Crye Precision – Three New Products

Crye Precision has launched three new products which are now available on their webpage: the JPC 2.0, Loft Jacket, and LWF Jacket.

JPC 2.0

The latest iteration of Crye’s Jumpable Plate Carrier, the JPC 2.0 is a lightweight and minimal armor vest designed to maximize mobility and packability, while reducing as much weight as possible. The unloaded carrier weighs just over 1 lbs., and is highly configurable. The JPC 2.0 features the Skeletal Cummerbund system with Crye’s Integrated Attachment System which allows for pouches to be mounted to both the inside and outside of the cummerbund. Additionally, the JPC 2.0 is compatible with all AVS Detachable Flap systems.

Loft Jacket

The Loft Jacket is a midweight jacket that functions equally well as an outer garment and an insulation layer. The outer layer is treated with Nano STX which sheds moisture and snow. The Loft Jacket features an athletic fit for use under shells, so those looking for a looser fit should order one size up.

LWF Jacket

Made from a single layer of custom fllece fabric, it features a “slick” outer surface which sheds water and dirt better than typical fleece. The LWF Jacket features an athletic fit for layering, so those looking for a looser fit should order one size up.

Warrior West – Massif

We recently wrote about the new Army Combat Shirt – Type II created specifically for use with the Soldier Plate Carrier System. Many readers seemed displeased with that Army directed design and mentioned several attributes they’d like to see in an improved design. Massif is already one step ahead of you with their new Advanced 1/4 Zip Combat Shirt (FR).

This commercially available FR combat shirt incorporates a 1/4 zip polo style collar along with increased printed FR fabric that extends down the aide of the garment to increase camouflage. Additionally, the SuperFabric elbows will accept padding.

Warrior West – Beyond Clothing

The Lochi is a reversible insulation piece that utilizes 60 fill Polartec Alpha combined with a 40D Milliken shell. When you wear it on the “civilian” side there’s no color flash. For example, the mission side of the hood is Coyote rather than MultiCam. The Lochi integrates two slash handwarmer pockets on either side with an additional zippered chest pocket on the Mission side.

The Mission model is Black / MultiCam. Also available in Manatee Grey / Navy Blue on the commercial side. Coming June 2015.

Quicksilver – True Wetsuits

The combined efforts of Quicksilver Japan and Japanese ad agency TBWA\HAKUHODO have led to the creation of the True Wetsuits. True Wetsuits feature a jacket and pants which made from 2mm jersey neoprene and a shirt made of the Quicksilver/3M-designed ‘Dry Flight’ fabric, and are intended to look like business suits, or in the case of a third variant a tuxedo, yet function more or less like a traditional wetsuit. And yes, we know what you’re thinking; you could totally reenact the pre-title sequence of Goldfinger while wearing one of these, but arguably this is even better because in this case the tux is the wetsuit.

Reportedly, the suits are made to order with a two month lead time, and we’ve yet to find any confirmation they’re available anywhere other than Japan.

Critical Precision – SOPMOD Block II T-Shirts

Critical Precision is currently accepting pre-orders for a pair of SOPMOD Block II shirts, one in the CQBR configuration and the other in the M4A1 configuration. Both shirts feature the American flag centered on the front, and the SOCOM Spear on the back above a silhouette of the weapon. The designs are printed on Next Level 60/40 cotton-poly blended shirts, and this will be the only run that will be offered in olive tan. Proceeds from both shirts will go to benefit Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF).

Velocity Systems Releases New Colors For BOSS Rugby

BOSS Rugby wearers have called for additional colors and Velocity Systems responded by introducing the Coyote version we saw in March as well as the new Ranger Green and Red. If I were ever accused of endorsing a product, the BOSS Rugby would be it. I love these things and it’s great to see more color options.

You’ll notice that the Red variant, which is great for range personnel, is long sleeved and features Grey sleeve pockets. In fact, all three new colors will be offered in Short and Long Sleeve versions. These should be available very soon. In addition to Velocity Systems, SKD Tactical has also placed a stocking order.
