly into the chassis but rather comes as a rail adaptor. This new adaptor will also fit the XM2010 chassis.
Unity Tactical’s upcoming EXO is a replacement mount with an integrated action guard designed to allow SureFire X200, X300, and X300U weapon lights to be run on long guns. It is constructed from strong impact resistant polymer and is intended as a direct replacement for the standard plastic frame rails. The EXO is 100% made in the USA. It should be released later this month.

This is a guest post from a local friend of SSD, Carlo Galinato as he discusses the HIT Sling from Advanced Gunslinger Armament, a company owned by a Navy SEAL. The market is rife with slings. They are a commodity item. I’m sure that someone is going to come long and tell us that their buddy developed a sling similar to this one. That’s ok. Your buddy didn’t invent the sling either. Some of you other guys might see this and decide it’s worth checking out.
When shopping for a sling, shooters usually choose between a single point and a two point sling, evaluating the pros and cons of each system to see which fit their needs the best. There are various hybrid slings currently on the market that allow the user to switch between a single point and a two point sling setup. Most of these hybrid slings lack the retention needed when transitioning between the two. This is where the Hybrid Instant Transition (HIT) Sling comes into play and fills that retention deficiency.
Advanced Gunslinger Armament (AGA) is a SOF Veteran owned company and is the creator of the HIT Sling. Developed through multiple deployments by a Navy SEAL, the HIT Sling has undergone various revisions and improvements to the production version you see today. The HIT Sling is the only sling on the market that allows the shooter to instantly transition from a two point sling to a single point sling all while never losing the retention of the firearm. AGA accomplishes this instant transition through the help of Blue Force Gear’s RED swivel.
I’ve taken the sling with me through a couple of carbine courses along with a dozen range visits over the last three months. The ease of carrying a carbine in two point configuration coupled with the ability to shoot freely in single point setup is quite uplifting. In the past, I primarily utilized a padded two point sling for most of the shooting that I do. Although I have not felt any difference in comfort with the HIT sling’s non-padded one inch nylon webbing, AGA has informed me that they plan on releasing a version with 1.25in or 1.5in nylon webbing for those wanting more comfort. The researching of quality components along with a test bed of SOF members has proved this sling to be a powerful contender for those wanting the best of both worlds.

In the interest of safety, we present this M&P SHIELD Safety Alert just in case you didn’t see this plastered all over the internet.
Smith & Wesson has identified a condition where the trigger bar pin could damage the lower trigger in certain M&P Shields in a way that may affect the functionality of the drop safety feature of the firearm, potentially allowing the pistol to discharge if it is dropped.
STOP USING YOUR FIREARM UNTIL IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND, IF THE CONDITION IS FOUND, REPAIRED.
If you own an M&P Shield manufactured before August 19th (meaning all of the ones on the street) then you need to refrain from using it until it is inspected.
STOP USING YOUR FIREARM UNTIL IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND, IF THE CONDITION IS FOUND, REPAIRED.
Your firearm must be inspected to determine whether it exhibits the condition identified in this notice. To determine whether your firearm is affected by this condition, please inspect your firearm as show in this video.

In case you couldn’t tell by the name Poly80 is a new company that specializes in 80% lower receivers which have recently gained in popularity as a DIY project. As of this writing they are not considered firearms until completed and you can finish them for your own use without registering them with the ATF as a manufacturer. You also need to be able to legally possess that particular type of firearms (local laws obviously apply). Nether we nor Poly80 are lawyers but they do offer some background on this issue that will help you with your own research.
The receivers are offered in Black, Sand, Green and Pink and can be completed with simple tools such as Dremel tools and drills. Unlike the aluminum versions, these polymer lowers can be completed without the use of jigs to align the drill.
To mark their launch, Poly80 is offering the chance to win one of five 80% lowers that they are giving away. See their site for details.
And this, well this is pretty funny.
