Grey Ghost Gear Armor Plates – Sneak Peak

Monday, April 21st, 2014

This is a sneak peak from Grey Ghost Gear of their upcoming line of armor plates. We got a glimpse at the recent Darley Defense Days at Ft Bragg. Stay tuned for the full reveal soon.

Dalton, ID — 18 APR 14 — Grey Ghost Gear – The world is full of a$$holes. Once in a while one of them tries to kill you. Grey Ghost Gear wants to help you prepare for that possibility. We want to armor you against the a$$holes.

JCL_9373

To do that we’ve partnered up with one of the best composite companies in the world to build affordable armor plates for responsible citizens. We’re going to have 3 models, initially, all as good or better than those in use by SOF overseas, all NIJ certified and all very lightweight (some as light as 1 lb). They will also be affordable – like, starting at $200 affordable. Protection levels will be III, III + and IV.

JCL_9389

The new plates use cutting edge technology only recently developed while building armor for a specialized maritime unit. A very limited number of them are labeled appropriately.

“The worlds full of a$$holes,” says Grey Ghost Gear Director of Business Development Lindsey Lea. “Might as well prepare to deal with them. If you can legally carry a gun we see no reason you shouldn’t also wear armor if you want to.”

JCL_9413

“The phrase on the front of the plate may seem flippant, but it’s not. These plates and our intention to put them in the hands of responsible citizens is a natural extension of the Grey Ghost Gear ethos. We are very excited to offer cutting edge ballistic protection, not just to the military and first responders, but the everyman.” – Casey Ingels, Grey Ghost Gear CEO.

Plates will be made available to military, LEOs and U.S. citizens with concealed carry permit (CCW/CHL, etc.) in good standing in their home state. The buyer’s state and local laws will apply.

Look for full technical specs, ordering procedures and additional information within the week – if you’re at the NRA show, come by and talk to GGG along with Tactical Tailor at Booth # 8148.

Newport News, VA, April 2014 – In a world where being “made” can be a life-ending event, High Threat Concealment™ (HTC™) has set the standard for low visibility tactical equipment. Our system has become standard issue to groups and units whose lives depend on staying off the grid. Tyler Grey – Coming Back After A (War) Injury

Sunday, April 20th, 2014

Tyler Grey is an US Army Special Operations Veteran I met a few years back through some mutual friends. When you first meet him two things will strike you: the first is a very serious injury; you can’t shake his hand without becoming aware of it. The second is his great attitude.

Tyler_Pre-Injury_Post-Hospital

Since I’ve had the opportunity to get to know him, I’ve come to know a man who won’t let life lick him. I’d say that’s one of the reasons he got involved with GORUCK and the tactical training industry. The guy’s a survivor. You need to take the time to go read about his experience, which he wrote about in an article currently on GORUCK’s website.

You can read the whole thing over at GORUCK: news.goruck.com/military/coming-back-after-a-war-injury

Patriot’s Day – Remembering ‘The Shot Heard Round The World’

Saturday, April 19th, 2014

You’ve probably heard about Paul Revere’s ride and the ‘shot heard round the world’. April 19th, Patriot’s Day, marks what we consider the beginning of the American Revolution, well over a year before the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Interestingly, I grew up in the 70s and 80s watching ABC’s Schoolhouse Rock series on Saturday mornings and regularly seeing this little gem. Sure, it’s a little off on the facts, but can you imagine one of the major networks playing something so patriotic today? It’s not even 40 years on. Such a shame that, as a people, we don’t look at our country the same way anymore.

Each Patriot’s Day, I remember those men at Concord and consider what it must have been for them to stand there in the face of the world’s greatest army and take up arms in the defense of their colony from oppression.

Consider this:

This militia came together on that morning to protect their arms from seizure by an oppressive government. That is a fact. It’s not meant to be inflammatory or support an agenda, but it will upset some nevertheless.

“Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”
-John Parker
Captain of Militia

As the initial volleys of fire were exchanged near daybreak on Lexington Green, colonial volunteers fell back in the face of over 500 occupying British troops. But as the battle moved on to Concord the tide turned, and the redcoats were routed as more and more colonists joined the fray.

As the British troops withdrew through Concord they were reinforced. Now boasting a strength of 1700 men, they remained no match for the determined colonists who forced them to retreat to the safety of Charlestown in Boston. The militiamen continued their pursuit which transformed into the Siege of Boston.

Today, join me in remembering those American warriors who pledged their lives to give us our hard fought freedoms and this great land.
