Blackhawk Introduces T-Series L2C Holster for Glock 20/21

Level 2 Compact Holster Now Available for 10mm and 45 AUTO Pistols

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia – April 23, 2020 – Blackhawk, a leader in the law enforcement and military equipment realm for over 20 years, announced today that it has expanded its popular line of T-Series holsters with the introduction of a Level 2 Compact (L2C) model engineered to accommodate the Glock 20/21 pistols.

Like previously introduced Blackhawk models, the L2C holster has been specifically designed to assist with concealed carry. Each holster model is standard with a new speed cut to help with a faster draw and features a low-profile design for ease of concealment. The L2C holster is also RMR-compatible, enabling users the ability to add a red dot to their carry firearm.

The duty-rated holster is standard with an all-new Quick Dual Release (QDR) attachment method. Using an intuitive button release, the QDR allows the holster to be easily added and removed from a belt without weaving it through traditional belt loops. The QDR can easily accommodate belts ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 inches and allows the holster to be canted at various angles, depending on user preference. In addition to the QDR attachment, all T-Series L2C holsters come standard with a 2-slot belt loop. The 2-slot belt loop has been ergonomically designed to follow the body contour and help reduce offset.

The Blackhawk T-Series line is the world’s first thumb driven, dual-injected molded holster. The holster combines the company’s proven outer body strength made possible with a glass reinforced nylon along with a soft touch inner layer that is both super slick and sound-dampening. This durable and efficient, low-friction design translates into a smooth, quiet draw or when re-holstering the sidearm. Blackhawk Launches T-series Holsters

Blackhawk has just launched the first holster in their new T-series. Their holster team in Bozeman, Montana, started with a clean slate. This new line offers a new release mechanism and features dual shot molding techniques.


Right off the bat I’m going to tell you, this isn’t Serpa. I’d say it’s the opposite of Serpa. While Serpa uses the trigger finger to actuate the release from the holster, the T-series relies upon a downward press of the thumb, which then curls around the grip in presentation, their master grip principle. The holster features a channel which guides the thumb right down to the button.

In addition to the new release mechanism, Blackhawk has also introduced an industry first for holsters. The T-Series features dual-shot molding technology utilizing a supple liner for smooth, quiet draws and a glass-fiber reinforced exoskeleton for strength. Additionally, the liner keeps down wear on the firearm.

The launch consists of two models, The L2D and L3D, denote level 2 and 3 retention, focused on law enforcement, duty use. The level 3 model adds a retention strap over the back of the slide.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the T-series holster on the range. I fired 300 rounds through a Glock during the range session. While that doesn’t sound like a lot, the range master specified drills which required multiple draws and reholstering which offered some good experience.

Initially, I found myself reaching with my thumb for a lever at the top of the holster to release the pistol. I slowed down and my thumb followed the channel down depress to the button and the draw was very natural. Later, during timed shoots, I caught myself a few more times, feeling for that lever at the top, but my thumb easily found its way down to the button.

It’s different than other holsters out there, so when you get one, make sure you spend some time on the range as well as reinforcement with dry holster and presentation drills to reprogram your muscle memory.

Although the configuration I used during the range session was intended for duty wear with body armor, I like the holster. The thumb activated retention release is intuitive. Unfortunately, the indoor range setting wasn’t the best place to evaluate if it was indeed a quieter holster, so I’ll leave it up to their customers to make that determination.

I asked Blackhawk representatives if this meant they were discontinuing the Serpa series. Although the T-series is a new direction for Blackhawk, the Serpa remains immensely popular, particularly overseas. It is not going anywhere.

Naturally, the first T-series Holster is for the Glock 17, the most popular handgun in America. However, Blackhawk has a very brisk schedule through the end of the year, regularly introducing new models and accessories. This includes alternative mounting options along with compact, light bearing, and RMR compatible models.

Due to the initial focus of the T-series as an LE Duty Holster, it’s currently only available in Black.

Brand Manager

This position is part of a unique opportunity to help create brand strategy and direction for the BLACKHAWK! business unit from the ground up. You will be a crucial part of a fast-paced environment that is equal parts demanding and exciting. The Brand Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Marketing and will be responsible for ensuring communications, advertising, product placement, sales support materials, and general branding is all in line with cohesive brand strategy. Vista Outdoor is seeking a Photographer/Videographer to create a second-to-none content library for the BLACKHAWK! business unit (BLACKHAWK!, Eagle Industries, and Uncle Mike’s are the three primary brands). The Photographer/Videographer will have a unique opportunity to help define the visual representation of all brands within the BLACKHAWK! business unit as part of a sweeping brand revival. The selected candidate will have a high degree of autonomy to dream up the photo and video shoots they would like to tackle and will be encouraged to bring their own creative direction to the table. This position will answer directly to the Senior Director of Marketing and will work alongside a team of graphic designers, brand managers, social media specialists, web/eCommerce specialists, product designers, etc. This person needs to be filled with ideas that they’ve been wanting to tackle for imagery styles, cinematography styles, etc. as we work together as a team to break the mold of what has previously been seen as commonplace in the tactical industry.

Vista Outdoor is seeking a Web/eCommerce Specialist to help bring the BLACKHAWK! business unit’s online presence into the 21st century. You’ll have a unique opportunity to create an eCommerce strategy from the ground up to support both existing and new web-based revenue streams as we work to make our products more easily accessible and make the buying process more appealing, streamlined, and data-driven. You will also lead the efforts of three separate company website redesigns (BLACKHAWK!, Eagle Industries, and Uncle Mike’s — bonus points if they can all be done in tandem) with ample opportunity for input regarding the final outcome of the project. This position will spearhead collecting data from all digital revenue sources to help drive both increased sales as well as a more in-depth understanding of our customer base. Waldron to have Responsibility for BLACKHAWK!, Eagle and Uncle Mike’s Brands

Overland Park, Kansas — Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO) announced that Joshua Waldron will serve as president of the company’s BLACKHAWK! business unit, effective today. The business unit is part of Vista Outdoor’s Outdoor Products segment and includes brands such as BLACKHAWK!, Eagle and Uncle Mike’s. Waldron will have full responsibility for the business, including finance, operations and manufacturing, sales, marketing and new product development. He will relocate to the company’s Virginia Beach, Virginia, location, which will serve as the business unit’s headquarters due to its close proximity to several key law enforcement and military customers.

For the last decade, Waldron was the co-founder and chief executive officer of SilencerCo, a firearm sound suppression company. While at SilencerCo, he was awarded one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies for six consecutive years by both Mountain West Capital Network’s Utah 100 and Utah Business Magazine’s Fast 50. Under Waldron’s leadership, SilencerCo significantly expanded the suppressor category and increased market share. Warrior West 18 – BLACKHAWK Multipoint Sling

I was checking out the various lines offered by Vista Outdoor when I saw this fixture on a sling in the Blackhawk section. It reminded me of a frame surrounding a Red Dot Sight.


Turns out, it’s the rapid adjust slider for their Multipoint Sling. Although it’s fixed in an open position, it’s soft enough to collapse when you need it to.


The webbing material is offered in slick, padded and stretch variants in Coyote and Black. The sling is Berry compliant and offered in multiple mounting configurations including QD, HK hooks and free ends with no attachment, allowing you to use your own parts. But, my favorite feature is that they’ve included a two-point to single-point adapter on the models fitted with QDs.
