Attention US Military Retirees – Your Current Dental Program Is Going Away – Sign Up For The New One, Plus Vision Insurance

If you’re a military retiree like me, you’ve been using the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program through Delta Dental, but that’s going away at the end of this year.

Instead, we’re eligible to enroll in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). In addition to dental insurance, we can also get vision coverage which is a welcome addition for me as I started wearing glasses a few years ago.

New coverage will begin 1 January, 2019, but you will not be automatically enrolled in a FEDVIP plan for 2019. It is imperative you enroll during the Federal Benefits Open Season, which is November 12–December 10, 2018.

After consulting with my dentist regarding which plans he accepts, I took the plunge the other day. I didn’t need any existing passwords for MyPay or DEERS. The website was easy to use and within 15 minutes I had enrolled in both dental vision plans for myself and my dependents, and that time included comparing available plans.

You can’t ignore this. Once again, if you don’t enroll, you’ll lose your coverage.

”They Shall Not Grow Old”

”They Shall Not Grow Old” is a documentary on World War One by the famed Peter Jackson. The film was funded by 14-18 NOW and the Imperial War Museums in association with the BBC, debuting last month during the London Film Festival.

A limited US theatrical release is planned for December 17 and 27, before ending up on VOD. The meticulously restored and colorized vintage film will presented in both 2D and 3D.

The use of Tweave Durastretch® offered everything we wanted for this jacket. Its characteristics were ideal to meet our performance requirements for this category of outerwear. You have great mobility, high abrasion resistance against brush, and breathes so well, that the user could keep it on during aerobic activities in cool to cold weather. From high alpine activities, tracking, snowshoeing, ski touring, this shell was designed so the user wouldn’t have to take it off and keep going. Some in our industry consider this type of textile a soft-shell, but this Tweave Durastretch does not have a laminate backing and therefore more breathable than any 2L or 3L fabrics. The DWR finish shrugs off drizzle and snowfall. While not a rain-shell, the Iliad Field Jacket handles a wide variety of outdoor conditions and remains exceptionally comfortable.
