Silent Magnetic Closures Patent Has Just Arrived

I just received this news. The silent Velcro magnetic closure we wrote about last August has been issued a patent. Congrats to designer FIGHTER DESIGN and their distribution partner Velcro USA.

Today was a big day for FIGHTER DESIGN in Austin, Texas. US Patent number 8,316,515 arrived in the mail and is now on their wall following a brief Budweiser fueled ceremony. This patent protects the Silent Magnetic Closures for Velcro® Brand Fasteners being made by FIGHTER DESIGN. The product instantly converts any Velcro® Brand Fastener into a Silent Magnetic Closure. FIGHTER DESIGN is an inventor group that collaborates with some of the greatest minds in the industry to create and deliver innovative products.

VELCRO Launches New Website

VELCRO has completely revamped their web presence with a new, more intuitive site. Right off the bat, you are immersed in a new homepage that stimulates exploration of VELCRO product uses through a series of interactive scenes including:

• Outdoor settings

As you can see above, the content is organized by type and you are only a click or two away from the information you are looking for. Jurjen Jacobs, Vice President of Global Marketing gave this statement in a press release, “Global consumer research was conducted and management teams in every area of the business were consulted to develop sweeping improvements to the user experience. The site is one of the first showcases for the clean, modern visual style that is being implemented across all brand communications from digital media to packaging.”
