Beyond Clothing’s Roughrider Pant Is Backpacker Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Snow For Pants

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

Backpacker magazine selected Beyond Clothing’s RoughRider Pant under the Editor’s Choice Snow Category for custom fit pants. Editor-in-chief Jonathan Dorn boasts a 36″ inseam and liked the Schoeller Dynamic fabric’s ability to cut the wind. Specifically, he said that with a layer underneath, he stayed warm below zero in 20 mile-per-hour wind conditions. We haven’t seen the article mentioned in the online edition yet, but it is featured prominently on page 79 of the current issue.

Originally designed for military use, the new RoughRider Pant is now available in Nextec’s silicone encapsulated Glacier fabric used for PCU Level 5 and comes in a MultiCam print.
The RoughRider Pant features:
-Open or Zippered hand pockets
-Angled Thigh Cargo Pockets
-Front Thigh Pockets
-Left Ankle Pocket
-Gusseted Ankle
-Expansion for ski boots
-Reduction for bare ankle
-Velcro and snaps for ice and snow precaution
-Knee Pad pocket with back of leg tightening
-Choice of D3O pad or Crye pad configuration
-Inner Thigh vent zipper with mesh inner
-Zippered fly with Velcro waist band
-Shaped waist band

You can also now get the Glacier Shock Jacket in MultiCam. Similar in design to the PCU level 5 jacket it incorporates Raglan sleeves a stand up collar and generous chest pockets.

More on Beyond’s New Lineup

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Last month we gave you a glimpse into Beyond’s new clothing lineup and website. Now, we want to go a bit more in depth on a couple of these designs. Not to take anything away from Beyond’s great designs and excellent fabric choices, literally the most awesome thing about them is that every garment can be manufactured to fit. It’s as good as having a neighborhood tailor who specializes in tactical clothing. What’s more, Beyond now includes women’s styles as well as men’s. A lot of work was put into developing a fit block specifically for the ladies.

Men’s RidgeBack Bib

Designed as a companion piece to the RidgeBack Jacket, the Bib is joined by a Pant as well. It is manufactured from Gore-Tex and features a full bib front and back in addition to generous side zips to facilitate donning and doffing. Additionally, Beyond has added a hip zip for ventilation as well as dual napoleon pockets on the front bib. The entire RidgeBack line is available in Black, Blue, Coyote, and Alpha Green.

Women’s Steel Jacket

Made from Scholler’s WB-400, the Steel Jacket offers slash pockets as well as optional hood and pit zips. This is another first for Women’s clothing. Take a look at these color choices. Molten Red, Lilac, Desert Khaki, Coyote, Brown, Black, White. There are a couple of options in there that are perfect for tactical operations. Beyond Clothing combines state of the art fabrics, with a true women’s fit block and made to measure in tactical colors. What’s not to like?

Beyond Clothing continues to come on strong with new offerings including insulation pieces and hardshells. We can’t recommend the made to order products enough. Sure, they’re expensive, but how often do you get to purchase clothing that fits you exactly like you want and was made specifically for you? In a big box world, you don’t. Visit www.beyondclothing.com and their sister site tactical.beyondclothing.com.

Beyond Clothing Update

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Beyond Clothing launched their new, updated website today. I like the look and feel and it seems a bit more streamlined than the previous incarnation. Additionally, they have released a new catalog featuring products that they debuted at OR. In particular, look for a woman’s line as well as their new hardshell bibs.
