HOTSHOTS 2019 calendar pays tribute to Playboy Magazine founder in Edgar Brothers’ erotic blast from the past

Wednesday, November 14th, 2018

Glamour girls with guns pictured in a variety of retro-style classic Playboy poses make the HOTSHOTS 2019 calendar a sexy blast from the past! Now in its 12th year, the annual production features some of the most desirable models in the UK and the latest military kit distributed by Edgar Brothers in a vintage shoot.

The brainchild of UK-based Edgar Brothers’ Police and Military division, HOTSHOTS has already raised nearly £150,000 for various Wounded Soldiers charities in the UK and United States since launching in 2008.

The 2019 edition, which was shot in Salt Lake City, features exposed tan lines and sexy swimwear from the sixties and seventies in a Hugh Hefner multicam theme. The renowned founder father and editor-in-chief of Playboy Magazine died in September 2017.

Stunning Lucie-Rose Donlan, a 20-year-old professional model and sponsored surfer from Cornwall, is this year’s cover girl. She is particularly proud to be featuring in HOTSHOTS for the first time due to her family’s military connection.

She said: “It means so much to be a HOTSHOTS girl. I’ve always admired the calendar and feel very honoured to model and get the front cover. It’s really special for me to be supporting Wounded Veterans as my dad served in the military for many years before taking early retirement due to injury, and my cousin is currently serving. I desperately wanted to be part of the calendar so that I could feel that I’m helping, in some way, to support such an amazing cause.”

UK-based Rosie Danvers, Katya Sanchez and Sabine Jemeljanova also feature for the first time, while Hotshots favourites Kelly Hall, Stephanie Pietz, Kayla Cadorna and India Reynolds star again in vintage poses.

Mike Newman, Director of Edgar Brothers’ Police and Military Division, said: “Every year we strive to improve on the previous year’s calendar and 2019 is no exception. The Hugh Heffner theme is simply great fun and a tip of the hat to a icon that achieved so much. The girls loved the retro-style shoot in Salt Lake City and are proud to be lending their support to a very worthy cause.”

HOTSHOTS 2019 can be delivered globally and you can purchase the calendar directly in the USA/CANADA – www.hotshotscalendar.com or the UK/Rest of World www.hotshotscalendar.co.uk

“Lionhearted”, National Collaboration Honoring Courage of Veterans, Debuts in Observance of Veterans Day

Monday, November 5th, 2018

Directed by Purple Heart Recipient, Lionhearted Project Includes Short Films, Art, and Website Sharing Reality of a Veteran’s Return
ONTARIO, California –The Safariland Group (“Safariland”), a leading global manufacturer of a broad range of safety and survivability products for the public safety, military, professional, and outdoor markets, announces the Lionhearted project, a national collaboration of film, art, and community empowering veterans to heal through sharing their personal stories. The Lionhearted initiative was influenced and directed by Purple Heart recipient and Safariland’s digital media director, Shane Ruiz.

Lionhearted started as a small project to chronicle veteran stories for Veterans Day and grew organically due to the strong veteran community. Twenty-two veterans’ stories are featured in video, art and on a website dedicated to this project, and captured in a 24-minute documentary film to be presented at the Smithsonian’s Veterans Day Film Festival on November 11.

“The Lionhearted project honors the courage of our veterans, and gives them a voice, so others will know it’s okay to talk about their experiences and get support,” said Shane Ruiz, digital media director at Safariland. “It is designed to help civilians understand what veterans go through, so they’ll be better able to support the unseen battles veterans face each day.”

Artist Shawn Ganther, an Air Force veteran, created one-of-a-kind artistic renditions of each of the veterans’ stories on Safariland hard armor plates. The individual plates were assembled as one piece into a red, white and blue mosaic American flag. The six-foot-long, 460-pound art piece called “The Lionhearted” will be unveiled on November 8 at the National Veterans Art Museum in Chicago and will be on display as part of its permanent collection.

Ruiz added, “The suicide rate among veterans is unacceptably high, averaging 22 veterans daily. This is a staggering and heartbreaking statistic. For this reason, we wanted to honor and help veterans by giving them the opportunity to share their stories. We expect their stories will help other veterans who can relate to them and provide valuable insights for civilians.”

Veterans and civilians are encouraged to visit The Safariland Group’s YouTube channel to see the veteran’s stories and documentary, as well as the website lionheartedfilm.com for a full overview of the Lionhearted project.

