New Nikki Turpeaux DVD From Panteao

Marker Panel, Individual, LW Mk1 Now Available In MultiCam Alpine

Battle System LLC’s Marker Panel, Individual, LW Mk1 is now available in MultiCam Alpine for winter and mountain use. I am a huge fan of the MPILW and I think it should be standard issue for everyone. It’s lightweight, durable and effective, transforming from a compact 2.5″ x 2.5″ x .75″ to a full 17″ x 17″ reversible to orange for signaling.

Win an Arc’teryx LEAF Alpha Gen 2 Set

Arc’teryx LEAF just introduced the new Alpha Gen 2 line consisting of Jacket, Pant and Pant Bib which integrate new improved features. Now, they want to give you a set.

For Alpha Gen 2 Line Arc’teryx has completely redesigned all three garments with the Jacket dropping some weight through fewer seams and narrower seam tape, glued-in zippers and lighter Gore-tex fabric in the hood of the Alpha Jacket. The Pant and Bib both feature glued pockets and waterproof side zips that route aft of the knee allowing movement with the zips open.

Sizes Small – XXLarge, offered in Black, Crocodile, Wolf and MultiCam.

The Contest

Grip Pod At The Range

Grip Pod is a vertical foregrip integrated with an expandable, internal bipod. It allows the operator to go from a CQB position to prone, and have a stable base for armed firing in place before hitting the ground.

In a previous article, we covered having range time with the Alexander Arms ‘Alexa’ AR-15 at C2 Shooting Center, and we mentioned using the GPS.LE with the weapon. In addition to the GPS.LE, we also had the opportunity to check out other products in the grip pod line.

The GPS.02 is the military model of the Grip Pod. The grip is made from reinforced polymers, while the legs are stainless steel covered with hardened polymer.

Dual Light Rail

The Grip Pod Dual light Rail is a module that attaches to the Grip Pod System, allowing the user to have a rear-activating button tactical light or laser without a pressure pad cord system.

Additionally, it has been brought up that the noise the Grip Pod system makes when the bipod is deployed can alert to the operator’s presence. This image shows that by slowly deploying the bipod legs against one’s leg, the sound signature can be reduced.

An Homage To Kilroy

My friend Dave Hall and artist Elwood’Woody’ T. Risk pay homage to Kilroy as they raise money to film the documentary ‘Until It Hurts‘ about this unique piece of art of the same name.

On September 11, 2012, a Navy SEAL Sniper (SOCS Dave Hall, USN, Ret.) fired a .308 Remington 700 custom built for him by another former SEAL Sniper (SOCS Chris Higgins) at a humanoid target from 911 yards. The goal was to strike the black (scoring) part of the target 79 times (once for each fallen NSW member since 9-11). ‘Until It Hurts’ is the result of that effort.

SWAT-T (Stretch, Wrap, And Tuck-Tourniquet)

Developed by a former SOF Medic, the SWAT-T is a multi-function tourniquet and trauma care device. While useful as a tourniquet, the SWAT-T also can be used as a pressure dressing and elastic bandage, and can be applied more rapidly and higher into the groin and axilla than other more traditional tourniquets. The SWAT-T also takes less space, costs lest, and thanks to its intuitive design requires less training than traditional tourniquets. I gotta tell you, I like the SWAT-T. It’s the only occlusive tourniquet that I know about so it can be used as a tourniquet or a pressure dressing.

The SSK Industries .950 JDJ – The Largest Centerfire Rifle Ever Made

The .950 JDJ is the largest centerfire rifle ever made, built by SSK Industries of Ohio. Weighing in at 50 lbs., the rifle featured in the video is only the prototype variant, one of three total rifles built; the other two weigh in at 110 lbs. The JDJ fires a .95 caliber 2400 grain bullet at 2100 fps using 240 grains of powder, which generates 25,400 ft/lbs of muzzle energy and 277 ft/lbs of recoil energy.

Simply put, it’s extremely heavy, kicks like a mule, you’d be paying $40/cartridge, and you know you want one.
