HSP Announces Rampart International as Exclusive Canadian Distributor

This is interesting news. We’ve been introduced to the guys at Rampart International and HSP continues to introduce new products. I wonder if we’ll see additional international partnerships.

October 1, 2013 — Haley Strategic Partners is excited to announce that HSP Product will now be distributed in Canada exclusively by Rampart International. Rampart International is able to provide our Canadian customers with the entire HSP Product Line with better options for shipping and tracking inside of Canada. Rampart International will have all new product releases in-stock and on-hand for day of release purchases.

The Safariland Group Acquires Tactical Command Industries, Inc

I’ve got to admit that this news is a bit surprising. While some might look at Safariland’s business acquisition activities and surmise that they are “putting the band back together” to recreate an Armor Holdings-like entity, I see a much more mature strategy at work. They have moved beyond their comfort zone of armor products and began to assemble a group of companies that will compliment one another. The biggest critique of Armor Holdings is that it was a group of companies that were all in competition with one another. Take a look at what I’m talking about. The Safariland Group includes Safariland® itself, ABA®, Second Chance®, Bianchi®, Break Free®, Protech® Tactical, Hatch®, Monadnock®, Identicator®, NIK®, Mustang Survival®, and Med-Eng®. An impressive lineup indeed. And, you are seeing a wider variety of specialties at work here. Take for example, TCI. It’s a well respected brand that has been there in the past to support the client’s needs for semi-custom comms equipment. Get some synchronicity going and The Safariland Group is going to be able to shake some trees in ways they haven’t in the past.

Tactical Pro Shop, LLC

Tactical Pro Shop, LLC is a tactical products store located in Burbank, CA that offers many of the known tactical brands on sale today. It was started by founder Matthew Kime in the early 2000s due to a demand for a knowledgeable and well-stocked uniform and equipment shop from local law enforcement and military; it largely predates many of the hundreds of tactical supply shops currently in business country-wide.

Something that is likely lesser known about Tactical Pro Shop, however, is their involvement with the movie industry. Matt and his staff has experience and contacts in the movie and tactical industries that allow them the opportunity to provide gear and technical expertise for some of Hollywood’s greatest blockbusters. In fact, the posters of movies that TPS has had heavy involvement with adorn the wall above the entrance to the shop.

Beyond Clothing Hires Multiple Industry Experts

Beyond has assembled quite a team. This is huge news for Beyond and shows me that they are going to do a lot starting here in the very new future. Keep an eye on them. What I’ve seen so far has been impressive.

Seattle, WA, September 24, 2013 – Beyond Clothing, a technical clothing designer and manufacturer for the outdoor industry and Professional User community, has brought on several outdoor industry experts to manage increased production capabilities. The company came under new leadership last year and since that time, Beyond has doubled their employment and revamped their team to include experts in the technical garment production and design, marketing and government sales.

The new Beyond team members include Peter Reichel, formerly of Nike who is leading design as Creative Director; Jill Green, formerly of Black Diamond who is taking over as Outside Production Manager; Justin Mason, formerly of Smith Optics is heading up the Media Group; Carlos Merino, formerly of Edge Eyewear is leading the mission project team; and Mandy Bollmeier, formerly of LBT will manage special mission development projects.

The new hires come in advance of the company’s much-anticipated new product line launch, the grand opening of a vastly expanded production facility and the addition of uniquely technical production equipment, all slated for next month.
