“Freedom Isn’t Free” Cooler to Benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation Relisted on eBay

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

eBay strikes! Halfway through the “Freedom Isn’t Free” Cooler Auction to Benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation, eBay shut it down. Now, it’s back up with all of the details the same. Unfortunately, they lost all of the bids so if you participated before, head back over.

1) Cooler_front

Our friends at MATBOCK have come up with a really cool fundraising idea. They have a buddy who makes custom coolers and approached him about doing a 100% Made in USA cooler with a military theme in order to raise funds for the Navy SEAL Foundation.

A lot of work went into this build. Here you can see the up close, the illustrations burned into the wood.

As an added bonus, the winner will be able to decide what he wants added to the lid.

10) Cooler_Top

They’ve also added a few embellishments to keep with the theme.

This is going to look great in my backyard so go out there and win it as a donation for the SSD home office!

Here’s how it works. Visit the auction on eBay.

How to enter
1) Make your bid and check back to ensure you are the highest bidder
2) Give us a Like on Facebook – Visit MATBOCK on Facebook

Details
– The winner will have the opportunity to pick from three other drawings to complete the top of the cooler or they can submit their own idea to be placed on the top. (this is why we have a longer handling time)
– The cooler will arrive before memorial day weekend
– The auction will last 7 days and ends on 13 May.
– 100% of your bid will be donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation
– MATBOCK will pay for UPS ground shipping

The theme for this cooler is “Freedom isn’t free” because so often we forget the daily sacrifices that people all around the world make to ensure our freedom. Usually only during key events or holidays do people (sadly including us) think about these sacrifices. With this hand built 100% USA made cooler on your porch, patio or even in your garage, you will remember the daily sacrifice, not to mention 100% of your donation will go towards the Navy SEAL Foundation to help the families of the men who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Retail for this cooler is over $900, so lets start bidding!

Protect The Force Inc. Enters into Agreement with Emergstat Technologies LLC to Promote Wound Treatment Technology

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

Some very cool news from the guys at Protect The Force regarding a new lightweight bioactive wound dressing/pack from EmergStat Technologies LLC.

Protect The Force Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mission Ready Services Inc. has entered into a consulting agreement with research and development company, EmergStat Technologies LLC. In return for an equity position in the Company, PTF will introduce and advance EmergStat’s wound management technologies to military and first responders worldwide.

Uncontrolled bleeding (hemorrhaging) continues to be the leading cause of preventable combat-related deaths and ranks second in civilian trauma incidents. EmergStat’s proprietary technology centers on a new lightweight bioactive wound dressing/pack which offers a plethora of potentially life-saving benefits including the following:

1. stops bleeding in less than two minutes at any point on the body;
2. easy application by a medic or the wounded soldier themselves;
3. prevention of infection via localized delivery of antimicrobials;
4. direct pain-relief through a controlled release of analgesics;
5. ready-to-use with no special preparation or training;
6. breathable to aid wound healing, and;
7. stable under harsh climatic conditions for extended periods of time

In addition to EmergStat’s innovative wound dressing solutions, the Company is also developing a nanofibrous bioactive dermal dressing composed of a non-degradable electrospun polymer barrier and a biodegradable layer. The non-degradable layer will prevent further trauma by protecting the wound site from mechanical stress and bacterial infection while the degradable polymer layer will incorporate antimicrobial, tissue ingrowth and vascularization agents.

Remington Responds To Criticism Over Remaining in New York

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

Remington has been catching hell for their decision to keep their manufacturing in New York after that state passed the “SAFE Act” that is some of the most restrictive firearms legislation in America. There’s another issue that they don’t address in this statement. Their owners want to sell them but it will cost some cash to move. Conversely, anyone who buys them will probably want to move them so their current location isn’t exactly a selling point. It’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

To our Remington fans,

We believe the NY SAFE Act is unconstitutional and was passed in a questionable fashion.

Remington and its employees worked diligently with pro-gun legislators to prevent the Act’s passage. We actively participated in the Albany rallies and drove the letter-writing campaign to stop this anti-gun legislation.

The recently awarded Department of Defense (Special Operations Command) contract, questioned by some as a “pay-off,” has been in development for years — it has nothing to do with NY State.

While we are unhappy with the misguided acts of our elected politicians, Remington will not run or abandon its loyal and hard working 1,300 employees without considerable thought and deliberation. Laws can be overturned and politicians voted out of office, but the decisions we make today will affect our people, their families and entire communities for generations.

Please bear with us as we determine the most appropriate way to satisfy our customers and protect our employees.
