Gerber Reimagines Backcountry Meals With New Multi-Tools: Compleat & Devour

July 23rd, 2018

PORTLAND, OREGON (July 23rd 2018) – GERBER, an industry-leading manufacturer of knives, multi-tools, and gear, announced today the introduction of two new multi-tools to cleverly streamline dining in the backcountry: the ComplEAT and the Devour. The first look at both products comes at Outdoor Retailer 2018 in Denver, Colorado, ahead of the products’ launch in early 2019. Both products are available in 4 distinct colors that aim to appeal aesthetically to the outdoor enthusiast: Silver, Flat Sage, Onyx, and Burnt Bronze. The ComplEAT Cook Eat Clean tool retails for $24.99 and the Devour Multi-Fork retails for $14.99.

“The goal was to create a multi-tool that addressed the entire eating process while in the backcountry: preparing food, eating, and cleaning up after,” says Eric Moore, Product Manager at Gerber. “Gerber presents two complimentary solutions to multi-task around the campfire or on the trail. The Devour is a minimalist tool at less than 1 ounce, with a removable solid state tool that mounts to the back and kickstands the tool to keep it off dirty surfaces and out of your cooking pot. The ComplEAT focuses on the organization of dedicated tools, working independently as well as configuring to a tong to bring the convenience of a home kitchen to the wild. Don’t go hungry with two solutions to keep your adventures nourished and Unstoppable.”

On the trail, the most important meal of the day is the meal you are about to eat. The ComplEAT tool has the bases covered with a long tine fork, deep basin spoon, dual-edge spatula, and 4 function multi-tool that nest for transport as well as snap together to convert into functional tongs. The multi-tool includes a bottle opener, veggie peeler, serrated package opener, and a can opener. Cook, eat, clean and get back out there.

The refreshed fork design doesn’t compromise function, and the detachable solid state tool offers 6 functions while keeping your multi-fork out of the dirt or pot with a unique kickstand design.

July 23rd, 2018

Former Police Chief, Technology Veteran Gary Blair Joins Spirit of Blue Board of Directors.

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK – July 19, 2017 – The Spirit of Blue Foundation is pleased to announce that Gary Blair has joined its Board of Directors and is serving in the role of Board Chairman.  Blair has a rich blend of military, law enforcement, corporate and non-profit experience that makes him a perfect fit for this role with the Foundation.  As Chairman of the Board, he will lead the organization through a new round of strategic planning, development of the Board and will spearhead the fundraising effort to ensure the stability and longevity of the Foundation.

“For the majority of my career I have had the opportunity to work in and with many agencies in the law enforcement community. My passion has always been to support, enable and protect the safety of the men and women of law enforcement. This role enables me to continue that passion,” commented Gary Blair.

Gary Blair began his career in the United States Air Force Security Forces.  Upon being discharged he started his law enforcement career as a police officer in the State of Ohio.  He rose to the rank of Chief of Police.  Gary then took his expertise in organized crime investigations to the insurance industry, creating anti-fraud programs for insurers in the United States, Canada and Europe.  He then served as a senior executive for three property casualty companies in the areas of claims and operations.  He returned to government service in the State of Michigan as a Division Director for the Michigan State Police and then CIO for Michigan’s Public Protection Agencies with the department of Information Technology.  Additionally, he worked at Oracle and Hewlett Packard developing and implementing technology solutions for law enforcement.  Gary currently consults through his firm Way Forward LLC, serves on the board of the Child and Family Services of Northwestern Michigan, and now chairs the Spirit of Blue Foundation Board of Directors.

Jurassic World Exodus – Wide Release July 30

July 22nd, 2018

“Jurassic World Exodus” is a Fallen Kingdom fan film set in between both “Jurassic World” movies.

What makes this film different is that it is a collaboration between folks from the film and acting community teamed with some familiar faces in the firearms industry.

They include Travis Haley, Garandthumb, Truexodus along with actors Shannon Corbeil (USAF vet), Barret James (SEALTEAM CBS) and Jamie Costa (Han Solo fan film). Together, they create an interesting dynamic on and off screen.

209B87F7-9169-4CBD-B2CB-841AA5F9D32E

The basic premise is that former USAF Operators Mike (Garandthumb) and Neal/Doc (Jamie) get sent to the island to recover Masrani and INGEN tech. They go missing and the SSRG run by Hex (Travis Haley) are sent in with an INGEN liaison to find them. Theres a lot for dinosaur and gun fans alike!!!

The making of this project was an adventure all in itself! In addition to collaborating with the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, Haley Strategic, Holosun, PTS, Kriss USA, MTEK and many other companies helped out the production.

The film launches on their Facebook page and Youtube on July 30.
