Gorilla Ammunition is now selling a .300BLK Subsonic cartridge featuring the 208gr Hornady A-MAX bullet. This highly accurate cartridge is great for hunting and practice alike, and, being subsonic, is best used with a suppressor.
You can check out the ballistics of the new cartridge using the table below. The data was measured in Gorilla Ammunition’s own ballistic lab utilizing a Daniel Defense DDM5v5 chambered for 300 BLK w/ 16″ barrel and AAC SDN-6 suppressor. The velocity was measured using Oehler System 85 Ballistic Instrumentation.

I had an opportunity to visit Rifle Dynamics just last Friday and Jim Fuller mentioned that they were launching a YouTube channel. He wasn’t kidding.
Looking forward to seeing more!
In a reply to an inquiry made by a Law Enforcement Officer, the ATF’s Firearms Technology Branch determined that an AR-15 style pistol fired from the shoulder when equipped with an accessory such as the SIG Sauer SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace would not cause the pistol to be reclassified as an SBR. It has been previously determined through FTB # 99146 that placing a receiver extension of an AR-15 style pistol on the user’s shoulder does not change the classification of the weapon. Additionally, certain accessories such as the SB15 Pistol Stability Brace aren’t classified as shoulder stocks, and as such even improper use doesn’t constitute a design change. The FTB does note, however, that they can’t recommend using a weapon or weapon accessory in a manner not intended by the manufacturer.
Although decisions can be reversed at any time, this response is clearly in line with the SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace as being “ATF Approved” prior to its sale.

Allentown, PA – March 31, 2014 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit. The kit is designed for law enforcement agencies and individual officers who want to add the speed advantage of the Lancer L15 lower receiver and the reliability of the Lancer L5AWM magazine to an existing patrol rifle.
The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit, which comes in both stripped and complete versions, enables an officer to continue to use his or her own upper receiver. Each kit includes three translucent L5AWM magazines; one of each of the 10-, 20- and 30-round capacities. The design and control configuration of the kit allows the user to carry an additional 30 rounds of ammunition and reload in under two seconds.
The stripped kit includes a semi-assembled L15 lower receiver with tactical magazine well, FAB Defense GL stock, and Lancer Single Point Sling Mount. The receiver is delivered with the pivot pin, bolt release and magazine release pre-installed. The complete lower kit comes assembled and ready for an upper receiver. Kits start at $384.98 MSRP.
“So far, the feedback we’ve received from law enforcement agencies and through training seminars focused on the Active Shooter Response Kit has been incredibly positive,” said Ty Weaver, Director of Special Operations & Training, Lancer. “Officers are constantly telling us they need a way to make their rifles lighter, faster and more accurate. Many times, however, budget constraints do not allow for entirely new equipment purchases. The kits provide officers immediate improvements to their current weapons to better ensure their safety out on the street.”
The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit is the second product launch of Lancer’s new Special Operations Division, a segment of the Advanced Weapons & Components business area with an expansion of offerings specialized for military and law enforcement personnel. The division’s initial product launch was the Lancer Single Point Sling Mount, an exclusive attachment accessory featured in the new Active Shooter Response Kit and currently in use by a US Navy Special Mission Unit.
In this latest episode of KAC-TV, they cover the SOF Combat Assault Rifle as well as KAC’s two submissions for that program. The first, the SCAR SLICK or SOF Lightweight Individual Carbine Kalashnikov is not well known and integrated several interesting features including a monolithic upper receiver, modular lower receiver and a Kalashnikov-style bolt.
In the video, Trey Knight also takes us through their more conventional submission that more closely resembles a Stoner AR-style weapon. They did this in order to capitalize on the muscle memory SOF personnel have with the ergonomics of the AR. Interestingly, both weapons offered the option of using the Stoner 63 magazine which presents a more pronounced curve that the standard AR magazine.
The video is definitely worth a look.
This episode also has the distinction of introducing Jack Leuba as he joins KAC TV as the primary host, replacing Trey Knight.
Jack Leuba joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997 as a Rifleman, beginning his secondary military occupational specialty of Marksmanship Coach in 1999, and Combat Marksmanship Instructor in 2002. In 2005, following two combat deployments to Iraq he was assigned to Weapons Training Battalion Quantico with the task of assisting in the creation and implementation of the USMC Combat Marksmanship Program, as well as the Foreign Weapons Instructor and Trainer Courses. During his time in Quantico he became involved in competitive practical shooting to bolster and validate the concepts and techniques taught in the programs and classes under his charge. His experience and knowledge of small arms were frequently referred to by internal and external agencies for weapons testing, product development, acquisitions, training, and training curriculum development. In 2007, Jack was selected to be the USMC’s Marksmanship Liaison to the British Royal Marines. While working for the MoD, he assisted in the creation and implementation of three separate official programs of instruction, and provided individual instruction and training to numerous MoD units and agencies. Upon return from the UK he was again deployed for combat operations in Afghanistan with the USMC.
Jack has successfully completed numerous courses and military occupational specialty schools, to include: Marksmanship Coaches Course, Combat Marksmanship Instructor Course, Small Arms Weapons Instructor Course, Formal School Instructor Course, Close Quarters Battle School, Foreign Weapon Instructor Trainer Course, and the USMC High Risk Personnel Course. Personal awards include the Bronze Star with Combat “V” and the Meritorious Service Medal.
Following his departure from the DoD, Jack formed a tactics and firearms training and consulting company with another Marine Corps veteran. Jack brings his enthusiasm for imparting knowledge, technical skill, experience in the military and civilian firearms training, and expertise in the contemporary employment of small arms in a military context to KAC.

Sig Sauer hasn’t made any official announcements yet, but they’re now manufacturing their own ammunition under the ‘Sig Sauer Elite Performance’ line. The ammo is loaded with Sig’s proprietary “V-Crown” bullet, and is manufactured in Eubank, Kentucky in a Sig-owned facility. Lucky Gunner managed to get a hold of a few boxes of the first batch of ammo in the following calibers: .380 ACP, 9mm Para, .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and .45 ACP, and performed limited testing on all except the .357 Sig. Groups were fired for accuracy, measured velocity on a chronograph, and performance through ballistic gelatin.
