Warrior West – Bates Introduces Two New AR 670-1 Compliant Boots

Wednesday, May 4th, 2016

Bates Footwear has introduced two new Coyote Brown, AR 670-1 compliant boots.

Cobra Hot Weather Jungle Boot

The 8″ Cobra features updated jungle styling with flesh out cattle hide uppers combined with abrasion resistant nylon panels. As you can see, they’ve perforated the leather to enhance breathability (looks like pinholes in the photo) and incorporated a low profile lacing system, The boot also features Bates’ anti-fatigue Endurance Performance System, a stabilizing nylon shank and a multi-terrain rubber lug outsole.

Ranger Hot Weather Boot

The Ranger Hot Weather also offers flesh out cattle hide uppers combined with abrasion resistant nylons panels. However, in addition to perforations in the leather in the instep area of the boot, the Ranger features to toe lacing.  Also, there is a stabilizing nylon shank, EVA foam midsole for custom and a rubber lug outsole.

Bates Introduces the Annobon Boot

Monday, January 7th, 2013

20130106-183314.jpg

I’ve been wearing a pair of the new Annobon boots from Bates Footwear for about a month now. Billed as a modernized jungle boot, they are offered in 6″ and 8″ heights. I’ve had the taller model. I’ve got to tell you that they are comfortable and light. Sure, I’ve had several pairs of lighter boots but these incorporate a fairly beefy, lugged sole which offers a good balance between weight and durability.

The most interesting feature of the Annobon is the mesh lining. Rather than the fabric liner found on most boots, the Annobon is lined with a mesh that helps with breathability. The 8″ boot is available in both Desert Tan and Black while the 6″ version is only in Black. The Black variants feature smooth leather and nylon uppers while Desert Tan is Suede with nylon.
