Tuesday, June 14th, 2011Father’s Day Gift Idea – Tactical Grilling
Sunday, June 12th, 2011We’ve extolled the virtues of Tactical Grilling before, but now they have an all new website and even more kick ass products so we thought, what with Father’s Day coming up, it would be a good idea to put the word out. Tactical Grilling is really gaining in popularity as you can see from this photo featuring “America’s Chefs” outfitted in Tactical Grilling kit on their recent trip to GITMO.
Their Tactical Apron is PALS compatible. In addition to adding any of your own pouches, they offer the Tactical Spatula Sheath as well as the Tactical Beer Shingle. Aprons and pouches are available in UCP, MultiCam, Coyote, Woodland, LE and Fire. That’s right, Tactical Grilling listened and added colors to show your LE or Fire pride.
Tactical Grilling products are Made in USA.
AOR1 in Action
Thursday, June 9th, 2011Here’s a photo from January of VADM Robert Harward, commander of Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435 wearing a Crye field shirt in AOR1. It is eerily similar to the new NWU Type 2 uniforms are hitting the fleet. Don’t look at that jacket in his hands though, it doesn’t exist.

Propper TAC.U Combat Shirt in A-TACS Now Available for Preorder
Tuesday, June 7th, 2011Propper’s TAC.U Combat Shirt in A-TACS is now available for preorder from Predator BDU. We wrote about it at SHOT show and we can say that it is truly unlike any other combat shirt on the market. It’s made from a combination of NYCO Poly Cotton sleeves and a Poly Cotton mix torso and is printed in the A-TACS pattern which seems to be gaining a lot of momentum. The shoulders are padded and the sleeves feature inset pockets with zippered closures.

Crye to Develop New Camo Pattern for Australia
Monday, May 30th, 2011Last Fall, Australian Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare announced that they would be adopting MultiCam uniforms for their troops deploying to Afghanistan. He also made mention of a deal in the works with Crye Precision to develop an Australia specific derivative similar to what Crye did for the UK when they produced Multi Terrain Pattern (MTP).
According to Defence Materiel Organisation chief executive Dr Stephen Gumley, the first 5000 sets of the new MultiCam uniforms are being issued to troops in Afghanistan. Australian SF have been using MultiCam for several years but this is a first for conventional Australian troops who most recently had been trialling a uniform in the so-called DPMU pattern based on the distinct Auscam pattern but with Afghanistan specific coloring.
Earlier today, BRIG Mike Phelps (Director General, Integrated Soldier Systems Division, Land Systems Division, Defence Materiel Organisation) announced that they had issued contracts with Crye in the amount of $US4.7 million for a license to manufacture in Australia and $US3.1 million for Crye to develop a uniquely Australian camouflage pattern. He went on to add that the first prototypes should be available in five weeks.
