Sunday, December 15th, 2013AVA Tactical Benelli M4 Light Mount
Friday, December 13th, 2013Disappointed with the current offering of flashlight mounts for the Benelli M4 shotgun, AVA Tactical made their own low-profile, ambidextrous mount. The Benelli M4 mount is made from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hard coat anodized with high quality Torx fasteners. It accommodates both 1″ and .8″ lights, tested with SureFire’s E Series, Scout, and 6 Series lights. It features a rotation limited quick disconnect Sling Boss. A low-profile rail with snag free design provides an option to mount an aiming laser on axis with the barrel. Also, AVA’s M4 mount doesn’t interfere with assembly and disassembly of the M4, allowing the shotgun retain its ability to be field striped without tools. Made in the USA.

CMMG Introduces The CMMG Mk3 CBR (Carbine Battle Rifle)
Wednesday, December 11th, 2013Fayette, MO — The Mk3 CBR (Carbine Battle Rifle) is chambered in .308 WIN/7.62x51mm NATO and is precision-built to deliver the relentless functionality that CMMG rifles are known for. The Mk3 CBR is an ideal rifle for long-range shooting or close-quarters action and because it’s built with CMMG’s premium manufacturing requirements, it gives shooters the chance to own a high-end AR rifle at a practical price.
The Mk3 CBR features the free float RKM15 KeyMod hand guard that measures 15 inches in length to accommodate a wide range of hand positions and allows users to attach an assortment of different accessories. The KeyMod slots are located at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions with a 1913 Picatinny rail on top to give the hand guard an array of mounting options.
The KeyMod system is the new industry standard for mounting accessories. It is a simple, comfortable and lightweight solution that offers users a low profile mounting alternative to the M1913 Picatinny rail. The KeyMod system presents a new level of customization, as it allows the direct attachment of compatible accessories without the use of intermediate M1913 Picatinny rails. For accessories that are not yet KeyMod compatible, users can purchase a separate CMMG 5-slot Picatinny adapter rail that can be easily attached to any of the KeyMod slots for optimal placement of the accessories.
The Mk3 CBR rifle is constructed with a hard anodized, billet 6061-T6 aluminum receiver. A 416 stainless barrel was selected and features a nitride finish that provides the barrel with long lasting accuracy and corrosion resistance. CMMG’s medium taper (MT) barrel is the perfect balance between weight and rigidity. The rifle also includes a CMMG SV muzzle brake, designed to reduce recoil and increase muzzle control for quick and manageable follow-up shots.
By partnering with other industry leaders, the Mk3 CBR has some of the best components available to complete the rifle. Some of these parts include a Geissele Automatics SSA 2-stage trigger, a Magpul ACS-L collapsible butt stock and Magpul MOE pistol grip. The rifle also comes with a Magpul 20 LR PMAG with a 20 round capacity. The combination of all of these features creates one of the most capable and affordable .308 WIN rifles available.

Tuesday, December 10th, 2013Treaper Ltd – 3HGR
Tuesday, December 10th, 2013The 3HGR is a combination sling and gun rest with an adjustable support strap. The support strap allows the user to quickly attach their rifle to a tree, post, or other similar object for additional stability. A flexible spandex component in the 3HGR enables the adjustment of the firing line and the ability to shoot a moving target while strapped to a support.
The 3HGR attaches to the swivel stud found on most standard rifles, however it also works with most bipod models thanks to the sling swivel stud located in the bottom of the gun rest. It can also be used as a traditional gun sling, or adjusted to be used as a shoulder harness or safety sling.
Prototype GLOCK Sights from Vickers Tactical
Monday, December 9th, 2013As many of you know, Larry Vickers has a set of sights for the GLOCK coming through a collaboration with Wilson Combat. This is a prototype but the final production ones will be very simila; the hole at the bottom is for a tritium dot allowing for a dot on top of dot tritium sight picture. The rear sight is a “U”-shaped affair with scalloped sides. So far, LAV has made no mention of the front sight.
According to LAV, GLOCK plastic sights go they have 4 issues:
1) they are plastic so are easily marred
2) the rear sight notch is too narrow for the front sight so there is very little to no light on either side of the front site
3) the white u notch rear site draws your attention to the rear sight vs the front site
4) with a proper sight picture the bottom 25% of the white dot on the front site is cut off so many shooters subconsciously elevate the front site in order to see a complete dot- thus shooting high
Vickers feels that the fact that they are plastic is really the least of their problems. He commented, “They are simply poorly designed pistol sights – period.”
