UF PRO recently introduced the Striker Field Shirt, one of the pieces of their Striker BDU line in PenCott Greenzone camouflage. The field shirt is made from 50/50 NyCo ripstop fabric, with all loop material meeting NATO NIR requirements. The anatomic cut is designed for comfort when worn under body armor or battle vests. Dual access chest pockets feature Velcro closures to help prevent injury from secondary fragments, and offer good access to contents, even when wearing equipment or body armor. Big upper and lower arm pockets are spacious enough for equipment that requires quick access. Also included are pouches for D30 Trio Mid elbow protectors.

Back in April we gave you a preview of Hyde Definition’s Pathfinder BDU. Now, they’re available. These are Berry compliant garments made in small runs, but they are unique in both camouflage pattern and layout.
Limited quantities of the made-in-the-USA Pathfinder BDU are available now directly from Hyde Definition Ltd with free shipping to addresses in the US.
Hyde Definition developed the “Pathfinder BDU” to fulfil numerous requests for a US-made lightweight tactical uniform in PenCott camouflage pattern 50/50 NyCo fabric.
Named in honor of the elite “first in” paratroops of WWII, the Hyde Definition Pathfinder BDU is based on the ACU chassis and follows the standard US Army ACU sizing and fit chart. However, the Pathfinder BDU takes the familiar ACU platform to a whole new level. It features stylistic nods to the US paratroopers’ classic M-42 Jump Suit, the ground-breaking special operations RAID BDU, as well as other modern innovations and improvements.

This is a sneak peak of Domari Nolo Defense Consulting’s prototype Centurion Light Fighter Parka. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with these guys at the Shot Heard ‘Round The World earlier this year in New Hampshire after being introduced by Lawrence from Hyde Definition. The Domari Nolo guys love the Pencott patterns and have incorporated them into their line of products that are starting to come out.
They want their gear to be functional, affordable, and American made. Normally you get two of the three but so far, these guys seem to be making it work by managing design and finding great manufacturing partners.
The Centurion Light Fighter Parka is an anorak design and made from 50/50 ripstop NYCO water resistant, quick-drying, lightweight polyester fabric that Hyde Definition also used for their SnowDrift camo overwhites (which is being evaluated by SOCOM) but in the PenCott Greenzone pattern. It’s the same fabric used by the USMC for their snow camo overwhites and the USAF for their PT suits.
Recently, we told you that we’d have info on the UF PRO® STRIKER GreenZone™ Combat Shirt in a few weeks and here it is.
The shoulders incorporate UF PRO® air/pac® inserts.
And the elbow patches accept D3O® Trio Mid protectors.
Finally, there are both upper and lower arm pockets.
UF PRO makes clothing for the Slovenian Army, Customs Service, Prison Service, and Police. Their Sniper System is in use with several law enforcement SWAT / SEK units in Europe, and their Striker Battle Dress System is also in use by Slovenian special forces.
Unveiled at IWA 2013 in March, the Striker Battle Dress System from UF PRO is now available in PenCott-GreenZone camouflage. These are 100% made in Europe to a very high standard of quality, and from the best US and European made materials on the market.
The Combat Jacket kind of reminds me of a smock but with a slimmer fit. All pockets are closed with zippers instead of Velcro and the jacket also features inner compartments for safe storage of smaller equipment. It also incorporates side vents.
One cool feature is the UF PRO® air/pac inserts in the shoulder area along with slots for D30 elbow pads.
Striker Combat Pants are designed for all season wear and feature pockets with closed with zippers instead of Velcro to reduce noise. Additionally, the pants can also be fitted with D30 knee protectors for reactive impact protection. Loops in the upper leg allow the pre-placement of a tourniquet for high-risk missions. In addition to stretch panels for mobility and comfort, the pants can also be fitted with an optional WINDSTOPPER lining that provides comfort in temperatures ranging down to -5°C.
In addition to what you see here, look for the Combat Shirts to be available after the 15th. The full range consists of a combat shirt, combat pants, combat jacket, rain suit and softshell jacket. Additionally, UF PRO will offer their Boonie Hats in PenCott. If that isn’t enough, they will also be donating some sets of the Striker Battle Dress System in BadLands to the Silent Heroes Foundation Special Interdiction Unit fighting rhino poaching in South Africa which I think is a great cause.
The UF PRO Striker Battle Dress System Combat Jacket and Combat Pants can be ordered directly through ufpro.si.
We received this press release earlier today from Hyde Definition. It’s hard to believe that people slaughter animals for their horns, driving an entire species to he brink of extinction. I’m glad to see that some are taking a stand to protect them.
The Silent Heroes Foundation is committed to support efforts to improve both animal and human health in Africa, as well as to aid in the protection and conservation of its wildlife and endangered species.
Poaching of Africa’s wildlife, particulary of its vulnerable and endangered species such as elephant and rhino, is currently at crisis level. Illegal trade in wildlife products such as ivory and rhino horn is coordinated by well-organized crime syndicates which transport the horns primarily to Viet Nam and China, in order to fuel the demand for the use of horn as a medicinal treatment, a status symbol for the growing middle class, or a hangover cure.
Compounding the problem is the fact that most park rangers and wildlife reserve security teams are neither properly trained nor equipped to combat this war on Africa’s wildlife.
To deal with this dual challenge, the Silent Heroes Foundation is forming an elite, professional Specialized Interdiction Unit that can be deployed on an as-needed and fast-reaction basis throughout South Africa, in an effort to increase overall security, and to help decrease the rate of poaching deaths in the country. The Specialized Interdiction Unit will led by Anton du Plessis, Founder of the South African Tactical Association. Anton has a 20 year background in the South African military, law enforcement and security sectors, and has trained a variety of specialized units over the years.
The SHF SIU has specific skills and expertise related to: investigation; forensics; crime scene management; human tracking; small team operations; long range surveillance; night operations; airborne operations; K9 capability; advanced medical and tactical medic capacity; & informant handling – skill sets that are unfortunately not prevalent within the Anti-Poaching Units operating currently in reserves throughout South Africa. Aerial surveillance will also be utilized in order to increase security while decreasing the risk to those protecting the animals.
The SHF SIU operators are chosen after a professional vetting process and police background clearance, and are 100% dedicated to the mission. The proposed start date is mid-2013, with an initial 10-20 week deployment, with future deployments on an as-needed, fast-reaction basis throughout the country.
Because of the critical, up-close, and often dangerous, nature of their mission, the team wanted a camouflage pattern that would offer the very best concealment in the southern African bush country. We were therefore honored they contacted us and said that they had selected the PenCott-BadLands™ pattern for their tactical clothing and equipment.
Hyde Definition is proud to support the Silent Heroes Foundation Specialized Interdiction Unit in its noble purpose and mission. Our partners from Helikon-Tex and Molay Taktika Indonesia will be providing tactical clothing in “BadLands”.
Other companies providing tactical gear and equipment include; Battleware Technology, Hill People Gear, NAVELITE, Tentipi, Imperial Armour and Celox Medical.
In addition to carrying out the critical mission of defending the wildlife of southern Africa, the SHF SIU will also work to raise awareness through social media and participation in two interdiction and rhino conservation film projects.
Regarding the film projects, US Army Special Forces veteran Mykel Hawke has graciously agreed to donate his time and expertise to participate as a training consultant.
Mykel has over 20 years of combined military, government contracting, and survival experience, holds a Masters degree in psychology, and has earned black belts in both Aikido and Judo. He is also the creator and star of two hit shows, Man Woman Wild and One Man Army (Discovery Channel) and currently stars in the series Elite Tactical Unit on The Outdoor Channel.
