Allentown, PA – March 31, 2014 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit. The kit is designed for law enforcement agencies and individual officers who want to add the speed advantage of the Lancer L15 lower receiver and the reliability of the Lancer L5AWM magazine to an existing patrol rifle.
The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit, which comes in both stripped and complete versions, enables an officer to continue to use his or her own upper receiver. Each kit includes three translucent L5AWM magazines; one of each of the 10-, 20- and 30-round capacities. The design and control configuration of the kit allows the user to carry an additional 30 rounds of ammunition and reload in under two seconds.
The stripped kit includes a semi-assembled L15 lower receiver with tactical magazine well, FAB Defense GL stock, and Lancer Single Point Sling Mount. The receiver is delivered with the pivot pin, bolt release and magazine release pre-installed. The complete lower kit comes assembled and ready for an upper receiver. Kits start at $384.98 MSRP.
“So far, the feedback we’ve received from law enforcement agencies and through training seminars focused on the Active Shooter Response Kit has been incredibly positive,” said Ty Weaver, Director of Special Operations & Training, Lancer. “Officers are constantly telling us they need a way to make their rifles lighter, faster and more accurate. Many times, however, budget constraints do not allow for entirely new equipment purchases. The kits provide officers immediate improvements to their current weapons to better ensure their safety out on the street.”
The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit is the second product launch of Lancer’s new Special Operations Division, a segment of the Advanced Weapons & Components business area with an expansion of offerings specialized for military and law enforcement personnel. The division’s initial product launch was the Lancer Single Point Sling Mount, an exclusive attachment accessory featured in the new Active Shooter Response Kit and currently in use by a US Navy Special Mission Unit.
