Chip Hardesty from HARRIS Corporation stops by at Warrior Expo West to talk about their Ruggedized Tablet designed for the dismounted warfighter. Chip also discusses the HARRIS InTouch handheld device – a smaller version of the Ruggedized Tablet and the PRC-152A radio designed for the dismounted warfighter. The PRC-152A radio has been adopted and fielded as a Capability Set 13 dismounted radio by the US Army.

Spec Ops Brand has updated the venerable T.H.E. Pack. It’s been around for over 10 years and it was about time for an update. With a new moniker, Ultimate Assault Pack, the Original Tactical Holds Everything pack will still be offered for customers who want the same model they’ve been using for years but I like the enhancements.
For one thing, they’ve introduced a PALS compatible Grid-Lok panel to the outside accessory pocket. spec Ops Brand has also streamlined the sternum strap and made two major internal changes.
Thanks to a zippered compartment you can now insert and take out the frame sheet much easier. Additionally, the water bladder pocket has been moved to the main pack compartment, away from the wearer’s back so it won’t shift the load depending on how full the bladder is.

You’ve heard us refer to a shade of Grey as ‘MAS Grey’ but some of you may not know where it comes from. It’s the shade of the Maritime Assault Suit manufactured by dry suit manufacturer Kokatat. For the past decade Kokotat has been making the NSW issue MAS although ironically, they refer to the color of the suit as Alpha Green or Sepia.
Many features now considered standard for military dry suits were first integrated on the MAS such as pockets that replicate combat uniforms.

Weighing in at just 335 grams, the new PLATEminus™ is the latest component in Blue Force Gear’s growing MOLLEminus line. It’s designed to fit any SAPI/ESAPI style armor plates, with or without plate backers, and is manufactured from BFG’s proprietary ULTRAcomp laminate which incorporates a combination of slots and squares to accommodate as Helium Whisper as well as other PALS-compatible pouches.
Other than the low weight, the key design feature for PLATEminus is that it incorporates a color matched separate plate pocket that’s made from a combination of Tweave and Cordura that accommodates, protects, and camouflages plates and backers. The MOLLEminus construction strategy is already very lightweight but BFG went a step further in their weight reduction strategy by relying on simple 1″ side load stabilization straps. Another interesting feature is that the LMAC shoulder straps can be adapted to the PLATEminus™.
“We designed PLATEminus with simplicity in mind,” said John Felushko, Blue Force Gear’s Product Line Manager. “PLATEminus is simple to put on with single pull forward side straps, simple to customize due to full MOLLE compatibility and simple to size – just buy your SAPI/ESAPI plate size.”
The PLATEminus™ is currently available in MultiCam at OP Tactical and will soon also be offered in Coyote Brown and Urban Wolf.