Shadow Systems Commits to Donating $7,500 to Law Enforcement Charities with Release of Limited Edition Thin Blue Line Pistol

Monday, October 22nd, 2018

Plano, TX (October, 2018) – Shadow Systems, a US-based manufacturer of Glock compatible firearms, parts, and accessories, is proud to announce the release of 5 Limited Edition Thin Blue Line Pistols, to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. 100% of the $1,500 purchase price of each limited edition pistol will be donated to the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund or another law enforcement charity of the customer’s choice.

The Shadow Systems team is made up of former law enforcement officers and military veterans, and has been a supporter of military and law enforcement groups since the company’s founding. Considerations from using weapons in the field as LEOs and in military combat have been what fuels the engineering behind the Shadow Systems product line; the company has even created custom offerings at the request of law enforcement agencies.

The Thin Blue Line Limited Edition pistols were created to show pride for law enforcement and the company has decided to take that pride one step further by donating 100% of the purchase price of each pistol to a law enforcement charity.

“Our team has the utmost respect for our law enforcement community. We acknowledge how difficult their job is and are happy to have the opportunity to support their community with the release of this pistol. I am hopeful that our modest donation will find its way to provide some small relief to the families of those heroes who have fallen in the line of duty.”

– Trevor Roe, General Manager

The Thin Blue Line Pistol features the Optics Ready Window Cut Slide, which accomodates a Trijicon RMR or Holosun red dot optic. The window cut on the slide allows a blue-lined Threaded Fluted DLC Barrel to peek through. The Glock frame of the pistol has been modified with a hand-done Enhanced Traction stippled grip job featuring a double undercut, scalloping around the magazine button, and the addition of index pads to each side of the frame; these modifications allow the gun to sit more comfortably in the hand and provide enhanced controllability without feeling too rough to carry daily. Machined from hardened 17-4 stainless steel and coated in cutting edge hard-use DLC, the slide features aggressively raked front and rear serrations and precisely executed chamfers and radiuses throughout. The Thin Blue Line Pistol also features the Shadow Systems Elite Flat-Faced Aluminum Trigger, with a blue coating along with a tuned 4-4.5lb pull weight trigger pack.

Now Available – Altama x SSD x TD Limited Edition Maritime Assault Shoe Mid in Wolf Grey

Friday, October 19th, 2018

Soldier Systems Daily has teamed up with Altama to introduce the limited edition Soldier Systems Classic version of the Maritime Assault Mid in Wolf Grey.

Last year, Soldier Systems Daily founder Eric Graves visited the Altama factory in Tennessee and was very impressed with the work being done there. He spoke with Original Footwear owner Kevin Cole about an idea he had been mulling over to raise money for military charities.

The concept of Soldier Systems Classics is simple. Combine old and new into a product which is branded with the Soldier Systems Classic logo. That could be an old design made from new materials or colors like Wolf Grey, or a new product with a heritage paint job like WWII Marine camouflage. Any funds raised by SSD are donated to a deserving charity.

Altama had just introduced the Maritime Assault Shoe which was designed by Eric’s old friend Dan Ellis. They reminded Eric of a modernized version of the sneaker inspired jungle shoes of World War Two and a deal was struck. Altama would introduce a new special color for the Maritime Assault Line and would manufacture 300 pair which included the Classics version of the SSD logo. Eric would select a deserving charity.

Eric is a retired US Air Force Intelligence Officer who served at the 21st & 23rd Special Tactics Squadrons as well as the 720th Special Tactics Group.

For the first Soldier Systems Classic fundraiser, he wanted to identify a charity which is very focused on the community it supports and is effective in delivery of support and services. He asked some of the men he had served with and they suggested The Pararescue Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Public Charity.

The Pararescue Foundation is the only entity dedicated to exclusively support US Air Force Pararescue and Combat Rescue Officer service members, veterans and their families.

Their mandate:
• Relieve the physical and psychological demands of service
• Provide tragedy, transition, and education assistance
• Honor the commitment and sacrifice of those who live by the motto:  “That Others May Live”

Last but not least, SSD turned to Tactical Distributors to handle the sale of the shoes. 10% of the proceeds of the sale of these shoes will be donated to The Pararescue Foundation.

The shoes are limited to 300 pair. Once they are gone, they are gone forever.

Visit www.tacticaldistributors.com to learn more about the shoe and to order your own pair.
