DV8 Sports Launches $3.5 Million Offering for Private Investors

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

DV8 Sports and EPEC – Golf without obstacles, a game-changing full set of golf clubs in a liberating, life styled backpack, and an upgradeable junior golf solution that eliminates the need for costly new clubs each time a child grows a few inches.

Atlanta, GA, August 4, 2016 – Sepia Products, LLC dba DV8 Sports announced its $3.5 million Regulation D 506(c) private offering today to accredited investors throughout the USA.

DV8 has engaged VeteranCrowd to serve as exclusive financial advisor during this offering. The securities are being offered through WealthForge Securities, LLC Member FINRA/SIPC.

DV8 Sports is a golf equipment company dedicated to golf’s next generation of millennial and junior golfers. By way of innovative products and forward-thinking solutions for both adults and kids, DV8 is building brands to reflect the attitudes and aspirations of these younger players. With golf in the midst of a generational change, DV8 Sports is at the forefront of this movement; from new forms of the games we call “golf” to where they are played and the equipment players use, every aspect of this 300 year-old activity is being challenged. Many traditional manufacturers see these changes as disruptive whereas DV8 Sports has the products, the vision and the experience to turn this disruption into opportunity.

Point in fact—as reported recently, one of the world’s most respected sporting goods brands announced it is exiting golf equipment. While some assume this exit to be a reflection of the woes of the golf industry in general, a different view is the brand was simply unsuccessful at connecting with either of golf’s major demographics—older affluent golfers who prefer more traditional brands or millennials and juniors who happen to make up nearly 50% of all participants. None of golf’s major brands are focusing on these younger players which is exactly why DV8 will. To that end, funds from this raise will fuel marketing and branding, new product development and inventory purchases for both DV8 and EPEC product lines specifically focused on younger players.

One of the first uses of proceeds from this private offering will be a direct response (DR) advertising campaign on NBC/Golf Channel that will begin airing this fall. Headlined by famed PGA Tour instructor Rick Smith, a DV8 Sports ambassador, the campaign will promote the EPEC Upgradeable Junior Golf Set, the industry’s first and only upgradeable junior product. With real kids urging parents and grandparents to “DO THE MATH”, the spots will illustrate the demonstrable financial benefits of an upgradeable product as compared to parents being forced to buy entirely new sets of clubs every 12 to 18 months as kids grow. EPEC promises to save parents as much as 50-60% compared to other premium fit by height brands. Not only with the EPEC DR campaign get the company’s innovative equipment into the hands of thousands of kids, it will dramatically increase awareness of the brand and make EPEC a household name in golf.

EPEC products are distributed at a growing number of retailers such as Worldwide Golf, Golf Town (Canada) and PGA Tour Superstores, online, and through golf shops and country clubs nationwide. Go to www.epecgolf.com to see participating golf shops.

You’ve probably read that and said to yourself, “I don’t even like golf, why the heck did SSD share that?” Well, here’s why. VeteranCrowd, LLC is an online platform facilitating private placements for veteran led businesses. It’s what they specilize in. So if you’re a veteran looking to raise capital, now you know tyere’s someone you can talk to about it. Securities are offered through WealthForge Securities, LLC Member FINRA/SIPC.

H&K Announces FDE And Tactical VP Models

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

Columbus, Georgia – Two new models of Heckler & Koch’s VP striker fired pistol have been added to the company line-up this summer. New Flat Dark Earth (FDE) colored frame variants and threaded barrel “Tactical models” join the renowned VP family of 9 mm and .40 caliber pistols.

The new VP FDE models are manufactured using special colorants added to the frame during the molding process and are available in both 9 mm (VP9) and .40 caliber (VP40). The color frame cannot fade or chip and is unaffected by chemicals, sun, and exposure to the elements. FDE models have all of the highly regarded VP features-with the addition of their colored frames. Flat Dark Earth is a tan/brown color scheme that has gained favor among many military and security units in recent years.

The VP Tactical models (available in both 9 mm and .40 S&W) are also identical to standard HK VP pistols, except for the addition of premium grade threaded barrels -only their weights and lengths differ due to the longer and slightly heavier threaded barrel.

The threaded barrels are manufactured at HK’s Oberndorf factory in southwest Germany, using the legendary Heckler & Koch cold-hammer forging process. HK cold hammer forged barrels -made from proprietary cannon grade steel -are well known for their long service life. Similar HK barrels on P30 models have fired more than 90,000 rounds in endurance tests.

“Adding color frame models and VPs with threaded barrels is our response to the many customer requests we received on this phenomenal handgun,”said Michael Holley, HK-USA Vice President for Commercial Sales and Marketing. “Look for us to continue fleshing out the VP Series with customer-driven product improvements. The VP is one of HK’s most successful handguns. Its ‘precise pull’trigger is recognized as industry-leading. VP pistols are accurate, rugged, safe, easy to fit to any shooter’s hand -and they’re fun guns to shoot.”

