FirstSpear Offering Carrier + Ballistic Plate Sets
Wednesday, November 19th, 2014Due to recent demand for armor carriers complete with plates, FirstSpear has launched a new Military/Law Enforcement-only section that currently features First On and Strandhögg armored carriers paired with FirstSpear Ballistic Plates.
I am a big fan of the First On which was developed as a low cost carrier for Active Shooter Response. These days, every law enforcement officer wears soft armor. The First On carries your hard plates as well as rudimentary gear such as ammunition and first aid items. During an Active shooter call or when entering a known hostile environment the First On can be rapidly thrown over your duty soft armor. It incorporates FS TUBES as closures which facilitate rapid donning and doffing. Finally, the First On features Velcro fields for identification.
The new First Ons are currently available in Black and Coyote. By popular demand, FS is now offering the First On with a Med Pouch and your choice of a FirstSpear standalone Level III or IV ballistic plates (set of two).
For those looking for a more feature rich carrier, I’d suggest you check out the Strandhögg which incorporates comfort padding and 6/12 mounting technology. It is compatible with both legacy MOLLE pouches as well as the FS line of 6/12 pouches which allows you to have more control of load configuration. Strandhöggs are available in Black, Coyote, Ranger Green, and Multicam.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Roo Panel
Friday, November 14th, 2014In this week’s FirstSpear Friday Focus we begin to take a look at completely new products. This time it’s the Roo Panel.
The FirstSpear Roo Panel integrates not only to FS 6/12 carriers but also many other Armor Carriers that feature PALS sections at the front of the vest. In the case that you use the Roo with a non-FS vest, it allows you to use 6/12 pouches. It’s a great way to they started before you make the full transition to a FS 6/12 carrier.
Additionally, the envelope design can be accessed for Map Info Card or other flat storage. You can also use it with specific pockets from the Ragnar Series. Finally, The exterior has a full 6/12 mounting field the user can configure with a variety of pockets.

Friday, November 7th, 2014No, the THUG isn’t another name for Ronnie Fowlkes, it’s a 6/12 compatible Tactical Augmentation Panel for FirstSpear armor carriers. In this week’s Friday Focus we’ll take a look at FirstSpear’s THUG and show you what its all about.
It’s pretty cool. Oftentimes, guys will find themselves operating in vehicles or scenarios where they can’t wear a fully kitted out armor carrier. That’s where the THUG comes in. You can configure the THUG for any number of loads and store it in a bag or hang it up via G-Hooks. Then, when you need it, you can quickly attach it to your armor carrier using those G-Hooks at the rear and Tubes up front. It still allows use of the Tubes for rapid donning and doffing and, it can folded in half for center wear on your carrier.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Mk 32 Punisher Pack
Friday, October 24th, 2014This week’s Friday Focus looks at a very specialized product from FirstSpear, the Punisher Pack. Designed to carry the 40mm Mk 32 MGL issued to the Marines and SOCOM.
As you can see, in addition to the 6/12 platform technology, you can carry a rifle or shotgun down the side of the pack. FirstSpear makes a 6/12 SixPack 40mm grenade holder that will keep you covered for reloads.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Tactical Hand-Warmer
Friday, October 17th, 2014It’s already cold many places in America so it’s about time we show you FirstSpear’s Tactical Hand-Warmer. It’s is one of those things you wish you’d had with you, when you don’t. The Tactical Hand-Warmer is essentially a fleece lined tube that can be attached several ways to you and your kit to keep it handy.
It can be attached directly to your platform or worn on its own with a strap that stows inside of itself.
The cuffs allow you to tighten it around your wrists or to close it up if you are storing something you need to keep warm such as NODs.
Additionally, it incorporates a built-in stuff sack so you can stow it away when not needed. Finally, it features pockets to hold hand warmers or other essential items.
