SHOT Show – MTEK Flux Helmet

Thursday, January 21st, 2016

TNVC is hosting MTEK, makers of the Flux helmet.  This NIJ IIIA features an undercut rear lip.  Additionally, that’s an M-LOK compatible rail which also accepts O2 masks.  The helmet is boltless, meaning no bolts protrude through the .186″ shell.  Yep, that’s the thickness of a carbon fiber shell, but it’s ballistic.  It also weighs just 2.2 lbs.

There are a whole slew of innovations surrounding this helmet so check their site out.

Rampart Range Day – MTEK Weapon Systems

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

MTEK Weapon Systems has been working on helmet technology for a little over two years but now they’ve cracked the code on a one-piece undercut helmet.  Their Future Lightweight UnderCut System or FLUX is available in a vented and nonvented carbon bump as well as a ballistic helmet.

This ballistic model’s shell 1.1 lbs with a full helmet is about 1.9 lbs with full suspension, shroud and rails. In addition to featuring an undercut back, it is less than .25″ thick yet meets the ACH 17 grain v50 standard. Additionally, the shell has met NIJ level IIIA in testing but has not yet been certified while MTEK awaits final production suspension parts from the vendor.  You may notice the rail retainers which are adhered to the FLUX shell. This means that no holes are drilled in the shell to mount accessories.  In addition to the MTEK rails, the helmet will comes complete with Wilcox shroud.

Friday, July 18th, 2014

Thin and lightweight, MTek’s Critical Protection Inserts are designed to be worn in any standard armor vest, offering NIJ Level IIIA protection. The CPI is encapsulated in a polyurea coating, which makes them waterproof, durable, floatable, and easy to clean. Most impressively, when worn in conjunction with NIJ Level IIA or IIIA soft armor, the CPI is capable of offering limited rifle round protection, stopping both 7.62×39 lead-core FMJ and 55gr M193 5.56.

Available in the following sizes: 5×7, 5×8, 6×8, 6×9, 7×9, 7×10, 8×10, and 10×12. Made in the USA.

MTek Weapon Systems Introduces Curvilinear Ballistic Armor

Sunday, June 23rd, 2013

To me, it’s always exciting when a small, Veteran owned business makes a stride forward. I’m looking forward to taking a look at their ballistic data.

From their Facebook Page:
“Time for a major update! We’re always telling you how busy we are and can never say what we’re working on. All this talk of revolutionizing personal armor. Well, we finally have something we can show you! Keep in mind, the following data is PRELIMINARY ONLY until we complete additional testing! How about a “drop in” replacement flight helmet and mandible 4x more ballistic resistant than the current issue! How about a 1.5lb ballistic plate or a 2lb helmet (total weight)? We’re not releasing ballistic data on the prototypes yet, but you’re quite possibly looking at some of the most advanced, lightest weight armor in development. We now have the ability to rapidly manufacture lightweight, highly curvilinear ballistic armor. We are Ironman

If you’re sitting around on a hot May afternoon wishing you had something to keep your beverage cool, we’ve found just the thing for you. MTek Weapon Systems developed their facial armor systems out of necessity and we have a funny feeling that the M12 Tacticoolzy came about in the same way.

Manufactured from 1000D Cordura, the M12 Tacticoolzy features a Velcro field for ID or morale patches and a Transit Strap the keep your drinks secure during movements.

MTek Weapon Systems Predator G4 Faceshield

Friday, May 11th, 2012

MTek Weapon Systems has just released the Predator G4 (lighter, stronger, faster) Faceshield along with the associated MACH1 Cover. MTek tells us that the the new G4 is thinner and lighter than earlier versions yet still stops AK (7.62×39 lead core) rounds at 25 feet.
