TILO+MG

The TILO series, the world’s smallest thermal imaging goggles, has enjoyed great popularity for around a year. With only 100g and 4cm length this device is by far without competition. The next larger device, the FLIR Breach, is twice as long and more than twice as heavy.Since the introduction of the TILO-6 with its 640×512 thermal sensor, Andres is also leading in the field of image resolution. Other devices in this range only have about 320×240 pixels.

But the development doesn’t stand still. Many users complained about the shorter range compared to larger thermal imaging devices, which is explained by the large field of view of the TILO. Since it was developed as thermal imaging goggles and therefore has to provide the user with a particularly good overview, the TILO only has a maximum detection range of 1000m.

The developers at Andres Industries have now faced this challenge and found a solution. They have developed an adapter with which a 3-fold afocal lens can be attached to the TILO within seconds. This connection is extraordinarily robust and so accurate that the TILO with attachment lens can even be used as an attachment to the ELCAN or short dot sights. Andres Industries does not sell suitable adapters to civilians, but these can be obtained from ACT in Luxembourg. By the way, the TILO is mounted upside down in front of the ZF. The screen font can be adapted for this purpose.

The only disadvantage is that the calibration by the flap of the TILO does not work anymore, because it has to be disassembled before. The calibration must now be started by pushing a button, then the device is directed to an even surface and the button is pushed again. Afterwards, one gets an excellent picture quality without any vignetting, as it is known from other devices with an 3x afocal lens. Here is a small video in which the function is explained.

Tilo Challenge 1

TILO CHALLENGE – Thermals for 3 months

Together with ANDRES INDUSTRIES and SPARTANAT, Soldier Systems wants you to test the TILO thermal device intensively for three months!

What other manufacturer would do this with a €5,000device? The device could be damaged, couldn’t it? Yeah, it could be, but it’s a TILO. TILOs don’t break. If there is something on the TILO that can break, it is the manufacturer’s fault and ANDRES INDUSTRIES takes over the damage. That’s their offer:

Tilo Challenge 2

What comes from ANDRES INDUSTRIES?

ANDRES INDUSTRIES provides one of our newest TILO-Z+ (incl. accessories: helmet holder, head holder, bag etc.) free of charge for 3 months.

Target groups: swat teams, special forces.
The application: The users should use the TILOs daily and of course also at night.

What do we want from the user?

Hard work = tough report! Show us what you can do with the TILO! The following topics, for example, can be considered:
– Experience with the technology
– What are the advantages of TILO in use?
– Description of activity/unit/department
– A short story of an operation in which the TILO could be helpful.
– if possible some pictures or even film shots
– permission for this material to be shown by us and on SPARTANAT and Soldier Systems Daily and may also be used for our marketing. Or the permission to link to the report, which should of course also be available for a longer period of time.
– Explanation of the functions of the TILO

Who can apply as a tester?

– Anyone who works in one of the areas mentioned above or who successfully explains to us why he is the one who can best put our TILO through its paces.
– Of course also companies, authorities or units
– For this action 5x TILO-3Z with the latest software are available. ANDRES INDUSTRIES AG reserves the right to select the participants. Legal recourse is excluded.

What do I have to do to get a device to test for 3 months?

Fill in an end user statement and give a description about:
– the planned deployment
– the format of the report. E.g. text, pictures, video, feature-length film etc.
– it is helpful, if already exemplary productions (YouTube, Blogs etc.) are available (URL requested). Of course, we are interested in the highest quality reports possible.
– if there are persons depicted, do they have pixelated faces? If unpixeled, short explanation how their personal rights are considered. Like a statement that you’re okay with it.

Tilo Challenge 3

ELCAN and mounts for other target optics?

Participants also receive the necessary camera adapters from ACTinBlack.

What happens if the TILO is damaged during the test?

The TILO is indestructible, but if one breaks down, we will cover the costs:
– this does not apply to deliberate destruction.
– this does not apply to loss.

What’s the reward?

Whoever delivers the best report can keep his TILO-3Z+!
The second best gets a TILO-3Z!
For third place there is a 30 percent discount for the purchase of a TILO together with accessories.

How to apply?

Best by mail to: info(at)andres-industries.de – Subject: TILO-Challenge.

SPARTANAT IWA 18 – Put Andres Industries in front of your Specter DR

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018

Specter DR Tilo 1

Doing something deliberately can make sense. And so you decide to shoot something at night, and then you need this solution: The world’s smallest thermal glasses are used in front of one of the usual military optics, the Elcan Specter DR. The TILO-3 we have introduced to you HERE, the Specter DR HERE. The new mounting adapter, which brings the two worlds together, comes from Oberland Arms and enables the TILO thermal imaging device, which is also new, to be attached to the Elcan Specter 1/4x, turning the Tilo observation device into a thermal imaging attachment.

Specter DR Tilo 2

Andres Industries is pleased that OA offers accessories for the TILO-3Z+ they’ll present in Nuremberg. Although the TILO-3Z+ was developed as a thermal imaging spectacle and is also sold by Andres, it is very robust and has no problems with strong accelerations and vibrations. Even a fall on concrete is guaranteed to cope with it and has a few more scratches on the outside.

The new TILO-3Z+, which corresponds to the military version in its performance, will be available to civilians after the IWA, i. e. from 12 March 2017. It has an on-screen menu. About the can’t be to deactivate the required palettes or activate video output.

SPARTANAT: TILO-3 thermal image helmet / head lamp by Andres Industries

Tuesday, February 21st, 2017

This is world’s first thermal image helmet/headlamp. With this product, Andres Industries from Berlin/Germany developed a completely new product group: a thermal imaging system that has all the possibilities of tactical helmets /headlamps:

1. Spotlight white (160 Lumen 20°)

2. Spotlight red

3. IR-Light (invisible)

4. Brightness control

5. Flashing function

If the device is used as a headlamp, it is also worn as such. There is either a helmet holder for attachment to the helmet or an adapter to use the device on the GoPro headband.

Thermal imaging function: To use the thermal imaging function, the TILO-3 is folded down and now it works as a thermal imaging goggle. Despite the small size, the image and recognition quality by far surpasses other commercially available thermal imaging devices. A version with a thermal resolution of <40mK is available for authorities. This is comparable to the performance of a cooled thermal imaging device.

Technical specifications:

  • FOV: 25° H
  • Resolution: 329×240 pixel
  • Rate: 9Hz (hunters), 60Hz (authorities)
  • Weight: about 100g
  • Length: 4cm
  • Price: €2500
  • Protection: IP868 (nitrogen filled)
  • Power: 1xCR123 and external possibleThe lamp function can also be used during use as a thermal imaging device. TILO-3 will have its world premiere during ENFORCE TAC and can also be seen at IWA in Nuremberg.