Both the VP FDE color frame models and the VP Tactical models are made completely in HK’s Oberndorf factory in southwest Germany using all of the company’s advanced technologies for barrel manufacturing, as well as production of the machined steel slide, polymer frame, and all internal components. HK VP pistols are competitively priced and covered by Heckler & Koch’s lifetime warranty.

G-Code Scorpion Softshell

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

Today, G-Code announced the release of its brand new Scorpion Softshells, cable retention tool pouches built for rifle and pistol magazines, although they also accommodate other items such as lights and multi-tools. The full release can be read below:

01

Rifle. Pistol. Multi-tool. Flashlight. It all fits.

Versatile, capable and light-weight, the G-Code Scorpion Softshell is a tool pouch built specifically for rifle and pistol magazine retention and manipulation. A design that makes the task of reloads under stress or in a lull as instinctive as the gesture of pointing.

Cable Management. Magazine Retention.

A molded exoskeleton manages and protects the binding cord, minimizing wear and mitigating the potential for snags in turbulent environments.

The front “torsion plate” directs pressure from the binding cord down, forcing positive contact of the inner friction surface to the length of the magazine, with room to regulate the tension up or down.

Finally, the cross bars of the plate allow for Scorpion Softshell pistol pouches to be stacked on a rifle pouch, giving the end user total control of their fighting configuration.

Built for Speed

Weighing in at just 3.3 ounces*, the Scorpion Soft Shell is among the lightest available today. The super-tough Nylon frame components and the Santoprene molded Soft-Shell are rugged, durable and are moisture proof.

A flared opening guides a consistent, clean draw from and insertion to the pouch, while the inner surface retains the magazine firmly whether the end user is in motion or at rest.

* plus platform specific mounting hardware

One Size Fits All

The G-Code Scorpion Softshell rifle pouches accept all AR type magazines, .308 variants as well as those built for Kalashnikov type rifles. Pistol pouches will, likewise, retain both double stack and single stack magazines.

Available as either a standard or speed cut, the G-Code Scorpion Soft-Shell pistol mag carriers provides the end user every option to best interface with the rest of their equipment.

In the Family

Launching with the Scorpion Soft-Shell series are G-Code’s new, patent pending, “R-series” and “P-series” interfaces. The R-2 and P-2 clips deliver a phenomenally stable and dependable mounting system that is designed specifically to interface with G-Code’s “Operator belt”. Likewise, R-1 and P-1 clips with PALS platforms (body armor, belt) and R-3 and P-3 clips with most other belt systems.

The modular back panel, integral to every G-Code pouch, also allows the Scorpion Softshell line to dock with the entire family of G-Code accessories.

Made in the USA

Available in black, coyote tan, green and gray as well as a series of custom color pairing designed to match camouflage offerings in use by the US Military, Law Enforcement and our allies.

Each G-Code Scorpion Soft-Shell pouch is backed not only by G-Code’s Life-Time Warranty, but the Company’s reputation for quality.

Rumor Mill – Smith & Wesson M2.0 Found In Trademark Filings

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

webcontent

If you do a search on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website for Smith & Wesson, you’ll notice a series of trademark filings from this year for something called M2.0 (featuring the above logo) for various goods and services, including gun cases, airsoft, and apparel, all with ‘Published for Opposition’ dates throughout this month. Now, you may be wondering, why is this of any interest?

With the recent reveal of the Glock 17M and the subsequent rumors of the Glock GEN 5, it should come as no surprise that other firearm companies are looking at releasing updated models to their pistol lines. It looks like this is the case with Smith & Wesson, who it seems is planning on releasing their own upgraded M&P model pistol.

A source who wishes to remain anonymous told us the new pistol line is to be dubbed M2.0. M2.0 is a response to criticisms of the original M&P series pistols, and is designed with a host of features that will allow the M&P series to better compete with stock Glocks. Our source cited changes to the design, including an improved trigger and full-length guide rails, intended to increase overall functionality, reliability, and out-the-box accuracy.

We feel it’s only fair to note that although we do trust our source this is a second-hand account, and until any official news/documentation comes out this info should be treated as speculation and rumor. That being the case, in all likelihood we’ll hear more about M2.0 as SHOT 2017 draws nearer, so stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.

Autonomous Alloys – Digital Steel Smart Target System On Indiegogo

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

target

Back in late June, we featured a release on Autonomous Alloys and their Digital Steel Smart Target System. The full details are in the original article, but for a quick refresher: the Autonomous Alloys targets are intended for use with pistol caliber and rimfire cartridges, featuring a magnetic reset and multi-colored backlit light bar for shooter feedback, as well as an onboard wireless system which lets multiple targets sync up for a variety of programmable training and game modes.

Since then, Autonomous Alloys has set up a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, which at the time of writing has amassed over 140% of its stated $100,000 minimum funding goal. While the project has met its goal, there’s still plenty of time, if this project interests you, to support it.
