GPS Software
Monday, July 13th, 2009Cradle Software has developed GpsSpot v1.0.2, a GPS software that works much like electronic breadcrumbs. Using GpsSpot you can easily save any location as a known point and using your phone’s GPS the application will display a distance and direction to the saved point.
The software package provides your Windows based mobile device with capabilities similar to the Bushnell Backtrack. It relies on your phone’s GPS capability so don’t expect it to be as accurate, rugged, or reliable as a dedicated GPS device but it may be perfect for some applications where you want enhanced capability for your mobile device.

Operator’s Air Crew Retention Lanyard from 215 Gear

The resulting lanyard has a finished length 46 inches and stretches to 85 inches (web to web). Versions are available with a snap shackle and climb rated Frog fitting or with fixed loops at the ends for user supplied carabiners.

EOTAC Releases Mechanic Shirt
Sunday, July 12th, 2009Camouflage is all about blending in and the new mechanic shirt from EOTAC allows the wearer to blend in to basically any rural or urban setting while successfully carrying concealed. Sure, you can go down to Walmart and purchase an inexpensive shirt but the second you put a gun on, chances are real good that sucker is going to print.
It features a straight bottom hem with side vents and designed to be worn untucked in order to drape freely, offering maximum concealment and no printing. The two lower front buttons are false, with hook & loop closure behind them. This feature makes accessing a holstered handgun or spare magazines both rapid and smooth by either pulling or sweeping the shirt away. The mechanic shirt is available in Grey, Navy, and black and comes with four sew-on patches to help blend in.

Mega Machine Shop Lower Receiver
Saturday, July 11th, 2009Mega Machine Shop, whose forged AR 15 upper and lower receivers are popular with black rifle enthusiasts has just released its new billet AR-15 lower receiver. Made of 7075-T6 aluminum and featuring machined angular lines and grip points around the magwell front, it also incorporates an enlarged trigger guard to accommodate gloved hands.
Many feel there are advantages to the billet method of production which is essentially machining a block of alloy from scratch and dimensional inconsistencies can be avoided which sometimes occur with the forging method, in which the receiver is hammered into shape while heated.
