The Huron Hot Weather Uniform consists of pants, blouse and boonie hat.
The Hot Weather Uniform from TYR Tactical’s Huron line is made from an ultra comfortable 3.6oz 100% ripstop nylon. This fabric feels like you took an old set of jungle fatigues and washed them a bunch of times. TYR initially had the OD fabric but their supply was quickly sold out to a government customer but now it’s back in stock and I can’t wait to get my hands on a set.
In addition to the Ripstop nylon as a base, they use 4-way stretch tweave, poly mesh, and 4-way stretch polyester with X-Static® technology. The materials are also treated with No Fly Zone® and MCS® Blocker, to provide sun protection. Additionally, they’ve added X-Static® for anti-microbial, no odor and no static cling.
Overall there’s plenty of venting built into this fast drying hot weather uniform.
Blouse Features:
• Two Breast Pockets with Ventilation
• Bar Button Front Closure
• Two Zipper Sleeve Pockets
• Waist Cinching Tabs for fit adjustment
• Fully vented back panel
Pant Features:
• Groin, waist band and knees incorporate 4-way stretch tweave for added range of motion, comfort, and abrasion resistance
• Universal Knee Pad Pockets
• Knee Cinching Tabs
• Two Front and Two Rear low profile slash pockets. The bottom of these pockets are constructed with poly mesh for water/debris drainage and airflow.
• Two Cargo Pockets with ventilation. Low profile design allows the pockets to lay flat when not in use
• Bar Button and Velcro® fly closure
• Boot Cuff Velcro® Cinching Tabs
• Internally Sewn, Poly Mesh Boot Gaiter
TYR also offers these Berry compliant uniforms in MultiCam.

In this week’s Friday Focus we’ll show you a rare run of MultiCam versions of their Combat Anorak.
With the same features as their solid color Combat Anoraks, these MultiCam variants are availsble only in their Non-Stocking Non-Standard section of the website.
This limited run was manufactured as prototypes, but FS currently has no plans of putting them into production. So, it’s first-come, first-served.
Sizes are limited. However, unlike the oversized production model, sizes are true. If you wear a Large, order a Large.
It’s been a little while since we last had anything on IronLace on SSD. A recent email from an industry contact about a video featuring IronLace gave us the perfect opportunity for a reintroduction. Said video (above) shows Stanley of NY-based Dirt Monkey University putting the IronLace boot laces through some unconventional paces, including a blowtorch and using the laces as a towing anchor. Obviously, as bootlaces, IronLaces are best used to, well, lace up boots; it certainty is a impressive display of their durability, all the same.
As a reminder, IronLace boot laces are capable of withstanding up to 1600 lbs of tension, are virtually chemical proof, UV ray resistant, water proof, abrasion resistant, and heat resistant up to 630 deg F. Additionally, IronLace’s work with RLCB has led to IronLace boot laces being categorized as a Skillcraft product.
