For 2016, Springfield is releasing the XD(M) 4.5″ Full Size Threaded Barrel. As the name implies, the XD(M) features a threaded barrel which extends over 3/4″ from the front of the slide, so no threading adapter is required. The threading cuts are 1/2″ x 28 for the 9mm model, and .578″x28 for the .45 ACP model. Additionally, the front sight post is extended to .365″ above the top of the slide, allowing shooters to utilize the irons over practically any suppressor body.
At the Kalashnikov USA booth, among with the new products was a futuristic-looking reflex sight, called the MH1. The MH1 was developed by Mikey Hartman, a Lt. Col. (Ret.) of the IDF, and the founder and former 20-year commander of the IDF Marksmanship and Sharpshooting School. The MH1 was designed to improve shooter performance as much as accuracy. To that end, it has a number of interesting features.
To start, the MH1 features a 35 x 24mm viewing window, which according to Hartman is the largest currently on the market; the intent behind the larger window is to maximize target acquisition speed for the shooter. The MH1 also features rear panel controls, which are angled and ambidextrous, allowing them to be used even when wearing gloves or if a magnification or night vision scope is mounted behind the sight.
The HM1 is also powered by two separate battery systems: a USB-rechargeable battery, and a single CR123 battery. The optic utilizes the rechargeable battery first, then uses the backup CR123 when the former runs out of power.
Above you can see the ‘Accuracy Enhanced Reticle’, which consists of a center red dot and horizontal lines at 3 & 9 o’clock. The intent of this design is two-fold: it’s designed to allow the user to maintain the weapon on a vertical plane to avoid red dot cant issues, and the horizontal lines also allow users to utilize them as a ballistics aiming system.

This is Blackhawk’s new TecGrip IWB Holster. The TecGrip is made of a proprietary gripping material which allows for clipless IWB carry, and it can be washed with soap and water (apparently, the material is also great at exfoliating skin). The TecGrip is also ambidextrous for left or right-hand carry. The TecGrip comes in multiple sizes, for carrying anything from small, double-action revolvers to 5″ barrel large auto handguns.
This is the TecGrip Pocket Holster. It’s pretty much the smaller cousin of the TecGrip IWB, intended for in-pocket carry, but with all the same features. As expected, the TecGrip Pocket comes in multiple sizes which also supports smaller handguns, from small .22/.25 autos to most subcompact 9/.40 auto handguns.
About mid last year, we wrote about Hill & Mac Gunworks’ planned modern interpretation of the StG 44, the HMG Sturmgewehr. For those eager to know about the progress of the HMG Sturmgewehr, we’re happy to reveal that at this year’s SHOT Show, H&M had several completed models available at their booth. Seen above is the STG-N model, which features a long stroke piston action, a 16.1″ barrel length, and fixed front and rear adjustable sights. Like the original, the HMG Sturmgewehr is made of stamped metal and wood furniture; it’s expectedly hefty (11 lbs., 10 oz. unloaded), but feels extremely solid. Plus, as originally promised by H&M, multiple calibers will be offered for the rifle:
